Oh the Places We Go, The People We See Updated 11/03/2013 - Page 47 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

How very cute. Have a boy I never even considered BBB and was always a little leery of it thinking they made the girls up to be pageant girls. Nice to see the very toned down make up. It is really age appropriate but what else would you expect from Disney
I thought the same thing, Holly. Somehow this is very different. There's none of the aim to be seductive that the pageant style so often seems to promote. They're just little girls playing dress-up.
Love all the photos. The reactions from each girl were different, but great in their won way too. So glad Abby liked it. What a magical experience!
This has me wanting to do the Pirate's League so bad with my boys!
Love it! Three beautiful girls! It's adorable to see how pleased they are when they see the final product. It would be very hard with all these great photos to pick a favorite photo of each girl. It's fun, with Claire, to see the difference each year. She looks so much more grown-up this year.
Claire is growing. She loves to play dressup and be girly. Though you should see the makeup she puts on when she does it. I guess she isn't aware that her lips are where they are and covers about an inch around them.

They were all happy with it. It's a fun experience for them too. It's amazing how they put up with the brushing and pulling but at home they scream and cry.

Well in their minds they are royalty every day. LOL. But we managed.

I totally understand that thought. I had a friend who had her very young daughter in pagents for awhile and she took her out. She said that 2 years old they had to wear heavy make up and even teas the hair if they had any. She said that had nothing to do with beauty at all. And the girls were to dress in sexy type dresses at times or do sexy poses. It seemd a little too much.

Yes. This is more on th lines of play dress up look. Though When Claire puts makeup on at home I sometimes thinks she got her tips from a streetwalker. LOL It's not that she is trying for that look, it's just that she has no clue how to put it on. The more the better in play world I guess.

This has me wanting to do the Pirate's League so bad with my boys!
They did all have a different reaction and that was kind of fun.
I want to take Claire to Pirates league but so far she has said no.
Claire still had one more finishing touch needed. She had to have her crown that we brought along placed on her royal head.
Now she looks perfect.
And so does Princess Alexis.
Princess Abby, in true Cinderella fashion, kept losing her glass slipper.
Early on during the appointment, Aunt Mary had handed me a gift card. She said she still had money on it and was probably not going to use it, so we could use it to pay for the girls. She said she wasn’t sure what was left on it. Well I think she did and she was being sneaky. During the appointment a Fairy Godmother in Training came over to take my payment and I handed her the gift card. I figured I would find out how much was on it, use it on Claire and divide the amount by 3 and give Gail her portion in cash. Well it more than covered Claire’s amount and it still had a large amount left on it ….like $120 or more. I was shocked. I don’t know why Aunt Mary didn’t apply this to her shipboard account, but she is sneaky that way, always spoiling the girls. So I handed off the card to Gail. I told her how much was left, but I don’t think she understood me and she paid hers in cash. I then told her again how much was left. She said she would just have the girls buy something then for themselves later in the day. Well somehow Aunt Mary felt Claire didn’t get enough use out of the gift card. I told her it worked out perfectly and it basically worked out to an equal amount for each kid. She told me not to argue and gave me another $40 for Claire to spend. I am not quite sure how that math worked out at all. LOL.
We all gathered our belongings then and headed out.
Our next stop was to get a photo shoot for the girls at Castle Couture. We had to wait a bit as there were a few kids in front of us.
Then it was our turn. Abby wasn’t sure about this and at first said no pictures. We then played the game with her that always works. “Abby, if you don’t want your picture, that’s ok. Uncle Geoff will go in and stand by the girls.” It’s so hilarious but it works every time. If she won’t do something, we tell her Geoff will do it instead and she runs quickly before he has a chance to get there and do it. It’s going to be funny some day when she doesn’t care and Geoff will be force to do whatever it is. LOL.
Abby did tire, so we did a few with just Alexis and Claire.
And then Alexis by herself.
Abby found something to occupy herself.
We coaxed Abby to get a few with Alexis then.
Claire’s turn.
They then got the chaise out and all 3 girls came back.
She looks so innocent there.
“Hey Uncle Geoff! Don’t even think about sitting on this chair!”
Claire got a turn on the chaise as well.
And then Alexis.
As you can see, getting the photopass CD was well worth it for us. We had a ton of pictures taken during the experience and after.
The girls did a little shopping afterwards.
I don’t think we bought anything because I didn’t want to carry it around for the rest of the night. This was Gail’s last day so, so I am sure the girls found a few things they liked.

The girls are very pretty after BBB. You are right the photopass CD was really worth it for that shoot. The photographers were really generous with their shots. You certainly have a excellent selection of pix to choose from for Christmas cards this year.
That was a fantastic photoshoot! Again, I'd have a very hard time choosing a favorite shot. Once Abby scurried over to keep Uncle Geoff out (so funny!) she seemed to cooperate very well! Very sweet of Aunt Mary to give you the gift card and then even more money for Claire.
Great photoshoot! The girls look so happy and excited, even Abby.
They had a good time.

We have used this tactic for over a year now with Abby and so far it works.

Beautiful pictures of the girls! That is a funny story of how you use Uncle Geoff to get Abby to do things. You're right though, it's going to be hilarious when she doesn't care and he really has to fill in for her
