As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). Wonderful plans for that day! Dylan has been very hesitant about roller coasters, but he's done almost all at WDW now and loved them all, so I'm sure Evan will be ok once he's experienced it once. I think it's the unknown that frightens him.

I went to the torture of Evan's baseball game last night. This is the first time he has played kid pitch. Half of the innings are kid pitch and the other half are coach pitch. Evan pitched last night and I don't think this is going to be his position. He has been killing it at first base however.
OMG these games are so boring - it is like watching paint dry. Each batter gets 5 balls and 4 strikes and I think we have a full count for every batter. We played only 4 innings last night at it was 2 hours. At least the weather was nice until the sun went down.

Part 6: The Details... Day 4, Saturday 6/20, Legoland
Saturday will be another busy day for us. We will up early and heading over to the Contemporary for a 7:30am ADR at Chef Mickey’s. Back on our arrival day I have a Chef Mickey’s dinner booked as a back-up but after all the adjustments I think this option works better for us. Evan wanted to do dinner here but he will have to settle for breakfast or not do the Rain Forest Café at all and we will do dinner at CM on our arrival.
BTW: I heard about the accident at the speedway so I’m not sure about if I will let Evan do the ride along, or if the track will remain open. They pushed back the closing from June to August but now with the accident maybe they will be temporarily closed or close early. I’ll be checking out all the details before we leave home.
After breakfast we are heading south to Legoland. I have been told it is about an hour’s drive.
The park opens at 10am so we should be arriving just about rope drop time. Having never been here I’m not exactly sure what to expect or the best plan of attack. I also think this will most likely be our only visit here as the next time we head to Disney I think Evan will be too old for Legoland.
I would like to see the mini landscapes, the gardens and the water ski show. Evan wants the mini landscapes and the rides. I’m sure he will like the water ski show too.
Evan loves the Lego City collection. He has several fire trucks, police cars, fire station, police station, fire helicopters and police helicopters. He has the airport and several “work” trucks like the recycle truck and cement mixer truck. He has so many Legos I had to get him a book case in his room as he took over the display hutch in the living room.
I’m sure he will want to tour the Lego City Land. Here they have firetrucks that you race and then pump.
Most of the rides in Legoland look like things Evan will like. I’m not sure he will do any roller coasters but the other ones look like standard boardwalk rides with the Lego theme.
I know a trip to the gift shop will be in order. Since we are driving home I might let him buy a bigger set. Depends on how much spending money I bring along because he loves those giant sets for $80, $100, $130. He has been eyeing up the Swamp police set in Target for a few months so I may break down and let him get that.
After Legoland it is back to the MK for late night. Hopefully Evan will sleep in the car and we can go directly to MK. Dinner will be QS in the park. I will aim to get FP+ for Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder and Splash. I am bummed that Pirates will be closed. After the Fast pass attractions we will just hang out and do anything we missed the day before and then watch MSEP and maybe Wishes.
I have an agreement with Evan, he doesn’t want to do the Haunted Mansion (so bummed as it is one of my favorites). I told him I wouldn’t make him but he had to try Splash Mountain and he agreed. I have no idea why he doesn’t want to do Splash. We have watched videos and he has been on log flumes before but for some reason he is a big chicken. So this will be a first for him.
I LOVE the Electrical Parade. I know it is dated and showing some wear (who isn’t) but it was one of the reasons I fell in love with Disney. I love the sound track and have so many fond memories from my childhood. I never really liked SpectroMagic and was so happy they brought back MSEP. I have no idea how long they will keep it around and assume that someday it will become permanently retired. But for now I will more than happy to watch it again.
Evan is not crazy about fireworks when they are really close so I’m not making any plans to stop and watch Wishes. I hope to be in the park and just stop to watch them wherever we are.
I have never seen the projection show on the castle so I’d like to stop and see that for at least a few minutes.
Tonight MK is scheduled for EMH so I know it will be really crowded. We will just play it by ear to see if we stay until closing or if we stay for EMH at all.
Wow! That sounds like a full and fun day!! I would love to go to Legoland. You are so lucky that Evan loves Legos! My grandson has a few sets and he really doesn't play with them much, so sadly for me, I will have to wait until I get a grandchild who does! Evan is a lucky boy to have you for a Mom!

I love it when you describe your trips with Evan to places like Legoland and that "Dig" park you went to last summer. He really gets into these places and makes the most of them. It's like he's the child they made the parks for!
Evan will love Legoland!I know my boys did. You have to check out the Star Wars miniland, so many cool things to look at. We grabbed lunch to go and ate it while watching the ski show so that might be an easy way to get him to the show.

I keep saying that about him snuggling in my bed but I know the day is coming where he won't want to do that either.

not sure if lucky is the best word as those sets are expensive and he usually only wants a set with directions. He hardly ever just picks up blocks and makes something from scratch.

Diggerland - and he is already buggy me to go back there. They are only open weekends at the moment.

I love Star Wars but it isn't one of Evan's favorites I think he will like the DC section as we went there in November. I think we may steal your idea and have lunch and a show.
