As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I would normally never wear shorts in public, but I know it's going to be hot and I figure I am gettin to old to care what other ppl think....I am going to Disney not only in shorts but i did something even slightly braver....I bought a 2 piece bathing suit! I am certinly pooh sized and proud of how I am!
I am a little pooh sized and hate wearing shorts that aren't mesh, however one great look has been in style that has helped me out a lot this summer. Bermuda Shorts are great and they come in all kinds of styles. They are almost like capris and most of them are super comfy. They are great for walking and such. When I do amusement parks at home, I usually just wear mesh shorts and something. Disney is a it different but not too much. I bought a whole bunch of bermuda shorts for my college program this fall down there.
That's just one suggestion. The other ones I have read are great too!!
Have a blast on your first trip!!

For ladies having trouble with shorts riding up... I tend to buy shorts that have legs about 2" wider than the widest part of my thigh. If it is a lil bigger, then it doesn't ride up as much. I also buy the longer shorts. The new Short Shorts definatly are not for me! If they don't come at least to just above the knee, I couldn't be comfortable. I know everyone is differant, but this works for me. Hope it helps you too.

I'm pooh sized and I wear capris and BERMUDA shorts that are so IN right now - Chubbies love the Bermuda Shorts!!! Because I don't want my cubby thighs rubbing uncomfortably together, shorts are out of the question. I am much more comfortable in capris and long shorts. Everything is air conditioned and there are plenty of shady spots. Just be sure you're comfortable in the fit and feel - the heat is secondary. There are inexpensive and very light seersucker capris on this site - www.womanwithin.com ! I love them for Disney! Have a great time!

Firstly, this thread is absolutely priceless, and I am pleased to say that I am no longer "fat". I am "Pooh-sized"!
Secondly, Gods be praised for the lovely ladies that brought up the subject of chafing and the remedy of Body Glide. I'm running out to my local Dick's tomorrow for that!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thirdly, and most important: ladies, please be comfortable and don't worry about what someone might think! I personally woud MUCH rather be standing in line with a fellow comfy human rather than a being that, with a bit more prodding, could indeed
become Big Bad Apocalypse Momma at-the-end-of-her-rope due to wardrobe malfunction!
Hi girl I ain't no string bean either. And I never wear tank tops but at WDW I wear tanks I am there to have fun and stay and cool and her is the thin I don't look bad in tank tops. I got the pics back and I was like hey that is cute. Have fun be cool and the smile on your face will be all you see in your pics and all you remember.
My outlook is - who is going to know me anyway? So, I wear shorts and a comfy T-shirt, my shades, good walking shoes, my big hat and yes, even a fanny pack. I am there to have fun. As mentioned earlier, get Body Glide! It is a pooh-sized girl's best friend and works great on the feet to keep away the blisters.
I used to wear the same pants. Every single day (that's a lot of washing) because I HATED shopping for pants/bottoms. I covered everything up. I've lost about 70ish pounds but still have LONG ways to go. I have GIANT flapping arms (no seriously, they are like a size 26 and my upper body is a XL) and a big flapping stomach - all because of weight loss. I decided that I wanted to wear cute instyle clothes and FORGET what everyone else thought of me and my flappy arms/tummy.
Now I actually feel CUTER because I feel like I look good. Who cares what people think about the body itself.
But, I have to say, I'm high maintenance and even at Disney, I fix my hair, wear make-up and jewelry and at ALL costs, protect my hair from getting wet! LOL I have IRONED straight hair and natural curls. The humidity is NOT my friend! LOL

Congrats on the weight loss! You sound like me. I've lost right at 50 lbs since Feb, but my arms are still my nemesis. I can deal w/my legs being seen, but my arms ugh! But, we'll see what happens. Baby steps, right?
Be comfortable and cool! It is too hot in Florida to wear long pants. I wore shorts the entire time and my friend wore shorts or capris each day. The only time I wore jeans was on the flight down and the flight home. It was way hot even with the shorts on. Stay cool and have fun!

I thank everyone for the Body Glide recommendation. I am going to get some later today. As a very Pooh sized woman, I will be wearing shorts and t shirts during our stay in September. I am also going to wear my swimsuit and could care less what anybody says.
BTW some times I hear comments from strangers when I wear shorts in public. I have been known to stop what I am doing, turn around and face them squarely and give them the "look", right down my nose at what they are wearing, then turn around, sniff and continue with my business. Leaves them speechless everytime.
Ok, since we're on the subject of pooh size, I'm worried that I'm not going to fit on most of the rides. Are my worries true? I'm trying to lose another 15lbs before we leave, just in case, but I'm afraid it still won't be enough. I'm 5'2 & pooh sized, so I carry mine differently than women who are tall & pooh sized. Anyone else like me and fit fine on the rides?
