As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I have the one that says "Red Sox Girl. Enough Said." I love that shirt and it always makes people laugh!
I am trying to design a Mickey head with a Sox cap on it for us all to wear one day down in the parks(I'm making shirts for each day!). I'll post it if I can get a good design! (Trying to ge it done before my BFF goes the end of March since they are going to the Spring Training game at WWofSp. (So jealous!!)
Cute. Well since our son and I inherited the last name Ortiz (when I married DH), the Ortiz Gal, Enough Said fits me perfectly. I love your idea for your shirts. I'm envious your friend gets to watch the game. We were trying to see if we could have made it down there for it, but not enough time or money this year to do so.
I've been to WWofSp once for my DSister's Cheerleading Competition (DBrother's 1st trip to Disney) in 2000 that we got to watch the Braves (mind you this was before DBrother turned me into a Sox Fan) during their Spring Training Practice and tried helping DBrother get some players autographs. Can we say that was the day I turned anti-Chipper Jones. You would think some of them would have the heart to give a small child (a innocent 3 year old) an autograph, nope not him. I was so mad Javy Lopez (the one who filled in as catcher a few years ago when Veritek and Maribelli were both injured not the relief pitcher) had just left since my DBrother wanted his autograph so bad (I had no clue he would be a Red Sox Player years later).
Hopefully we'll get to make a trip down there for Spring Training and see the Sox play the Braves some time.
Thank you Dyan. That does seem a bit pricey. DH thinks we should all get white jerseys since they're easier to find, but I'm the queen of missing my mouth when eating. I know we're defanitely getting the jerseys or player shirts before our Trip to Disney so we can get a shot of the 3 of us, and one of DH and I in our Sox Jerseys!
Just received my YawkeyWayStore mailer yesterday. They do have the blue replica jerseys for $150.
Papelbon stands by the cancer comment he made about Manny back in August.
Clay Buchholz pitched three shut-out innings the other day before they pulled him to allow some other guys some time on the mound! Perhaps the coaches have realized having him focus on the way his shoulder is rotating in the socket wasn't a good thing?
Mikey Lowell (and David Ortiz) were both AWESOME Friday night!!
Dustion Pedrioa tells Red Sox Nation to 'relax' and that this isn't going to be a problem! him!!
Lugociaparra has a torn meniscus, has to have surgery and will probably be out for at least a month. Such a shame. ( couldn't control myself)
Lester follows suit with Pedroia & Youkilis and signs a 5 year deal with the Red Sox!
There are only 21 days, 21 hours and 7 minutes until Opening Day 2009!!!
Dyan, thank you for the update on the Jersey and the updates with the players. I heard about Lugo being out for a month, Pedroia having a minor injury but wants to be ready for Opening Day, and Lester signing his 5 Year Contract (Yay, I love Lester! Don't want to see him go, especially after all he has been through at his young age of 25-He and Lowell are such inspirations on the team).
Heck, throw those things on e-bay you could probably pay cash for a DVC!!
I'd like to live to see tomorrow!
Brewzer: The Unofficial Red Sox Spring Training Mascot! Thank you, Lisa (elbug10) for the link to this awesome article!! Justin Masterson makes some guest shots in the video and shows his great sense of humor! Sometimes I think the Red Sox are similar to WDW, as there is always room to find/learn something new!
Oh dear lord! Poor Youk! It sounds hopeful that he shouldn't be out for too long. I'm beginning to think this WBC isn't such a good thing. for the update, Marnie!
(Becki, the tickets are my dad's. I had to pick them up for him at the post office and I am now babysitting them. I actually took & e-mailed the photo to show him that I was holding his tickets hostage. He's very tolerant of me. )

City of Palms, in Ft. Myers FL where the Sox hold their spring training is about 40 minutes north of my Dad's winter place in Naples. The entire local sports reports while I was there covered spring training for the Red Sox and Minnesota Twins, who also play there. When I saw this story, I immediately thought of Dyan and all my other Passporter Red Sox friends! I'm glad the link was still up on the NBC affiliate's website so you guys could see it. Brewser's a cutie even if Wally is a little jealous!

My parents also call Naples their winter home!! LOVE that place....it too is my "second happy place". It's so beautiful...although I must admit, it's proximity to City of Palms Park is probably my most favorite thing about it!!! LOL!!
In other news...let us all Mr. Curt Shilling on the official announcement of his retirement! Thanks for the memories Curt! You will be missed #38 (Although, I know this isn't the last we'll hear of you!! LOL!!) 38 Pitches
