2nd Trip to WDW and 40th Celebration TR - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sounds like an awesome trip! You took some cool pictures. I love the one of the drum and the dragon in the parade with the moon in the background. Funny, i never realized a person was sitting behind the dragon head. Great day at AK.
Thanks, it was a very awesome trip and happy I was able to celebrate my birthday in such a great place. I love taking pictures and always have a camera in my hand.

I woke about 7:15 but laid in bed until 8. Errett got up and decided to go get some breakfast and while he was gone I got ready and did some stretching cause my feet were still killing me.
We left the room about 10am to catch a bus to HS and immediately got a picture in front of Monsters University in front of the park.
Once we got in the park I saw that Daisy was out so immediately got in line for a picture. After my picture we walked around for a little bit before our 11:30 reservation at 50’s Prime Time. Our server was Micky and he was just wonderful!
Errett had finished lunch before I did and Micky came over and gave Errett the viewfinder and said here HOOVER see what you want for dessert. We both ended up getting the apple crisp but I did not get ice cream on mine. Errett got it on his and when he said he wanted ice cream Micky looked at him and said of course you do.
My dessert had a candle in it and everyone in our section sung happy birthday to me and then Micky threw down a birthday card and everyone in our section signed it. I am definitely doing this restaurant again.
After our filling lunch we walked over and got in line for Captain Jack sparrow. It was not really what I expected but nice little show. We then walked over so Errett could do Animation Academy while I rested and worked on some notes.
Errett's Finished Product:
We then walked around some and noticed that there was only a 10-minute wait for The Great Movie Ride that I really enjoyed and would do this ride again.
Next it was on to the Hollywood Tower of Terror ride, which by recommendation of my dentist I was going to try. As we were walking down we took a photopass picture and the guy said do a scary face and when I did mine he said that it wasn’t scary. I told him I was getting ready to ride this for the first time and I would come show him my face afterwards. We got in line and some of the elevators went down so for non fp people it was a 100 minute wait so I was glad we had fp for this but as we got closer I got more and more uncomfortable but I did end up riding this ride and I can ABSOUTLEY tell you I will NEVER and I mean NEVER EVER EVER ride this again in my life.
Once we left I went back to that photopass photographer and I showed him my scared face and he laughed and said it was way better.
At this point Errett’s fp for Star Wars ride was ready so while he did this I found a nice shaded spot and people watched. Once Errett was done with the ride we went to Writers Stop and I got a snack of a Mickey shaped chocolate chip cookie.
Once I finished half of my snack it was rich and a lot of cookie. We went over to do Indiana Jones. This is a great show that we both enjoy. Once this show was over it was time for our reservation at Hollywood Brown Derby. Our server was Brett and he was great and the food was so good!.

Errett's Dinner:
My Dinner:
After dinner we did a little shopping as the park was closing to let the crowds die down and then we let to go back to the resort to rest.
Funny Story: After we got back to the resort and were just relaxing and talking Errett told me that he had overheard this Dad tell his little boy that the TOT was not scary and the son asked him then who do they call it the Tower of Terror. I laughed so hard as that little boy was absolutely correct. Wonder what he thought of the ride afterwards.
I love your TOT photo - were you holding on to the back of the bench also. Poor thing - I know that the sensation of falling can be terrifying for lots of people. Personally I love it but I understand your fear. Y'all had some tasty looking eats today!
What a fun day at the studios! At least now you can say you've done Tower of Terror and know to skip next time you guys got so much in even with two table service meals!

It was a great day this is one of my favorite parks. I hope you enjoy TOT more than I did cause I am not getting back on that think LOL
Sorry I have been such a slacker about this report. Work has been so crazy with yearly audits, Physical Therapy for my foot, and life in general! I have also been planning our upcoming May trip back to the world for Star Wars Weekend.
On to my EPCOT dayI woke up at 7 this morning but laid in bed until 7:30. I then got up and started getting ready. Then Errett got up and also started getting ready. We were out of the room by 8:25 this morning and made it over to the bus stop. We did not wait long for a bus to Epcot.
Ran in Cinderella
Once we got into Epcot we hurried over to Soarin to get on. I so love this ride and would have been bummed if I would not of been able to ride. Once off we went over to Living with the Land since there was no wait and it was right there.
Next we went to Captain EO. Errett was so excited about this as he remembers this show when he used to go with his family growing up and he was over the top that they brought this back.
Next we started to make our way over to Mission Space for Errett’s FP was going to be ripe soon but we saw that the wait for the Epcot Character Spot was very short so we got in line and got to see Mickey, Minnie, & Goofy.
Once we left here Errett headed towards Mission Space and I headed towards Starbucks to get me a skinny vanilla latte and that hit the spot. I then made my way towards Mission Space and went into the F&W festival showcase to get a gift card so we could eat around the world later. Once out of there I headed to find a spot to wait for Errett to get of MS. We were going to try and do TT but that wait was 100 minutes so that was out and we never did get to ride on this trip.
After that we went over to club cool so Errett could try the sodas. I gave up sodas about a year ago when I basically gave up sugar also. Only buy anything with up to 8 grams of sugar in it so this trip was my big test with that and my weight loss journey. He tried Beverly and said it tasted like Castor oil that I know from growing up is horrible. There was an old man in there that loved it.
After our time in club cool we decided to head over to the WS and started tasting our way thru the F&W festival which for us is just the food festival as I don’t really drink and Errett has gotten allergic to it.
After finishing the festival we came back to Mouse Gears to do some shopping before our dinner reservation at Coral Reef. Since we still had some time we did the Seas with Nemo since there was not line and basically walked on.
After the ride and exploring there we headed to Coral Reef for dinner where we both got the Lobster pasta & chocolate wave for dinner.
Once we were done we headed back to the resort as we had an early day tomorrow, as it was our Breakfast @ Cinderella’s Royal Table. As we were heading out of the park we meet this group of women who wanted a picture of their group in front of the ball at night. I told them it was going to be dark and she asked what type of phone I had and was like I have a camera and showed it to her and she just laughed at that response. I took the picture on one of their phones but don’t know how they were going to fix that. Errett and I stopped for pictures and as we headed more to the front we saw them again and they asked me to take another picture and we got to talking to them and they realized I was there to celebrate my birthday so they sung me Happy Birthday which was a nice end to the day.
