As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Josie is so sweet ! Love that she woke up early and was content to look at the castle.
Great of you to sprinkle some magic of your own by giving up your ADR so early in the day!
What a lovely way to wake up, with Josie's sweet comment about the castle. Great morning at MK. The dance party sounds like fun! So cute that Andre really clung to Arnaud on this trip, and they both obviously loved every moment making up for lost time. I hope Andre didn't have a hard time when you returned home and Daddy went back to work.
I couldn't help but smile at Josie's comment about the castle. Looks and sounds like you had a great morning at AK. Glad Josie enjoyed HM after not wanting to ride it. I've always enjoyed Kona Cafe too, glad you had a great lunch!
What a great day so far! We love Kona Cafe! Never had lunch there, only bfast and dinner and never any complaints!! I am amazed too that you can pretty much always get adr's there even at the last minute, especially since it is so convenient if you are in MK or on the monorail.
Love how Josie was sitting behind the curtains looking at the castle! So sweet!
35 lbs! Andre is only 5 lbs lighter than Sam who is 44 inches tall! Your baby boy is growing up fast!
Love the pics of the kids with the princesses, looks like Andre was doing a little flirting!

Do you have any pro's and con's yet for the dates you chose, or has everything been great so far? It seems great reading your TR but I am just wondering since we are planning on the week of Sept 14th next year and its been a while since we have done September. I know it will be warm and probably a bit more humid than Oct-Dec, maybe a few more afternoon showers but crowd wise it seems like you are doing great?

Great morning - especially the way it started with cute Josie and the early morning castle viewing.
Haven't eaten at KC yet, but it's on my short list!

I wanted to throw this little mini update in on the GF construction of the DVC Villas. As you know we are also big lovers of the GF and didn’t mind about booking our trip there while the DVC construction was going on, but then when we heard of all the other construction going on in the main part of GF that is when I had to move this reservation.
I have been trying to keep up with news going on at the GF and I was reading one thread about how people were all upset about the new DVC area and how it is an eyesore. Maybe looking at construction of that size is an eyesore, but it’s hardly what I would call it. I know when it is finished it will look amazing. I will say that I feel like that area does look crowded now though. It looks like it is starting to get crammed over there and if they ever decide to put in DVC at the Poly, I read that that also would be over in that direction too. I’m sure Disney has a great plan in place and I wouldn’t worry about it so much, but until it’s finished no one can really say how it will look, but at the moment, I thought it looked crowded.
I did see the new water play feature from going by on the monorail, I tried to get pics of it but that area looks completely adorable.
What a great day so far! I absolutely love Josie's comment about the castle!
It started a trend actually, with looking at the castle in the early AM. I'll get to that very soon

I was told that you pick your tier, and your seat is not assigned at that time. It is assigned when they print out your tickets. Basically, when you pick the tickets up, you get the next best seat in the house in your tier. Which would make sense in the way of, you picked yours up right before you went.
The only time I have done a dinner show, I picked up the tickets as soon as we arrived at the resort. We had awesome seats.
Not sure if this is how it really is done or not, considering everyone seems to have been told alternate things, but it's what I was told.
Well that could make sense I guess, I'll have to remember that in future trips.

I thought of it like that too, some random family maybe walking up to get a last minute ressie, I hope that happened for someone!

YES, do so. I have never eaten there for breakfast but have for dinner twice and lunch twice. Breakfast to me is a wash meal, doesn't do a whole lot for me I guess.

He was super cranky when Daddy went back to work, and I was thrown back into reality as well. It was sweet though to see baby duck following daddy duck all around though

Yeah, there is nothing small about him, never was. I have never in my life had back pain before, but I do now with having to hold him down when he is kicking and screaming over getting his diaper changed. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to go in potty training mode real soon with him, for many reasons

I have always had good luck with Sep, it's hot but not humid at all. I think though that the week before we went is a really slow week. Read Kelly's ( Oh Toodles) TR because she said it was crazy slow. At times I felt like the park was crowded, but it never made for a huge wait in line. I have heard that this time of year is starting to get more popular, but could never be likt the summer corowds I'm sure.

Josie in the morning - ! Dylan asks us to go to the bathroom - always has and I can't seem to break him of that at home either, so we get woken.
Love those princess pics! Andre looked like he was having fun! I hear you on the heavy kid! Lukas isn't quite that heavy but he's close. I think a few weeks ago he was at 27 pounds and Dylan was only 10 more.
We've always had breakfast at Kona and love it! We'll have to try lunch in the future.
I'm so excited about DVC @ GF - it's how we'll finally get to stay there! That pool area looks so cool! Alice themed? I mean come on!
And September is a good time to go - we had no troubles. It is still hot though.
