rain or no rain-we are headed back to Disney trip report!! **Updated 12/3** - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I'm back, time for the rest of the report for day 2 (hopefully anyway ).
It was time to head over to Le Cellier for our lunch adr. It was for 1:25, so we were just checking things out on the way, not rushing, enjoying the breeze that came every now and then because it was kind of hot that day (9-15). We ended up checking in at 12:45 and were told that they couldn't seat us right then. I advised that it was no problem, but that since it was so warm outside we just wanted some cool air . The kids went outside for a bit and got some nice pics and before they came in to sit with us and wait. Here are me and the girl's (remember forever posing or being silly) .
The callled our name and we were seated at 1:20 . Our waitress' name was Theressa and she was nice. Told us all about the menu and about the special they had that if u were on the DDP (which we were) you could order it and get the appetizer. She took our drink order, said she would bring the bread and take our order at that time. All of us ordered coke except for Zach, he order the "sour apple freeze" , it was good but boy was it SOUR !! She brought him water to drink as well. We then placed our orders for (2) NY strip steaks , 1 petit mushroom filet , 1 salmon filet and the special with mushroom ravioli and cheddar cheese soup for the appetizer. I didn't get a pic of the breads for some reason-but they were very good especially the pretzel one which was great for dipping in the YUMMY soup!!
It didn't take too long to get our food, we had time to eat 2 baskets of bread before they came. This was the beginning of our "disappearing waitress"!! Another waiter brought out the food and usually at other places when that happens your server is usually close behind to help put it where it goes and so on-but not this time ? We told him who ordered what, we also needed drink refills by now and asked him to find our waitress for that purpose. She didn't come back and we were looking all around for her!?!? We finally asked yet another waitress if we could either get refills or if she could find Theressa? Guess what-the other waitress brought out the refills !?!?!?! We just got back to eating, not wanting our food to get cold and to continue to enjoy each other's company, figuring we would deal with her if she ever came back .
Everything was great, the steaks and filets were cooked as requested, Bossy said the ravioli was good but it would only be for the ones the really loved mushrooms since there was a ton of them in there and Zach just kept rolling his eyes as he ate his salmon -he finally said it was to die for !!
About this time, out of nowhere, we heard a blood curdling scream from about 2 tables over!!! It scared the crap out of everyone in the restaurant I believe !!! Everyone and I do mean everyone looked over to see this 4 or 5 year old girl hit the floor-kicking and screaming!!! I kid u not!!! HER PARENTS JUST SAT THERE LOOKING AT HER , the mother even went as far as to continue to eat !?!?! FINALLY, FINALLY the Dad got up, picked the child up and went towards the door, well guess what , u guessed it-the other sister about 3 then hit the floor !!! OMG!!!! I was about to die-the mother once again, was just SITTING THERE LOOKING AT HER!!!!! I wanted to go over there and hit the mother in the back of the head and then pick the child up for a trip to the bathroom!!!! The Dad came back with the other screamer and she seemed to be fine the rest of the time and HE NOT THE MOTHER got the other one and put her on his lap, where she too finally was quiet and they continued on eating as if nothing had happened!!?!?!?!?! WOW!!!! My kids were looking at me, and they said if they had ever done anything like that-I would have killed them !!! I couldn't believe it!!!
Well, by this time Theressa was found-how, I am not sure , but she got us another refill and took our dessert order. I told her we had to get 2 other people to help with the food and the refills since we couldn't find her and there was NO RESPONSE from her at all , no-I'm sorry, NOTHING !!?? She left with our dessert order, then came back to clear the dishes from the table, did ask us how everything was, and then left again.
She came back shortly with the desserts, here is what we had, 1 smore -it wasn't good at all!!! 1 strawberry cheesecake which my son said was ok , 1 mandarin orange sorbet which Bossy said was great and 2 chocolate "moose" which both girl's said it was good. Here is another pic of Zach and Sarah being silly for some reason about the "moose"
We were out of there by 2:45. All in all it was good food, the service wasn't so good though-this waitress only got a 10% tip and was lucky to get that!! I usually tip very well, but if I don't get the service-I will tip accordingly!! I was disappointed in the service but would go there again since the food was so good. I can only hope that I never run into those screaming kids again !! Here is one last pic of the kids right outside Le Cellier , it was gorgeous inside and outside, very roomy. We had no problems with anyone being right on top of us, it is a smaller place but there was enough space to feel comfortable while we were eating.
We are headed to Soarin' now, the kids still trying to talk me into going on it, I will let u wonder for awhile until I can get back to fill u in .

