As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

It was truly beautiful and I will start by posting some photos from Friday. Me, Adrienne, Megan and Gabby all went to our nail salon and were blown away by the reception we received!! Those guys had a beautiful table set up with roses and balloons. They also chipped in and gave Katie a money gift!! The whole scene made me cry!!
Adrienne and I bought a bottle of champagne and cookies and shared them with everyone!!
Then we stopped at my house to drop off the flowers and balloons and then headed to the rehearsal and dinner. First we went to set up the tables:
Katie made all of the centerpieces and put fairy lights in them. They turned out amazing!! For favors, we had little M and M bags that had their names and the date on them and little marble bears and wolves for everyone.
The Stone Barn Inn is simply gorgeous and we had use of the entire facility. I only have couple of pictures from today for the rehearsal so I will describe it as best I can.
It is an old barn with a mill and a pond. The barn, itself, is huge and is broken up into three rooms, which I loved!! We set up one room for cocktails, one for dinner and one for dancing!!
Sean, my niece Alex and Megan
Mike
The weather forecast for tomorrow was very iffy, so they had their rehearsal outside where there is a shire and where they really wanted to be married with a back up plan to be married inside in front of the huge stone fireplace. Sorry, no pictures of that.
Then we went to a lovely restaurant called Brandywine Prime for a delicious celebration!! There were lovely hors de oeuvres for cocktail hour and then we had a choice of tomato bisque or salad for starters. For our main course, we had a choice of salmon, steak or chicken. The desserts were assorted canapes, chocolate covered strawberries and cookies. All was wonderful!!
This is me, Katie, Michael, Sean and Megan
My babies!!
Andy's Mom
Me and Adrienne
Andy's dad ( Andy) and Dave
Ellie, the flower girl and her Mom Maureen
You know these people!
Andy's parents
Some of the groomsmen
Me and the most handsome ring bearer I have ever seen!
Gabby, Mike and Meg with Sean, Dave and Muffin in the background
After dinner, the boys went home and the girls all headed to the hotel because the hair and makeup people were coming at 7 AM tomorrow!!
There was, of course, some drama as a few of the bridesmaids did not know when to stop drinking, but in the end, it really didn't matter!
Adrienne and I set our alarms for 5 AM because we wanted to shower and clean up a bit before the hair and make up people arrived!! We went down to the lobby to get coffee and after getting ready, started waking up the girls, which was no small feat!
At 7 AM sharp, everyone arrived and started immediately setting up. We had two make up artists and two hairstylists and to say they were amazing would be an understatement! Here are some photos from our session:
Well, it didn't rain!! In fact, the sun came out about an hour before the ceremony!! Here are just a few pictures:
I chickened out at the last minute on the singing, but Muffin's speech was amazing!! We had a kid's table with a basket of toys and activities, the music was wonderful, we had glow bracelets for everyone to wear while dancing and we had sparklers to send them off:
It really was like a fairytale and I can't think of anyone who didn't thank us for a fabulous time!!
What a wonder wedding! So glad everything turned out great including the sun shining. Looks like everyone had a great time and the bride of course looked beautiful!
Oh Tara everything looked wonderful. Katie's dress was gorgeous on her. They make a nice couple. I love the rehearsal dinner venue. Very pretty. I think your grandson resembles your husband.
Looks like everyone had a great time! Thanks so much for sharing!

It was a near perfect day and everyone was so happy!!
Tara see all the time and effort you devoted to worrying about things that MIGHT go wrong could have been spent doing other things
As to your claims that the wedding was a success I have to call you on that one. I have scoured the Philadelphia News Papers and broadcast media websites and find NO mention of . No list of casualties or injuries sustained No mention of the An Garda Siochana being called or of calling for re-enforcements Are you sure had an IRISH wedding
What a success the wedding was and looks all went well! Everyone looks so good all decked out and having such a great time! Love all the photos and especially of those of preparing for the wedding. I still think scoping out various neighbors flowerbeds for bloomers would have been the way to go for the bloomers in the various floral arrangements as it would have saved you a lot of loot! Just invest in a good pair of shears next time!
