We're going to WDW! Adventures of a Mom & Toddler Trip, PTR - Page 40 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad to hear Celeste & baby are good! I spotted in the beginning with Dylan & this baby. I had a bigger spotting day with this baby and my placenta was lying low which can cause spotting, but it's already moved up and I haven't had any spotting since that day back when it was the worst. It is scary though, so I understand what she must have felt.
Oh wow Kelly. I'm so sorry to hear the spottig was just as scary for you. The second Celeste told me she was at the Hospital and spotting blood it certainly had me worried for her. I didn't have any spotting until the end when Skyler wanted to come out 3 weeks early an. I was starting to dialate. I know DMil as well as Celeste's DMil, and her DH's Mamamaw had advised her to go to the Hospital to have it checked out, even if it was nothing but spotting. They're coming here in a few weeks, it will be nice to see her with her Baby Bump. She even thought Skyler should introduce himself to his Baby Cousin in her tummy. I will probably laugh if she wears her shirt she bought for her DH's Family Reunion that says "If this is my family, I'm not coming out."

Glad your SIL and the baby are doing well. Sorry that the swim class was cancelled, sounds like you still had a great evening and hopefully Skyler will be in the same mood to swim on Friday.

Thank you so much Meg. I think I was dissappointed for him, but nothing was his fault and nothing I could really do about the pool being closed and someone using the pool to go potty in. I maybe could understand his dissappointment since he doesn't understand quite yet. We have a lesson tonight, so I hope he will be just as eager to go in tonight as well as tomorrow night. I will say dinner out wasn't only to make up for the lesson, but I am quite proud of him for trying to go in the big pool and not being scared of it and at least trying something out of his comfort zone. His swim lessons have also become a great bondin experience for he and I especially doing something I love to do, een if he is just starting to learn(not to mention my favorite form of exercise).

We finally bought a new computer today on Erick's day off. We're still waiting for DFil to help us get the Internet connected on it since none of us know the code for the wireless access except for him. We still have a lot of software to get loaded on it too. We didn't get the exact one Erick wanted (an Apple), but as long as for now we can update and synch our phones and access the internet (what we can't access from our phones), it's all good. We went with something reasonably priced too, and found a lock box for home so Skyler
can't get his little hands on it. Also while at Best Buy, I found a reasonably priced Canon Powershot Digital Camera I liked or a Nikon Cool Pix one Erick & I liked. We are going to wait for our bills to go through and then go back to buy one.
We've survived 4 Swim Lessons for Skyler and he is showing some improvement. He is usig me as his kick board, but is trying to kick more.
I finally got to talk to my mom before we left for Skyler's swim lesson and she thinks our doctor is a tad bit crazy for wantin Skyler to see all these specialist doctors because he is smalll. At least she didn't think we were doing anything wrong, and certainly don't find fault in what wefeed Skyler since he does eat nutritious meals. She certainly doesn't feel like Skyler is neglected by us, and even knows that D-inlaws are around and he is far from it when he is with me 24/7, or with them if Erick or I can't be.
Hopefully I can get a better update once our new laptop is fully ready, and DMil did tell us we could install the software for their printer for the old dinosaur desktop computer, as it is the family printer. So at least I won't have to worry about that for a little bit, which is a relief as now I can check us in and print our our tickets at home for our flight and even check in 10 days early, so at least now I won't have to bombard Erik with tar at work for us. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Thank you Cam. I can't wait to use it. DFil thinks Erick & I shouldn't go near a computer, especially with the trouble we've had with our past ones. I did ask them about the issue with my old one and they said it all
lies on the hands of the manufacturer when it cones to
Motherboards in a computer, not the consumer's problem(thank goodness as I thought I killed my computers).hopefully we can update and sync our phones in the next day or two.
Becki I am glad the talk with your mom reassured you. Kids just grow at different speeds. My youngest was in the 25% in height and weight (if that) until she was 8 then she had a major growth spurt. She is still on of the smaller ones in her class but that is just her body structure. Skyler will grow at his own pace

Meg, thank you so much for the encouragement, and your kind words. My mom even had to remind me I was only 22 lbs. at 22 months old (age difference between DSis & I) when my sister was born, and even my sister always being tiny, and even my DMil and DSil Celeste are both tiny (and my height of 5'1"). So genetics wise, we know it has to do with 4 of us being tiny. Erick & DFil are both big men. Erick is 5'11" and DFil is at least 6'3", so we know in time he'll hit a growth spurt, and at the shortest will probably be 5'10" (my DDad's height). If there was one thing that really bothered me with the Doctor, was her opinion of Skyler not eating, when he eats healthy (I am so greatful my sister is a registered Dietitian and from the get go not having to worry about Childhood Obesity which was a huge fear of mine before Skyler was born). DMil even told me the other night that when Erick was younger, she used to have to make more than enough Broccoli just for DSil, since she would eat tons of it. We think that and carrots are Skyler's two favorite veggies. I was so glad when my mom who hasn't gotten to spend that much time yet with Skyler, but in her more recent visits with us saw how much he eats but how I am lucky I have a child with a fast metabolism. I couldn't have agreed with her more.
I forgot to mention Friday when I talked to my mom, she found a cute Mickey Mouse hat for Disney. It has Mickey Ears and a Mickey image on it with his autograph on it. It sounds cute, and I'm sure he will love wearing it (however we shall see if he will wear it the correct way, than his preferred way of backwards). I may actually be back to being PIF this week, if not most certainly by August 9th.
Congrats on the new computer!!! We need to be looking into getting a new one ourselfs!!!
Thank you so much. I was so aggravated with my last computer when things went wrong with it and my DSil had to borrow it for a little bit while her's didn't work (and she was buying a new one) and some other things. She didn't bother to tell me my CD drive wasn't working and it kept shutting off on her (early motherboard issues) that I could have sent it in while it was still under warranty.
Congrats on the new computer!!! We need to be looking into getting a new one ourselfs!!!
