Me, Muffin, Katie, Megan, the Adlers and Various Resorts!, - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Welcome! We're happy you've found the PassPorter Community -- the friendliest place to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and the world in general! Love the photos around GF and the Poly! Brunch at Narcoossee's looked delish! Seeing MK all decked out for Christmas is the best! I was glad we got to see a bit of it on our last day.
Looks like a good start to the day with a tour of the Poly and GF with many good photos! Your brunch looks very good but the Cali really knows how to do it and as you said a better value!

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Just got all caught up with your TR Tara and it sure sounds like everything has been perfect so far!!! So glad you had such a great flight on Southwest (we'll be taking it in January for the first time on our return flight). I enjoyed hearing about your Discovery Cove experience and I think we stayed at the same Spring Hill Suites about three years ago. I'd like to do the California Grill brunch one day so I'm glad you rated it over Narcoossee's ! We loved seeing the MK all decorated for Christmas last week!
All caught up. How cool that you did the Amphicar tour! I was looking at them from the Hangar bar last time I was in Disney Springs. I imagine it's a lot of fun. A margarita with ants?! No thank you lol, but I admire your guts on trying it!
The brunch looked delicious and good to know about the difference in value. We're staying at Bay Lake Tower in February and I was debating on a brunch. I'll have to see if Cali has availability. I'm so glad Megan loved Mickey. It's so amazing how they've got him talking, it's definitely a trip highlight for us when we see him!

Thanks, Donna!! Brunch was very tasty!! I am glad you got to see a bit of Christmas! It wasn’t all up for us either but it was lovely to see it coming to life each day!

We really were having a ball!! There is nothing like Christmas at MK! I highly recommend the CG brunch!!

We walked over to Cinderella’s Castle to meet Katie and found her right away. Thank goodness because by this time, the MK was packed!
Then we all headed over to the Haunted Mansion thinking that the line wouldn’t be bad. Boy were we wrong!!!
The wait time posted was 70 minutes and I have never seen the line this far back:
The line for the Haunted Mansion
But our other two FP’s were not until later because we thought that Katie would not be joining us so soon so we decided to brave it. In actuality, it was a good 40 minutes before we got to Gracey Manor and we honestly didn’t mind as we chatted away about what to do next.
After once again shaking off the hitchhiking ghosts, we decided to ride the wildest ride in the wilderness!! . This also posted a 60 minute wait but it was honestly more like 40.
Next, we headed back towards Tomorrowland and did the Carousel of Progress and then we walked over to Fantasyland and watched Mickey’s Philharmagic.
It was time for dinner next and we were all really excited about eating at CRT. Our excitement dimmed just a bit when we first entered because the PP photographer was not very nice, but truly everyone else was and that castle is magical!!
We were escorted upstairs and seated and given menus. Our waiter told us about the daily catch, which was salmon and then we ordered a bottle of Rosa Regale to split for Meg’s birthday.
The appetizer we all ordered was an antipasti platter and it was very good:
Katie ordered the filet mignonette, I got the salmon and Megan got shrimp. Since we would be heading to the dessert party later on, we declined dessert. I know that a lot of you think that this meal is overpriced and the food is just okay but we really enjoyed our meal here and the view was spectacular!!

Shrimp
Then the princesses came around and were very gracious hostesses! . They chatted with us and signed our autograph books and were so much fun!!
Megan got a birthday cupcake:
After dinner, we saw that the line for the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was not bad, so we hopped in that. We strolled around Fantasyland for a bit and then made our way over to the Tomorrowland Terrace for our dessert party.
I cannot say enough great things about this party!! The desserts were really good, the views are amazing and we all loved Happily Ever After!!! Wow! Just wow!! This was worth every penny we paid for it and I would absolutely do it again!!
They do kick you out promptly after the fireworks but not before giving you a lovely parting gift of a nice bag of Ghirardelli chocolates. We all hot the restroom and then went to Fantasyland for our next FP on 7DMT. The girls loved this ride and thought it was especially cool at night!! Then we went on Peter Pan which we all enjoyed!!
We were starting to fade fast but not before grabbing a few photos on the way out. I think that all of the Disney Parks are beautiful at night but I especially love MK at night.
I know this is starting to sound like a broken record but we truly had a magical day!!!
Steps taken: 22,405
Tomorrow: EPCOT!

It’s so nice that your days are all magical, that’s what Disney is all about. The filet looks delicious and those desserts yummy. We saw happily ever after in Oct and I loved it, the displays on the castle are so well done.

Sounds like a truly magical day. I've never eaten in CRT in all my Disney trips because I've always heard mediocre reviews for the price but I'm so glad you enjoyed your meals.
Another great day for you girls!
Your meal at CRT looked yummy! The dessert party looked great as well!
Some day I hope to talk jeff into doing that again. We did it once, a few years ago but since then the price has gone up substantially, and it's hard to justify paying that much for desserts...3/4 of which I can't eat. BUT, i know the view can't be beat, so one of these days I'm going to insist that we do it! Maybe next year for my 60th birthday! Sounds like a plan, doesn't it?
Looks like an amazing time in the MK. I can't believe the line to HM and never seen it that long. Glad you had a good meal at CRT. I've never ate here as I felt it's overpriced and heard mixed reviews about the food here. The dessert party looked like fun with a great view for HEA.

It does sound like a magical day, even with those long waits for a couple of things, but it sounds as if you made the best of it.
Ok, so there are macarons at the Happily Ever After dessert party? Oh my goodness, how did I not know that? I suspect it's all sold out now for our dates in January, but I may just have to have a look now...

Thank you!! We were honestly having an unbelievable time!! All three of us loved Happily Ever After as well!!
