As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Well...DS12's football team lost in the semifinals so no Super Bowl for us this year ...which is a great thing because he is now sporting a HUGE purple (our school colors) cast on his right arm! After playing in his last game he complained of his arm hurting "a little" and it looked a little bruised so we put some ice on it and he went about his night. Forward to the next morning...his arm looked like someone shoved a baseball under his skin ! We took him to the ER where they did Xrays and told us he had a severe contusion and a broken bursa sack hence the swelling. After another day of "worse pain than the first two days" we had a follow up with the Orthopedic DR who was furious that we were sent home with out a sling or splint or even having it wrapped because there was an obvious fracture to his growth plate! This is his second cast this year (he broke his foot in the spring missing his entire season of baseball) I told him I am going to wrap him in bubble wrap to keep him safe . No worries though he should be just fine by our trip!
Back to trip details: I have an order from the Disney Store coming this week...full of tshirts, fleece pullovers, and sweatshirts for everyone . I have started making our countdown (that will start at the 50 day mark), planning all kinds of Disney themed activities to get us ready! I will start my fall purge and organize at home this week...this means getting rid of EVERYTHING that is not in use (except for some childhood items for my boy's children...yes I am a sentimental schmuck ) But I do like things organized! I am forced to start in youngest DS room as he has new carpet and bedroom furniture coming in a week ! Then it is on to DS12 room which is pretty organized other than getting rid of his clothes that are too small now because he is growing like a weed! Then on too my DH and my room and by room I mean closets . WEll got to go...I have a full day of family photo shoots to do before all the beautiful fall leaves are off the trees.

Your ADR's so far look great. I have never been to CP. I hope to rectify that when we go back.
The crowd was not too bad last time we spent Christmas inthe World, we thought Star Wars weekends in June was way worse.

Thank you! He is doing much better we will find out on Friday when he will get his cast off.
Your story has me a little worried about my daughter now. She twisted her ankle Friday. It bruised a little and had some swelling. Bug she keeps talking about how bad it hurts. She even wants to skip ballet tonight. I am really thinking maybe I should take her to the Dr just to be safe.

Thanks for the pixies. We will see how it goes, especially after tonight and all the trick or treating.
Wondering how your DD is doing?

Looking forward to reading about your Christmas trip.
My son was disappointed they did not after winning the Super Bowl last year, but he is excited about wrestling season coming up in a few weeks if his arm is 100% healed.

The cast is off!!! DS got his cast off Friday morning...the DR suggested he have another one put on as his arm is not quite healed enough to go with out, however DS begged DR to let him wear a brace and promised he would take it easy for the next two weeks and Dr agreed. Now DS is sporting what my youngest calls "a robot arm" I was just glad to hear there was no need for surgery!!!
He will be good as new for our trip next month...partly because I plan to wrap him in several layers of bubble wrap to keep him safe !
Back to our plans...Not a ton to report right now except for trying to decide which day to purchase MVMCP tickets, our first night or the last night of the party. I know they will sell out and I need to order them asap. Our first night in town we will stay off property so we can be properly rested to start out our day in the parks, and we plan to take our boys to Disney Quest that evening...any thoughts on this? Anything we just have to do there? Any tips or tricks to make it better? Both boys love video games and it sounds like something they would love .
Another question about MVMCP we have a dinner ADR (Chef Mickey's) at 5:00 pm the night we want to go to the party should I make it earlier?
Once I figure out how to load a photo I will post our cool new countdown DSs and I made. I can't wait for my family to lose ourselves in Disney magic once again! I was just telling DH it has been over 1 1/2 years since our last trip! That is just waaaaay too long for an addict like me ! I love the feeling I get when we walk down Main Street with my little family .

Glad the cast is off! I think you're okay with your 5 PM dinner. We've always eaten at LTT around 5:15-5:30 before the party, and finished up in plenty of time. You're not too far away at the CR and can just walk over!
