Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

At Epcot, I could skip FW and go straight to WS. But my family would get bored, they actually need to get on some rides.

Usually Arben is sneaky and gets out of helping. This time I won't let him.

# 5 Illuminations

This is my favorite nighttime show. I get teary eyed every time.

With this being the first time staying in a villa, there's a couple of things I don't know. So here are couple of questions:

1. What kind of coffee maker does the villa have? Is it a regular one or a Keurig?

2. What other kitchen electric appliances are there? Toaster, can opener, etc.

3. Is there any dishwashing liquid? How about detergent?

I'm sorry that I can't help you with any of your questions, but I'm sure someone on the boards will jump in with the answer(s)!
I've never seen Illuminations--it generally rains on the night is planned for. Someday.....
How great the boys helped with the packing! They're really growing up, aren't they? How was confirmation and communion?
Sorry, no FB friend request, I'm not a member of it. Sorry. I'll just have to be patient and wait for the TR.
By this time next week you will be in the Bubble!

I promised you some photos, so here they are. The quality is not very good because they were taken with my cellphone.

Adriel's First Communion
There are no photos of the actual ceremony, they weren't allowed.

My baby Adriel

I must note that I am wearing high platform sandals and AJ is still taller than me.

Abniel's Confirmation

My Dad was his Sponsor

Aww, too bad you're not on FB. I can maybe hop in here but there won't be any pics.

I hope you get to watch Illuminations someday. It is truly an amazing show.

I just included the photos from the Communion and Confirmation.

Illuminations always make me tear up. it.

The one-bedroom villa will have full size appliances for the stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. A toaster is included, and the coffee maker is a regular one. Luke would love to have a Kuerig, but Disney hasn't done that yet at Kidani. I am pretty sure there will be a can opener, and I'm sure there are dishes, glasses, pots, pans, silverware, basically everything you need to cook and eat. Dishwasher detergent, dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent are included and you can ask for more if needed.

Thanks Cam! Good to know all this info. The reason I ask about the coffee maker is because we have a regular one at home. I've never used a Keurig.

This has nothing to do with Disney and it's kind of long, so feel free to skip over it.

A little back story here. I don't know if it's me but I've always felt my kids have been last on the totem pole at my mil's house. I've seen her play favorites in the most subtle ways. I've tried not to let it bother me but as the kids have gotten older, they've started to notice.

Anyways... I had informed my mil (with ample time, btw) about both my kid's Confirmation and Communion. She knew the date, time, and place of each activity.

Well, Abniel's Confirmation came and went with no sign of her. When Arben called her to inquire she said that she was babysitting our two nieces and that their mom was supposed to get out of work at 6 but didn't. I accept this as an excuse to a certain degree. I am almost 100% sure she didn't even say anything about the Confirmation to either my bil or his wife. Second, if she really wanted to go she could've left the girls with my sil (who lives next door) for a little while. My sil babysits them all the time too. But she didn't... Oh well.

Then last Friday my kids were playing at my sil's house and mil approached Adriel and told him that maybe she wasn't going to be able to go to his 1st Communion. And indeed, the next day she didn't show up. Again, Arben asked her and this time her excuse was stupid. She said that since she didn't go to Abniel's ceremony, she didn't go to Adriel's either. Yeah, you know, because she wants to be fair. Then she came over with some cards with a bit of money for each kid.

To say I was pissed was an understatement. To me, she was just trying to compensate the fact that she wasn't present, with the money.

Fast forward to today. I was browsing on FB and saw pictures of my nephew's graduation. And guess who was there? Yup, my mil. And I'm not condemning her for going. I just don't understand why can't she make the same effort for my kids as she does for her other grandchildren.

And then she wonders why my boys would rather spend time at my parent's house and why they run excitedly to greet my parents every time they see them. Kids feel when they are truly cared for and they gravitate towards that.

I really feel bad for Arben. It's his family but even he's noticed.

Ok, enough of the drama. I'm going to get my hair cut and colored now. I'll be back in the afternoon with and actual Disney related update. Thanks for letting me vent!

# 4 Passing under the WDW gates

Best gate EVER! Passing under it means I'm finally at my happy place.

Trip update

I'm happy to inform that Arben packed his clothes and I didn't even have to nag him. He did it all by himself too.

Tomorrow I'll start laundry as I want to leave all the bed sheets clean and no dirty clothes in the hamper. The kids and I will also start on the house. Lucky Arben, he'll be working.

Saturday will be a very busy day so I know nothing will get done in the house.

Plans for arrival day have been settled. Arben's pal (who moved to Orlando a little over a year ago) will picking us up from Kidani. We'll probably go to his house for a while and then he has agreed to take us grocery shopping.
