Sparky's Gone to the World- A TR 9/13/11-9/20/11 - Page 46 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We have talked over and over and started lists for the next family trip which was suppose to be in 2014. DH has admitted that he would like to shoot for 2013, which is fine by me! We just have to work on catching up with debt before we can do that. This is the trip that my DH got bit by! Bit by the Disney Bug! So hopefully we can buckle down and get this going!
We have decided that on the next trip the following are must do ADR's...
Le Cellier (DH wants to try for 2 ADR's!)
Cape May Clambake
'Ohana for Breakfast
Crystal Palace
CRT
These will be left out next trip to make room for all new places to try...hopefully Garden Grill finally??...
Sci Fi Dine in Theater
LTT
'Ohana
Finally, on our maybe...we'll see how they work in the schedule ADR's...
Donald's Safari Breakfast
1900 Park Fare
We also want to see about getting another dinner show in as we very much enjoyed the Spirit of Aloha show in 2009. Not sure whether we will try out the Hoop Dee Doo or stick with the Luau though.
This trip was excellent! It exceeded my dreams of what our vacation could be. We got along great the whole time (which is a feat when you're not use to being together 24 hours a day) and we all enjoyed everything together. I can only hope our future trips are as magical.
Thanks for following along on my TR even though it took me so long. I will be doing a whole different format for the next PTR. Tune in to see.
If you have enjoyed my writings about my adventures with the Mouse, be sure to follow me on my new thread.....
It is the trip that has been 2 years in the making by the time we go. It's finally time for FFP!!!! I will be doing a Pre-PTR about my savings through surveys to pay my way to FFP. Can it be done? How close will I get? How much do I need to save? Oh boy!
I leave you with random pics taken throughout the trip. Please forgive me if there are any repeats. OH! And tomorrow when it's daylight I will take a pic of my pocketbook, clock, and pearl to post.
Some pics from It's a Small World one of DD favorite rides, and she kept hollering "Take pictures! Take pictures!" So here are the results, some of them...not too bad if I do say so myself.
The 1900 Park Fare pics I missed during that entry...
PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. Great final day at the World! Sorry you had the grouchy lady behind you at the airport though!
It was a great ending to a fantastic trip! That lady was awful grouchy! Oh well, we let it go, not wanting to spoil our grand ending. Thanks for following along and be sure to check out my newest PTR, I am SO super excited about it!
Thanks for sharing your tirp with us, I enjoyed reading along! Heading over to the Survey PrePTR now!
Yw! I am glad you have enjoyed it. Not a whole lot on the new Pre-PTR right now, but I figured ya'll could subscribe so you will be notified when I post!
Thanks Shelly! I can't believe it, but this is finally done. I am so happy, bc now I can work on my Pre PTR for Surveys to WDW!
Thanks for keeping up with my slow as molasses TR.
Thank goodness your TR was so slow---or I never could have kept up with the little time I have spent here since discovering surveys!
About your ADR hopes for next trip....I HIGHLY recommend 1900 Park Fare dinner and Cape May for breakfast or the clam bake. They were our 3 top picks from last trip.
I am starting to map out our choices for August...I have toyed with starting the PTR report already....but figure I will still not be consistent here so I will wait a while...

I hear you on that with the surveys. Now with the goal I have...oh boy!
Cape May is on our must do for the Clambake, and 1900 Park Fare is on the maybe list. We really liked it, and in the end I will probably only leave off 1-2 and 1900 Park Fare is way more apt to beat out the others for a go.
It really comes down to what will fit in with our plans and which meals (breakfast, lunch or dinner)they are when it comes to the maybe's.
I finally had some time to catch up on everything. Sounds like you really had an amazing trip. Good luck getting in in 2013 and not 2014. I hear you with the debt reduction and savings. I hope to go in 2013 as well but will probably be 2014.

We did Holly thanks! I know, I would love the 2013 idea, but it seems like unless something spectacular happens...it will still be 2014. I just don't tell DH that, or else he might hold me to it...even if something spectacular happens!
Great wrap up! I always take one last look at the castle before walking out too. You just never know when you're going to be back. Sorry about that nasty lady at the airport. I just don't understand the rudeness of some people. When I encounter people that don't seem friendly around Hope, I always say loudly, "Some people just don't like children, and that's why they don't know how to act around something so cute." Usually shuts them up for good.
Great way to end your trip!! It's always so sad to leave and get on that DME bus. I can't believe what a witch that lady was in the secruity line! She's lucky she wasn't standing in line with me! Great final thoughts. Hopefully you'll be able to pull off a trip for 2013. I'm now off to read your Pre-PTR!
