Saving the Magic (with Cam and Luke plus Morgan) COMPLETED - Page 41 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I have to laugh at Morgan being concerned about her flip-flops. The first time Dylan rode he was convinced that someone was going to steal his flip-flops while we weren't looking.
Great update!
Great update! That ice cream sandwich has to be added to my "must have" for our next trip!!! It looked so yummy! The hidden mickey dripping was sooooo cool!!! Thank you again for sharing your magical trip with us!
Finally caught back up! Too cute about Morgan's flip flop concerns!!!
I love the new frame with Stefanie's picture in it! I'm always dithering about frames.
I forget about Figment...it's been forever since we went there. Maybe this fall.
I hope that you get your cd soon, it's never taken too long once it's been shipped! Can't wait to read more of your adventures!!! Morgan sure seems like a sweet girl, but with a mind of her own as well!
ETA: Oh, and Cam, this is the first time I'd noticed your haircut! Super cute!! It looks great on you!
What a cute set of mouse ears Morgan got. I can never decide if I want a fancy set or just the classic. Last trip we went with the classic sets for me, DH and Cameron. I wanted his first mouse ears to be classic for some reason, but I can see us (mostly him) being creative with them in the future.
All in all sounds like a nice time at Epcot. The questions about Soarin' had be giggling a little. So cute. It's one of my favorite rides. Sorry your Potopass CD is taking so long. It is a little suspicious that it was mailed right after you complained.

I am all caught up. I wanted to respond to the last update, but I had to wait to come back as I got quite emotional when I saw Morgan's Figment picture!
I know this is a difficult trip for you, but I love how Morgan is having so much fun!!! I am looking forward to more!!!!
I am FINALLY all caught up!!! I have so enjoyed each and every one of your adventures so far. Morgan is such a very sweet young lady. Looking forward to the rest of your story.
ice cream drips into hidden Mickey was cool. Elly is always on the look out for hidden Mickeys, even at home.
Sorry about your wait for the photo pass. hopefully you get them soon. After the email saying it shipped it only took 2 days for ours to show up.
I checked the website again tonight and it looks like it will be here tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

I'm still debating on where we are going to stay - Ann has said I get to choose. I think I've narrowed it down to DVC @ Beach Club (which I'm really leaning towards) or DVC @ Wilderness Lodge. Decisions decisions!
I can't wait to see you all again. After AKLV, BC and WL are tied for my second favorites.

Morgan looks great in her "ears"!!
For such a small, petite girl, she certainly can eat!
The ice cream looks so !! And the hidden Mickey drops are so !
Since I have that same picture of Stefanie with Chip and Dale, it made me smile to see yours in the new frame!
about the photopass problem!! I hope it arrives very soon!
I wore my pink t-shirt to my workshop today as I knew it would put me in a good mood. Tomorrow since it's my birthday and I still have the workshop, I'm wearing the orange Mickey giraffe tee that we both own. And the sandals you got me, too.

The ice cream sandwich must have been super delicious because on the drips were left.

I was glad she liked Soarin' too as it is one of my faves. She's told her Mom and Dad that they have to ride it, too.

I agree, it seems that the Photopass people somehow overlooked your order and your e-mail prompted them to get things going. Hope it arrives sooner than another 14 days!!
I think all the pixies here are working as the CD might get here tomorrow or Thursday.

I truly believe somehow my order fell through the cracks as I've never had this long a wait, but it looks to be over soon.

Love Morgan's Ears!
I think Aunt Cam was enjoying the Character Meet as much as Morgan obviously was!
I'm happy that she loved Soarin'!
Cousins... our first best friends!
Hidden Mickey in the ice cream! Good catch, Morgan!
I do love meeting the characters!

Not knowing about Michael Jackson makes me feel old.
That made me feel old, too!

We watched it and she wasn't really impressed, though Luke and I enjoy it more each time.

When you've been on the ride, the leaving the flip flops makes perfect sense, but if you haven't ridden yet, it's just confusing.
Awesome trip so far. Can't wait to see if you make it to Spaceship Earth!

We've had another heat wave move in so I'm not putting that hoodie on for several months, but I'll be happy when it cools off.

I love the little pieces of Stefanie that are around you on this trip. Ie, looking at camera straps and seeing the tinker bell pin, being able to purchase the flip flops the two of you had picked out during the colder months. Her spirit lives on. For someone I never met, she has given me inspiration and truly touched my heart. I've been reading about her for years and it felt as if I knew her. Such a blessing to not only you and your family, but to many, many people around the world. I hope the impact I leave when it's my time to go is even a speck of that which Stefanie left. I am looking forward to the rest of your TR!
so much for your kind words. I'm hoping I've learned from her how to make others feel so special.

We had planned to try more of the snacks this trip, but didn't try all of them, though I think we managed ice cream at every park. I'll have to check.

Hey, flip-flops are important (And of course I've also added Disneyflip-flops to my shopping list for November...if Craig asks, I'm totally blaming you )
Yup, finding hidden Mickey's is ice cream drippings...Morgan and Jason would have a blast together
I'll gladly take the blame! I've quite counting how many flip flops I have.

Apparently, I'm the only one in my family that speaks fluent mouse sign language. When we were at the Main Street Theater last year (see my sig pic), Mickey "asked" if my boys were twins -- a question we get a lot because they are so close in height -- by pointing to them and holding up 2 fingers. I missed his "question" the first time, and everyone was standing there in a puzzled silence. I looked up and saw him "ask" again, and I responded, "No, they're actually 2 years apart!" Then it sunk in to everyone else what he was saying.
Luke's ice cream sandwich looks really delicious, and good for Morgan for spotting the Hidden Mickey! She learns fast!
I love her Stefanie Figment -- so sweet! And, yes, I believe that t-shirt would have been perfect for Stefanie.
Can't wait to see what else your day at Epcot has in store!
Stefanie could catch on instantly when the characters signed to us, so Luke and I learned a lot from her.

Morgan kept those ears in a prominent place on her head or Duffy's for much of the trip and even the flight home.
