Fall, Firsts, Food And The Final Frontier TR - UPDATED 11/11 - COMPLETE!! - Page 46 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Actually, we've taken it off for November as we too are trying to get in more of the new places as well as get in a few old ones we've not been to in a long while.
It's always a tough go when weighing out the choices and most especially with DS!! I still have Al Forno, Flying Fish (revamped), Boathouse, Art Smith's and Paddlefish that are on the top of my list to try. I certainly won't get all of these possibilities in during my October trip! Still others I need to try as well like Olivia's, Yak & Yeti 1900 PF and Tusker House. But have dined at so many!

Thursday, October 20th (Part VI) After finishing up at Morimoto, I took a walk outside and do a little exploring in this part of Disney Springs. I probably was out here for fifteen minutes. I got a few photos as well.
One of the new eateries in Disney Springs and one I want to try. Just don’t know when with so many new additions here!
Characters in Flight in the Springs. Never tried this but may one day.
View of Morimoto kitchen from outside, which is a good idea for the restaurant to do this and draw people in.
After spending some time walking around Disney Springs, I returned to Morimoto for more exploring. I didn’t think, I’d be back this soon!
The upstairs bar at Morimoto, which I’d be visiting in a few minutes
Quite the view!
Upstairs sushi bar
I was done with my exploring and went to the upstairs bar and have something I was craving.

I looked over the drink list and knew what I wanted before sitting down, but had to decide on the type. It was sake and they had an extensive variety of them. The one that interested me was the sake sampler and that’s what I went with. Some were dry, sweet and unfiltered. You got four small pourings and I enjoyed them all!
After enjoying my sake, I saw it was getting late as it was nearly 11 pm. It was time to return to the B Resort, which was about a fifteen minute walk from The Landing in Disney Springs. Of course, I had to get some photos, while I walked back.
One of the things I associate Downtown Disney with before it became Disney Springs
No time to visit tonight as I spent enough at Morimoto!
Very quiet here now. The stairwell behind is to the Green Garage, which will take me across the street to Hotel Plaza Boulevard, where I’m staying
View of Marketplace entry from stop of stairwell
Indoor covered bridge to other side of Hotel Plaza Boulevard
In just about five minutes I was back at the B Resort. In my two times at the revamped Disney Springs on this trip, I think I can say I walked it all from the Marketplace to the Westside. I guess I have seen it all and the many new additions, most notably in The Landing and Town Center areas. There are so many new eateries now and a few more to come. It will take several trips to experience all of them I have an interest in!
Love the lighting at night!
Bus depot at the B Resort and I love these couches!
It was 11:30 pm and has been quite a long day. I was tired, so I returned to my room. I got my things ready for my day in Hollywood Studios tomorrow, which will be my last full day on this trip. I wouldn’t be arriving for rope drop as I have something planned prior to going to Studios. It will be a long day there tomorrow with a few new experiences, I was looking forward to.
I wrote down my notes for the day and watched some TV for a while, before falling asleep with it on!
NEXT: What a Great Way to Start the Day!

I had such a great and long day from my day at KSC to finishing it off at night with a great meal at Morimoto! DS is more beautiful at night now and I loved the sake flight! Muffin will not be disappointed with it!
Right now I'm looking at dining options for Atlantic City as I'll be there for a couple of days a week from now! Staying at the Tropicana with the free room offer!

Great ending to your day with a sake sampler at Morimoto! I love all your photos of this restaurant, not only is it delicious dining, but it's also such a beautiful restaurant.

It's just amazing inside Morimoto and I could have taken far more photos! The food was great and want to return, but so many others in DS to experience and usually can't do more than two visits at most here and possibly one, depending on my resort! Glad I brought justice to this TR with some great photos inside Morimoto!

You are so right about all the new places to eat at Disney Springs. I'm already having an issue fitting in the new places due to open later this year and there are so many others still to try. Mind you, Disney have done exactly what they wanted to do with it in a way and given people lots of reasons to keep coming back.
Great photos of Disney Springs at night! Yes, it certainly has come a long way and definitely more of a draw these days with so many places to eat!
The walkway over to the resort area is a good addition!

It's been a dilemma for me as well for as much as I want to try many of these new eateries in DS, I don't want to spend all my dinners there as I like having dinners in the parks and resorts as well. You are reight about Disney's philosophy regarding this!

I love the new walkway as so open. I remember DS a few years ago once Pleasure Island was closed and before the new additions how empty Downtown Disney would be. Not like that now, when I was there in October.
