The "I-can't-think-of-a-cool-catchy-title-for-this-PTR" PTR - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

AWWWW YEAH, the food!!!!!! I am so with you on the diet thing too, I do this crazy one that drops the lbs pretty quick I have to say. It's not awful, but I'll do whatever just so I can stuff my face on vaca.
What diet do you do, Linny? I'm only down about 2 lbs I leave in 24 days! I need to shed some lbs! Been doing Zumba to increase my stamina but haven't really been successful at losing weight this time.

it's called the 3 Day Diet, google it and you will find the menus. It is not something you want to do for more than a few weeks. Eating healthy and exercise everyday of course is best, but this is just a little extra bump to jump start the process. Keep up the hard work, I'm loosing baby weight at the moment so I know how you feel
right back at ya! I had fun today at my first PP meet It was so nice to share all of my Disney craziness with someone who got it all!
Out of all your restaurant choices, we have only been to one, 50s Prime Time Cafe. Love it there, but I'm looking forward to your reviews of the other places I do hope that we run into you on your way out of CMC on Sunday, I know the girls would love to meet your boys!

Dawn - your food plans sound AWESOME! We too are going to R&C, Jiko (new for us) and 50's PTC and Ohana! I am totally into the food! I have been trying to lose weight too! I'm glad I'm not the only one!
You will LOVE Jiko!! I could have made a meal out of the flatbread alone! It was fabulous!!

I start thinking about the food from the moment we plan a new trip. Hopefully our dining choices will open up as Jason (fingers crossed) outgrows some of his allergies. I had such a nice time today in the beautiful weather with Jenn!

LOVE R&C!! When we went when I was pregnant with Josie we had an ADR for the inside place at the Mexico, but while walking past the fish and chips sign ( and being preggers) I said, uhm change of plans! They had a table outside and we loved every minute of it. Hope you all enjoy too.
That 7:20 ADR for CMC is a great idea. We had one early like that for CM last year when staying at the Poly, we got out of there and over to MK for rope drop and it was nice to get so much done so early in the day too
I'm shocked you didn't do Ohana for dinner too. I love both breakfast and dinner there, YUMMMM
Awesome to have a PP meet today, it was beautiful all day. But hey, isn't there a Starbucks somewhere between our hoods??? I'm game for a sunday drive
Okay...I'll be googling your diet. I'll do my best until about a week before and then maybe I'll try that for a little pre-trip boost.
I think the 7:20 ADR is great too, hoping to get to MK early that day. I'll keep thinking it's great at least until the alarm goes off that morning though.
Don't get in between a preggers and her choice of dinner!!
I would LOVE to do Ohana for dinner, but there are too many things I wouldn't want to eat at the table with Jason. Hopefully someday.
You know...I don't pass a single Starbucks on our way to OC!! There used to be one near Hammonton but it's something else now. We stop on the AC expressway. You find a mid-way Starbucks and I'm there though baby!!

That's the best part about us PPers...we all 'get it'! Where others roll their eyes at us, we just nod and say "Yeah, I know!!"
I hope we'll run into each other. Our ressies seem to be timed to do that. I'd love for the boys to meet your girls.

Your food sounds awesome! YUMMY!!! I can't wait to see all of the food photos! And how fun to have a mini PP meet up there! I love talking about Disney with fellow Disney-freaks. They don't look at me funny!
Love the dining choices Especially Y& Y I had the duck which I love and while it was very different I wouldn't hesitate to get it again but might ask the put sauce on the side
Love the dining plans. Of course the foods important...it's guilt free food because it's vacation and when else do you get that? Besides, if you're like me...I look at vacation and think of all the dishes I won't have to do for the week. Yup...all about the getting out of dishes for me.
Great dining choices! I love LTT for a "holiday" meal--it'll be great for before the party!
I love the homestyle holiday feel of the food there. And we've always thought it was delicious too!

That't the best part. And it was funny that we both took out our calendars that we brought with us, without even discussing it beforehand.

Both my husband and our oldest picked Y&Y because of the ribs. I had the bourbon chicken and rice there last trip and I think it was my favorite meal of the trip.

Yup...guilt free. Just like birthday food! And I never even thought of the dishes. Extra bonus!!
The ADR's look great. I am not checking so I can find out in your report, so I hope FD was extended to your trip!
I wish I had a fellow PPer close to me to help me deal with all of my Disney craziness. I don't think there are too many Disneyaholics in Oklahoma, unfortunately.
Glad you got to meet with her and enjoy the nice fall day!
Your dining choices look FAB!!!! Since I had to cancel my ADRs , please humor me and let me comment on yours! The funny thing is, even though I'm not going back right now, I'm soooo excited for you and I love reading all of your plans. Okay.... Rose & Crown- we haven't tried this one yet, but after reading other TRs I know we would love it! I would love to watch Illuminations from there! Mama Melrose – never tried this one either. Anxious to read your review!! Cape May Café – we've only done dinner {which we }, but read nothing but awesome reviews about breakfast here!! And....so convenient staying at BC!! Liberty Tree Tavern - LTT!!! Will def go back again...great choice for party night at MK!!
50’s Prime Time Café - we've eaten here twice....great dining experience & the food is sooo good! I really love the pot roast-but the boys like the meatloaf too! Yak & Yeti - I had stolen your idea for getting an ADR at park closing!!! Maybe next trip.
The menu looks awesome!!! Breakfast at Ohana - we've only done dinner, but I'm sure breakfast is just as good!!! Dinner at Jiko...never tried it, but I'm looking forward to reading all about it! Of course, I expect PICTURES of everything!!!!!!!!!!! Please?????
