Living the dream and remembering the Bagman UPDATED 3/21 - Page 49 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Your packing a lot in so far in the MK. Too funny with IASM and Mark's attitude towards it! If you really wanted to torture him, you could set up with a CM to have it shutdown temporarily while you're on it!
I don't think so! Don't get me wrong, I like It's A Small World, but I couldn't do it more than once in one go.

That is quite bizarre with the stain on Marks shirt. Probably just from the combo of wood and metal and some rust from the canals.
Ok, that makes me feel better, as that would make sense and it doesn't sound nearly so mysterious when you put it like that.
Friday 23 September – part five: “what’s the problem?”
We didn’t get a chance to go up for the buffet at the Crystal Palace for some time, as the characters were rapidly heading towards us. Barb was wearing a T-shirt, saying vote Mickey for president. She told every character she saw they had to vote, and they all agreed, and then she’d offer them a job in government. We thought maybe Pooh for minister of hunny, although I did point out that would mean he’d need to share, and he wasn’t too keen on that…
Now when Piglet turned up, Mark was a bit mean and had the salt in his hand in the photos that he had taken with him, but he seemed to get away with it…
Barb had a conversation with Piglet again about the role he could play in the government. She first suggested ministry of agriculture… that was fine… then she came up with ministry of spam. We don’t think Piglet quite got that on, as he seemed Ok with it. She then suggested ministry of bacon, and that was it – poor old Piglet was off, scurrying away to another table. This time it was Barb who’d upset him!
Finally, it was time to go up to the buffet, and as always, they had a good selection on offer:
Here’s what I came back with first time around…
I think you can guess what Mark returned with?
Second time around, I had some of this…
… and then I sampled most of the desserts, all of which were excellent.
Now by this time, the characters had started to make their second sweep, and Piglet reached our table. This time, he saw Mark with the fork and salt, and ran off to hide behind this server…
At first, she was like “what’s the problem?” and was trying to encourage Piglet to go back and see Mark. Then she realised what Mark was up to, and immediately consoled Piglet, and told Mark to apologise. Gosh, this does remind me of how this whole thing started! It was just classic, with Piglet very gradually edging up to Mark, then Mark would make any form of movement, and Piglet would flinch away again. I ended up having to play peace maker between my husband and a pig!
It was not long after this that our server spotted Barb and Bob’s buttons that said they were celebrating Bill’s life, and she asked about it. We told her all about him, and she kind of seemed overwhelmed and didn’t know what to say. She moved off, and we thought nothing more about it, at least until this turned up… This was so sweet.
By now, my donkey had come to see me…. Oh Ok and the rest of them too
Finally, Pooh made it back and it was like he was either on heat or had a whole lotta love, as Barb and I got the hand kissing treatment, and he was drawing hearts at us… not what we usually get from Pooh, but very much appreciated all the same!
Now if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll have noticed by now we’ve had one visit from Eeyore, and two from Pooh and Piglet. You may have realised I haven’t mentioned Tigger. There would be a good reason for that. We hadn’t seen him at all after 90 minutes. He seemed to end up on a different rotation to the others, and completely skipped us. We spoke to the handlers, and I don’t think they were overly impressed by that. We then had a Tigger change out time just before he got to us, which was even more frustrating. Finally, bouncy boy arrived, and he was very good and wanted us all to bounce along with him!
All in all, we had an absolute blast at the Crystal Palace with the characters. I think Bob summed it up when he said he’d never laughed so much at a meal here before, and that shows it must’ve been good. Our server was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the food was as good as always. Ok, so there’s a donkey boy who keeps drawing me back each time, but is it any wonder we return with such fun times?

You guys always have such fun with the 100 Acre Woods pals! It's so cute! That Eeyore is so cuddly, gosh I love him! We had the same issue with Tigger actually. We missed him in the rotation too, and then the handlers didn't believe us that we didn't see him. Come on now, who would make this stuff up? He finally made it after we had paid the check!

Wondering what on earth was in the water at Pirates to stain Mark's shirt. What fun you all had at the Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. So glad that you got a picture with your donkey. The whole Piglet thing was hysterical and I could tell by your faces that fun was ensuing for sure!

He is the best, let's be honest!

It was one of the best Piglet encounters we've had in a while!

What a fun lunch! You can see the server is really reprimanding Mark for mistreating Piglet - but then he still tries to stick a fork in him! So naughty!
