Wow! Is he really 10 years old? Let's go to Disney! - The TR - COMPLETE!! 5/28 - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I wouldn't worry too much about Dumbo unless your DS is one to change his mind midway on a ride and decide he has to get out - now. The one I'd be worried about is Buzz Lightyear. I know that sounds weird, but consider the dark/ black lighting and some of the flashing lighting effects. You won't find very good videos of it on youtube, but that's at least something to start with. I'd recommend checking out some of them before you decide to take your DS on the Buzz Lightyear ride.
That is a possibility with Dumbo for him, but hopefully he will be okay with it. As for Buzz lightyear he is okay with stuff like that, does not bother him at all.
Hi friend! Why didn't you tell me you started a PTR? I'm so glad I caught it while it was still on...pg 4?!?! LOL...
Ok, here's my quick two cents......I think Jonathan will totally be cool with Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and you guys will LOVE it.
SKIP the Stitch ride. I hate to say it, but total waste of time, plus I don't know how well Jonathan will do in it. Buzz is also very loud, but it sounds like you think he'll be fine.
And DEFINITELY make time for a DVC tour! Are you guys thinking of buying in? Even if not, it's something to do and you get Fastpasses and ice cream!
Can't wait to hear more! Wish we could join you, but way too hot for us that time of year. But two weeks is GREAT!!!! I'm so happy you'll really be able to relax and take the time to do everything you want to do and stop and smell the roses (and chocolate chip cookies).
Miss you! xoxo

Just found your PTR and got all caught up. Your plans look great! We will be there during your first week. We arrive on May 26th and I am not looking forward to the 10 crowd level that day either! It looks like the CL goes down for the rest of the week though, so I can live with one day at a 10.

I hope so. He can be very vocal though so we will see.

Is it just loud in general or are there sudden loud noises? As for Stitch, we have heard many stories about it but we have never been to it so we almost feel like we should. I wish it was still Alien Encounter, I actually liked that. LOL

We really do want to work this in. We do plan on buying in but in a couple of years down the road when all those nasty credit cards are paid off.

We went at this time 2 years ago and it was warm but not as hot as I thought it would be. I refuse to go in July and August, so this is the best time for us to work 2 weeks in and on the plus side the FL schools are still in session. I want some chocolate chip cookies now. lol
Miss you! xoxo
I miss you too! xoxo

I hate to break it to you but the 27th is now a 10 as well. I think we will need that day off on the 28th after those two days. Perhaps we will run in to each other.

Well darn! I thought Monday might be a 10 with it being Memorial Day. I like easywdw.com as they have Memorial weekend listed as an 8 over the weekend. Wishful thinking!

Yes wishful thinking! Touring plans had Sunday at a 9 and Monday at an 8 until recently. Then it was Sunday at a 10 and Monday still at an 8 until 2 days ago then it was both at a 10 and they increases most of the days for our whole trip a little. I am okay with it though, it is what it is. I kinda figured it would be crowded for Memorial day weekend so I guess if we can handle the crowds the week of Christmas we can handle this. lol

Very true! Well, we will keep an eye out for you guys in the crowds and say hello if we see you!
We are completely PIF! Online check in was done at 60 days! Disney binder is pretty much together. I made up our Cast Member appreciation cards and our tip envelopes for the Mousekeeper. I plan to get a Disney Gift card to use for our tips at the Table Service Restaurants. DH is working as much overtime as he can get his hands on which is helping alot. So far everything is coming together. Just waiting for that day to come when we can say we are at Disney.
Astro Orbiter! - You will never get me on this ride EVER! Tea Cups - I truly can not say I will not ride this but I do not spin well so it is not something I want to do. lol
Epcot:
Mission Space - I do not spin well so no thank you. SOARIN - BTDT, never again! The whole sitting in a swing seat with your feet dangling thing NOPE! I did it once and there you go.
Hollywood Studios:
Tower of Terror - Very appropriately named! We went on this on our Honeymoon in 2000 and will never go on it again. By the time it was over I was shaking, I am surprised I did not empty my stomach. My DH on the other hand did not like the whole going from bright light to dark thing and it gave him a big headache so he does not care for it either.
Rockin' Rollercoaster: I am not a coaster person and it has a loop so NO WAY!
Animal Kingdom:
Everest - Again not a coaster girl at all, this one has this big gap of empty space you go over forwards and back wards, so NOPE!
Dinosaur! - went on it in 2000 on our Honeymoon and it was just too jerky a ride for me.
Now DH pretty much likes the thrill rides and he will do most of those. He does share my dislike for TOT and Dinosaur but other than that he loves the big coasters and thrill rides.
Our favorite rides:
It is a tie between Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Carribean!
DS it is It's A Small World hands down! He loves that ride.
That is the update for now. It is just a waiting game now.
Congratulations on your planning and payment progress! I hear you about the spinning rides. It gets worse for me every year. I can't even ride the carousel now.