Very interesting about the strange family. Sounds like the mother just had had enough. Thank goodness for the dad to keep the peace. Your meal looks great. At least your kid will smile an cutup with you and the camera. My two 14 year old granddaughters seem to always have a frown and play duck and cover everytime they see a camera. Bring on some more.
yeah, maybe they were doing that in other places too and she was just fed up with it .
I guess I am lucky with the pics, they really enjoy it and as u can tell they can come up with some faces can't they . sometimes they get annoyed with me-but then when they see the pics and how they can remember things years after it happens-they thank me .
will be doing the rest of day 2 soon and yes with pics of course , hang in there with me .
Sounds like you're having a great time. My kids would have said the same thing to me regarding the screaming brats @ LeCellier-they would have been clobbered then removed completely from the building.
The view from your room is outstanding-I will have to request that area for a future trip.
my kids would have been removed from the resturant. usually they were asked "do we need to go discuss this?" the answer was always no! funny thing was since the answer was always no, neither knew what would happen if we did go to discuss it.

Hurry back with more please!!
***we were in the 60's section rooms 5430 and 5431, if that helps ***
What a great meal at Le Cellier (sorry about the lousy service but thankfully others pitched in so your meal was not disrupted). Everything looked delicious...
Phew!! I am finally back-so sorry it took so long . In the last report, we had just gotten thru with our meal at Le Cellier and were headed to Soarin. As I've told u before, I have a problem with motion sickness, so I wasn't real sure about getting on this thing , the kids wanted me to once again (like they did Mission Space) to at least try it and hopefully I would survive with no ill effects . I told them I would get in line with them but there were no guarantees that once I got there-I wouldn't take the "chicken exit". This was the longest line that we waited in the whole time we were at The World, but they kept us entertained with a few things and of course I had "my crew" to keep me entertained the rest of the time .
It was time to make up my mind as we were finally there-the kids were looking at me with those sad puppy dog faces, so I said ok-why the heck not . I got on and of course we got in the FRONT ROW , why not-it was only my 1st time and I was terrified !! Guess what-I DID FINE , I have to admit there were a few times where my eyes were closed-if I didn't close them, I would have lost my Le Cellier lunch , but the parts that I did see were BEAUTIFUL!!! It was a neat ride I must say. I survived with no bad effects after I got off, I was fine-made it thru another one-YES!!!! Here is our photopass for Soarin-pretty cool huh
At this point, the kids wanted to go seperate ways for awhile, they went towards more rides and Bossy and I went towards the countries to try and finish up, but on the way-we stopped at the Character Spot to have some pics made with a few "characters". We met, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale and Goofy. and and and -Goofy was tickling me the whole time, he was fun!! And finally .
We stayed a bit longer, got some more countries done, but we were gonna hit Hollywood Studios for the EMH, so we rounded up the kids and headed for the exits. We found the bus for Hollywood and went straight there, didn't have to wait too long for a bus either.
We rode the Tower of Terror, Rock-n-Roller Coaster and the Great Movie Ride before we got hungry. We went to Rosies-had the chicken nuggets, fries, hamburger, salad and cheeseburger-all were pretty good. We got the chocolate cake for dessert but none of us really ate much. While we were here, we encountered our 1st day with rain!! There was supposed to be a chance of rain the whole time we were there, so we were lucky. We were also under cover already, so we just took our time eating and by the time we were done-it was over . Here are some pics of DHS...on the Great Movie Ride in the Wizard of Oz part, and The Hat at night-cool huh? and . I have some more pics but these were the ones that were taken that night. We did get some more stuff done-but for the life of me, I can't remember??? We left when it closed, so we did have to wait a bit for a bus to get us, there were several to come and go before we made it thru the lines. After we made it back to Pop, I wasn't feeling well for some reason, so Mr Toilet and I were friends for awhile , but I was ok after a bit. Got in the bed about 2 am and had the clock set for 7 am again.
The weather today was: sunny and hot (until it rained)
The best thing about today was: Test Track!!
The worst thing about today was: getting sick at the end of the night and the screaming kids at Le Cellier!!
Today we tried: Soarin
and the result was:I survived !!
The most magical moment was:getting pics with the characters
So this FINALLY ends my 2nd day report, wow-didn't think that was ever gonna happen did ya . I gotta go get my flu shot, but I will be back to report on the 3rd day which started off at Animal Kingdom and ended at the WONDERFUL Victoria and Albert's!!!!
Have a great day, ttfn !!
