Walking in a Disney Wonderland, December 8-15, 2009 - COMPLETE!! 5/7 - Page 40 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Congrats!!! That is exciting news!! So how far along will you be on that birthday trip? You will still have a great time and just think it will be like a celebration/last trip before being mommy of 2!! I went to disney when I was4 1/2 months pregnant and over 7 months pregnant, nothing was stopping me!
I went when I was about 4.5 months pregnant with Dylan. This time around I'll be about 7 - 7.5. I bought a camelbak yesterday to wear to keep me hydrated while we're there. Nothing is stopping me either!!
hahaha...I dont blame you I would totally go to disney pregnant too You'll be fine i'm sure! So, exciting and glad you were able to eat some last night Are you excited about punta cana?? I hope you can still go...You should have the baby by that time I would think right?
I had a blast in disney while I was pregnant. Except for some swelling once I hit 7 months, I didn't have any other issues. You just go at a slower pace which we sort of already do and eat all of the disney goodies until your heart is content!!! It was actually nice not being able to go on all of the rides, it allowed us to enjoy some of the finer parts of disney like the sites and of course the FOOD! Definately endulge in a Ghiradelli's sundae (at 7 months pg, sam was doing cartwheels after I had one, it was so funny). Defiantely stay hydrated, I even bought a big bottle of water at the airport and drank that during the entire flight and since we sat in the first row on southwest, I kept my feet up against the wall. Each time we went back to the room for a break, I would also lay on the bed with my legs/feet propped for at least a little bit, but I had an issue with swelling. Did you swell with Dylan?

I am still excited about Punta Cana and yes I'd have had the baby by then. They'll probably be at least 2 months at the time of the wedding. The big discussion will be whether or not we take the baby or if Mike stays home with baby while Dylan & I go or if the 3 of us go and leave baby with my in-laws. I prefer option 1 because I just don't think I can leave them and go so far away.

We've already said we'll go back to AKL during the heat of the day and either take a nap or hit the pool for some cooling off. I'll be sure to put my feet up every chance I get. I told Mike while he's drinking around the world I'll be eating around the world. I will need to watch all those sweets though since I'm diabetic. I swelled a bit with Dylan, but not until the very end (like the last few weeks before I had him). I'm sure I'll have some while in WDW though since I'll be on my feet more and with the temps. And I'll try and get that 1st row on SW so I can prop my feet on the wall. Thanks for that tip!
Kelly I admire you for going to Disney at 7-7.5 months pregnant. I tried to talk Erick into that one while pregnant with Skyler and e thought I was out of my mind. It will still be a great way for you & Mike to celebrate your Birthdays. Is Dylan still not happy about having a sibling or is he starting to get excited about it. I'm sure he'll make a wonderful big brother to the baby. How's your morning sickness? I hope it's not too unbearable for you.

Dylan is still not into having a sibling. We have a while to get him to come around though.
The sickness is getting better, but still not back to my normal self just yet.
I really hope to get an actual update in soon. I need to finish this so I can start the PTR for our birthday trip sometime.
That is funny that Dylan isn't budging! I ask Sam every so often if he wants a baby brother or sister and he just says Yeah. He has been spending some time around my nephew who is 2 months now and he acts like he is the parent. He wants to help give the bottle, help with the diaper and sit on the couch and hold the baby.
Can't wait to hear more about your trip!!

We must have slept in and took it slow this morning as we got to the IG after WS had already opened – it was about 11:20am and we were hungry for lunch. I think I was kind of crabby this morning and just wanted to be left alone – more to come on this. While everyone else waited for fish & chips in the UK I went and got a ham & cheese croissant from France. I met up with everyone else in UK and we sat on a bench in the back by where the BI plays. I think there’s a very good reason that they tell you not to feed the animals as we had a crazy squirrel near us as we ate. He practically was on the bench with us while we were eating. I know it freaked me out a bit and it definitely freaked my MiL as well as she kept yelling at him to go away. I think eventually we ran him off.
"Hey MawMaw!"
After lunch we headed to Future World and rode Figment and then Ellen (where Dylan had a cat nap). Afterwards we shared a soft pretzel and some Cheetos.
A possible BTG sighting - we weren't sure where they were from, but they were chanting all the way!
I must have got a little something as I wasn’t feeling all that well – must have been why I was crabby that morning, so I decided to take Dylan back to the room with me so we could rest. We left about 2:30pm and made it to the room by 3pm. Everyone else wandered around WS. I think the in-laws caught a few of the storytellers and Mike was going to try to meet Lou Mongello at a meet. Mike went to the meet, but a family emergency had come up for Lou and he hadn’t even made it to WDW. L Back in the room I laid Dylan down and I lay down too, but didn’t get much sleep as Dylan coughed quite a bit again. I was just getting ready to get up and go when Terry & Vicki came back to the room. We all left about 5:15pm so we could make our 5:50pm ADR at Garden Grill.
A few pics from what T&V did while I was back in the room:
I loved the America tree!!
We caught some of this guy later too and he was great! (I think he's the Monkey King from China.)
Garden Grill is a hit with our family. Mike really enjoys it. I still really wasn’t feeling all that great so I ate little, but everyone else enjoyed the food. Our waiter, Patrick, was a highlight of our dining experience there. He was AWESOME! He had us laughing quite a lot. And another great thing about this meal was Dylan’s reaction to the characters. He LOVED them! After out meal he even tried to chase them.
Dylan his dessert (a dirt cup)! That's Patrick in the back making Dylan a 'Mickey head'.
After dinner Mike & I rode Soarin’ and the Land, while Terry & Vicki took Dylan on the Land and then Nemo. Then we all caught back up and rode SSE – where there was a line! After SSE it was time to head back to the room. We reached our villa just as Illuminations started. Dylan had fallen asleep on the way, he woke up while putting his pj’s on, but quickly went back to sleep. The rest of us were in our beds soon after.
Up next…AP & DVC discounts at DTD!!! Shop til you drop!
Sorry you weren't feeling well, Kelly. Hopefully it passes quickly. Dinner at the GG looked great. I've had Patrick as a server before and I agree, he is really fantastic! And I those pics of Dylan with the characters. Glad to see he's finally comfortable with them.

Sorry you weren't feeling well. I got to meet Lou at the 5k in Sept. He just happened to be standing near us so I introduced myself. He was very nice. I didn't bug him too long, LOVE the picture of Dylan hugging Dale. He is sooo cute!! And what a great server. The right server can really make or break a meal sometimes.

Patrick is a great CM. We even heard singing from him. He was a riot!
We've got some more character photos coming up!! I too was so glad Dylan loved the characters this trip.

Mike hopes he can meet Lou another time.
Dale is cute isn't he?! Or did you mean Dylan?
Patrick was great - I think he made me feel a bit better too!
