Wise Women, Good Looking Men and Way Cool Teens - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

up and moving early. we did our usual splitting of the breakfast. then back to the room to get ready for the day. I grabbed the Wise Woman bag for B and we were out the door.
each bag had the Wise Woman initial, one photo frame, 3 mojito tealights, the note pad, one princess on board sign, the photo album with a poem written by my dd, tissues for when we parted, a pen with a chistmas light on top that flashes when you tap it, and a couple of candy cane glow sticks.
my dd's poem
The Magic Moment
It’s that first glimpse of the castle saying “your vacation starts here”
It’s the smoothness of the ear when you bite a Mickey Bar
It’s fireworks that leave you breathless
It’s a Figment of your imagination comeing out to play
It’s walking from Mexico to Canada, passing through Japan
It’s watching the waters dance to Mozart as the colors change
It’s seeing Indiana Jones from close enough to see him sweat
It’s getting a bird’s-eye view, right before you drop, screaming wildly
It’s a car ride though classic films, and getting hijacked mid-ride
It’s birds flying over your head and body-slamming fake lizards
It’s watching monkeys bounce and flip and a hyena juggle fire
It’s staring at the Tree of Life finding the animals one by one
It’s getting a cast member’s help to stuff the potato parts in
It’s fantastic food and music without the transatlantic flight
It’s four stories of arcade games--dead men who tell no tales
Grace Warn 2009
I think she writes wonderful poetry, but then i'm predjudiced about that.
We took photos of the resort as we went.
They had 4 trees in the lobby. it was beautiful as always. The walk to the bus was short and the bus came quickly. We only had to watch the Great Lizard round up for just a few minutes. It was too funny at least 4 little boys were in hot pursuit of lizards. Evidently they didn't count unless you could hold on to them for a count of 5. This wasn't the lizards first rodeo and they proved more than a match for the kids.
From the bus stop, we went to a couple of shops and took pictures.
i love the lego store
I think we wandered into T-Rex. looks fun by noisy. It was time we wandered over to Fulton's for lunch. We hadn't eaten for a couple of hours, so it much be time.
the hostess was a lovely lady from theSeychelles Island, India by the name of Jinette. We chatted while waiting for our table. Disney dining said to be there 20 minutes before our ressie time. however, Fulton's doesn't open 20 minutes before our ADR so we did have a wait. We were seated and met our server Edgardo. It was then we discovered the Fulton's isn't on the dining plan. Oops, my mistake but what the heck. Dbf loves sea food but doesn't order it anywhere that is over a day's drive from the coast, so he doesn't get it often. He had the Cold sea food trio and I had the Sirloin burger without the bun.
keeping notes while waiting for our food
tomorrow maybe photobucket will let me finish this day.
Love Fultons!!! Worth going there even if it's not on the plan! That poem was absolutely perfect, and if I'd read it before I got to speak to Grace at lunch, I'd have told her myself!!! Please do pass on the heartfelt thanx & compliment!

am enjoying my stuff as well....yep, she is one talented girl! let us not forget the marvelous sparkle scarfs as well! course i had a whole year to break mine in!
the cold sea food plate. he proclaimed it beyond awesome, especially the scallops!
the mild chocolate brulee. OMG good!!!! thank goodness i saved "carbs" because there was NO way I was leaving any of this behind.
All is all a wonderful place especially for those who love sea food (Fulton's Crab House--who knew they might be really great with sea food?!?)
I believe that B and I had made contact at some point. Understand that my phone plan only gives me 20 texts a month and up till now, we've used 0, in 15 years. My phone is wonderful but it doesn't have a keyboard just the one on the numbers, so we may have actually talked, not texted..
we wandered over to WOD to see if this shift of folks could find large size shirts, although i did find out that i fit most of the sizes found in the stores now. It was now time. We went outside and found B and family. Awesome meeting, we felt like old friends from the beginning. even dbf and Matt chatted like buddies
I would be the short, round one.
We wandered and chatted. The DTD photopass studio is kind of a hidden treasure. They never seem to be busy and they take wonderful photos. We posed for a group shot and then did individual families. Great photos, hopefully my cd will arrive in time for the report.
We wandered in to Cookes of Dublin for drinks. I'm beginning to find Diet coke tolerable with enough limes or lemons added. It was decided to catch the water taxi for a round trip ride.
Sadly, the balloon wasn't flying today, too windy. We went into the Harley store for photos on the faux Harley.
Then time for dinner at our very favorite spot. The food was awesome. The music was fine when they played.
little pastry covered sausages on forks
The ham was wonderful, but i left one slice and saved carbs for the Dunbrody Kiss. Dbf says the bread pudding is too good to every miss. Our server Margaret was very attentinve and good at keeping us all happy. She collected those money things they leave at the table and then returned all teary eyed. She was excited about the tip envelope and the cm appreciation card that B had done. (They were very wonderful. loved the graphics.) Turns out she had been showing them to the other servers. Margaret was new and ours were the first that she had gotten. Love those magic moments.
We wandered some more and said our good nights. Tomorrow was the MVMCP and another first for us, dinner at CP.
Dbf and I went to the boat for the ride back to the resort. We found our room with our Santa towel dude looking out the window and this guy next to him.
I can't believe that we've gotten two, after years of not getting a single one.
