As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I can totally relate to Patty’s worry. I had lost several things last Spring. I was surprised at how calm she was. But once she had made sure no one could use her card to charge with, she seemed a bit happier. We walked around the area, and no such luck for us. We spotted a CM with a broom, so we went over to him. I looked at his name tag, and it said he was from Kissimmee. That had to be a lie. When we asked if a card had been found in the area….he replied with…blah blah blah. …Yep, We had no clue what he said. It sounded like a Jamaican accent. I think we asked him 3 times and all just looked at each other like what the heck…but then Mindy must speak a little Jamaican because she finally understood that he said to go to City Hall. We decided to take a spin on Buzz now that it was running again. Patty felt better now, and was going to just keep going for a bit.
Patty and Mindy rode together.
I didn’t even attempt any pictures on the ride…I was too busy kicking butt. LOL
I did get our redneck photos though on the way out.
We tried to get on the People Mover, but it was closed. It was 11 and official park closing time. There was one more showing of the MSEP though, so we headed towards the hub. I wanted to watch it in Liberty Square. It usually has great spots to see it, but that wasn’t too be. The parade had reached the hub already and there was absolutely no way to get though. So we stopped behind some people to watch from there. This was not an ideal spot at all. I took a lot of pictures, but most are really bad. We had some adults in front of us that didn’t seem to care about anyone around them. The guy had on a tall mad Hatter hat and it was hard to see around him. They also had a bubble gun and kept shooting it. The wind was blowing slightly….into my face. And the bubbles smelt really bad. Not sure what it was, but they just had a horrid smell. Who wants that in your face, along with it popping on your skin. They passed this gun around from person to person and finally the kid got it and wouldn’t stop…and I had had it with the bubbles. So I nicely, but firmly asked the kid to stop blowing the bubbles as they were going in my face. One of the adults quickly turned around and asked me what I said to the kid, so I told her. She just said oh, and turned around. I think she was stunned I had said something. LOL! Probably my stern face was telling her to not argue about it.

When the parade ended, some CM’s came over to take down the poles and ropes. This CM in front of me couldn’t get the rope off the pole. She was worried and asked for help. I picked the pole out of the ground untwisted the rope and handed it to her. Evidently that was the wrong thing to do as I got a dirty look and she put the pole back in, then asked for help, and another CM came over and did the same thing. Oh well. I tried.
Patty decided she wanted to go back to the Yacht Club and get her new KTTW and make sure everything was taken care of. I think they were also going to stop at City Hall as well, but I found out later they never did. I wanted to linger a bit longer. I actually hoped to get back to Fantasyland to take some pictures, but it was completely closed off. I worked my way through the shops. It was still crowded and I didn’t want to just stand at the bus stop, so I figured the longer I took the less wait I would have when I got there.
After a while, Mindy texted me and let me know that she had left her brownie and drink in my bag. I told her I would text her when I got back to YC and she could meet up with me to get it. I believe they were just getting on the bus and said the wait wasn’t actually too bad.
I continued taking pictures.
I went into the art store, something I never had done before and it was really neat to see all the different pictures. I wish I had the money to buy a couple. They were amazing.
And a quick walk through the candy shop.
As I walked out I noticed some magical sounds and a bit of music I believe. It was the Magic Kingdom’s “kiss Goodnight’. I had never seen this before and though it wasn’t anything super special, it was still nice to be part of.
I also wanted to get a couple pictures of P and F before I left…and I waited and waited and waited. This young couple was in front of me and they took 5 zillion pictures. And the guy then videotaped the girl. He was interviewing her about her first day at MK. It was sweet, but I was tired and just wanted to snap a couple and leave.
I then left.
It was about midnight when I made my way to the bus and walked right on with no wait whatsoever. The driver would ask each person where they were going. I think he was going to avoid any resorts that didn’t have passengers, but sadly, as we waited, more people trickled on and there was at least one person per stop.
I put the camera away for the night. When I got to the Yacht Club, I texted Mindy to meet me out at a bench nearby. She found me and we talked. And I handed off the brownie. She was full of energy and talked away. Finally I said I had to get to bed. I think it was almost 1:30 before I got back to the room, and I was beat. It was another wonderful, but long day. And we had more fun planned for the next one.

How did you get the cute borders on them? I know you edit your photos, did you do that in photoshop? is there an easy way to do it? I was trying to mess around in photoshop today and I am CLUELESS!!! lol

What a great end to the night. I love the photos from the Main Street shops, mainly because you never see any photos from there when it's so deserted.
It was nice to room some shops with very little people. I like to do it. I wish I could have the park all to myself for just one day!

I am plying around with a couple programs. Some are done in photosho and some are done in photoscape, which you can download for free. I like the photscape flares better, but I have a hard time controlling where to put them.

I have CS3, so not sure how the other programs work. But I always resize my pictures to 4x6 with resoultion 300 pixels per inch. (unless I want a different size) then I do my editing. And then I save that picture in a folder (to be printed later or just saved to disc. Then I add the border. I have it so all I have to do is hit F12 and it applies it. But I had to set it up in actions. But what I did is opened the canvas size and set it to like 35 pixels and a white border. I also checked the relative box and hit OK. Then I reopened and clicked like 80 pixels and the border black, which made it thicker. I don't know if those are the exact numbers ,but something like that. But I recorded it on actions and designated it to F12, so all I have to do is click that.
I then resize it to 640 pixels on the biggest side as this board has a pixel restriction (as do a few others) and then save it again, but not in the same folder, just in my pictures, as I load them online, I will delete them each day.
Make any sense? I played around a lot till I got it. LOL
