Mom and Dad's 25th and 14 of us going with! - UPDATED 10/14 - DAYS 2 & 3 - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

You took some awesome pictures! I had to look twice at the one of your BBBD because he looks just like my oldest brother! It sounds like you have had some pretty full days so far. I can't wait to hear more.
Wow what a crew. I hope all went smoothly for you. We are planning to go 2010. We really want to keep the costs down. I am curious to find out how much you actually budgeted and what it did end up costing you. If you are willing to part with that information please post or PM me. I would really appreciate any assistance.

I have no problem sharing that info. I would be glad to help! I think we are going back in 2010 also! I will get the info together and post it. Would you like to see it in a day by day or as a whole broken down by catagory. I can do it both ways. I still have every receipt ( I know, I know a little crazy about my budget huh?) and I also have it written out for each day. I can tell you off hand my minimum budget was $3,540 and we ended up spending $3,680. Mind you that was without the house, because my parents paid for that. That also does not include the $50 each that my 3 oldest kids had.
Let me know how you would like to see that info and I will get it up as soon as I can. Next few days coming soon I promise!

Reason: add a sentence
Today is the first day at Hollywood Studios! I got up at 6:30 again and started getting ready (at home I don’t get up till 7:30). We have breakfast at the house and are out the door by 8:30! We did real well with getting everyone moving every day, amazingly enough. The whole family went to the same park again today and I think this is the case for the rest of the days.
We headed over to Indiana Jones and it was a while before the first show so we jumped over to Star Tours. My oldest son and I are pretty big Star Wars fans (geeks), one of our favorite games at home is Star Wars Trivial Pursuit, and we just love it.
Anyway, kids were starting to line up for the Jedi Training Program so our boys grabbed a good up front spots. Jacob tried using his best Jedi mind trick to get his way up there but his powers were just not strong enough yet. They were kinda pouty that they were not picked so they skipped the training session and we went on the ride. My DM and BBBD stayed with the babies while the four of us rode. Love the theme of the queue, just wish there was a little more in the ride.
Pop-pop with the babies
We then watched the Muppets and when we left there stopped to say hi to Lightning McQueen and Mater.
The little ones loved this! We wandered the Streets of America for a while, even though we knew we should be getting FP for Toy Story Mania. The Lights Motors Action Stunt show was not running this day which left us a little disappointed, but it was supposed to be up on Thursday and we were coming back on Friday.
Jake hanging out in N.Y.
The backlot tour was next. We watched the “special effects” portion and towards the end we saw my other brother going back to get ready to be in the next show.
When our group was leaving we asked if we could stay for the next one to see him and they let us, with a smile of course. That was fun, especially because now all of us were together. He was in the one who got slammed with excessive amounts of water. As a big sister, I found this very amusing.
Next was lunch at Flatbread Grill, again very good. I had the kids Mac N’ Cheese with two orders of grapes and chocolate milk. For me, this was a great lunch! Filled me up and I got a chocolate milk. My husband had the pulled pork and the bun it came on looked very good. The kids played a while on the Honey, I shrunk the kids movie set and when everyone was done eating we went over to TOT and RRC.
Before the ride!!
Here is where the fun begins…I hate-HATE heights! My husband and brother Mark tell me that it is a tame coaster except for the fast start. I could not remember what I had read about it in my passporter but I knew that I wanted to try it because of the theme ( I love Aerosmith). My mom, dad, and SIL kept all the babies as the rest of us headed off to it. It was only a 10 min wait and I was starting to get nervous as I got closer to the seat. I made my husband ride with me which left my son riding with his uncle. Hey, he likes coasters this is o.k. right? The coaster takes off-loved the acceleration then comes that first loop! I was cracking up as I told my husband I was going to KILL him! I actually really enjoyed it! I think it was because I could not see the height. It is not the feeling that bothers me just the height.
I was not as brave for the TOT and decided to skip this! My husband, boys, brothers and one SIL went. The boys loved this too! Now it was time to line up for the parade but it was starting to look pretty gray and starting to sprinkle. Waiting for the Parade
We waited for 15 minutes or so and an announcement was made that it was delayed. We decided not to wait (glad cause it ended up being canceled) and went to the Great Movie Ride. This was cute but all my kids were beginning to get cranky again so after this we took off back to the house. We missed a lot at this park, but since we were coming back in another few days we were o.k. with it!

Catierae, thank you. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know a daily breakdown if it not to much work. If it is to much whatever you have handy is fine. We don't have to pay for a room either. My parents have timeshare that we get to use.
Thanks again,

Sorry this took so long! I am in the middle of a semester and doing Mid-Terms now. Aaarrrgghhh. Sorry my head just blew a gasket.
O.k. Where was I? Oh yes, Day five… So I was up again this morning at 6:30 a.m. getting ready. This is the big day where everyone is going to Magic Kingdom wearing our cute, matching shirts. Everyone got out the door by 8:30a.m.!!! Amazing, huh? I did not factor in the 20 minutes it takes to get to the actual park after parking your car so we got there after opening. The show was already beginning at the castle so we stopped to see this real quick. After a few minutes we took off towards toontown.
Over to the side we saw the Wicked Stepmother and the “Ugly” Step-sisters. These were probably the funniest characters we met our whole vacation. No one was waiting in line so we were able to spend some quality time with them. My baby Ben even got a big smooch from one!
We got back to toontown and rode the barnstormer twice. We then got in line to see the princesses. The line said 20 minutes and took about 10. My DD had been talking about meeting Cinderella for quite a while and even has started telling people she is Cinderella. From across the room she was so excited and when we got up there she did the quite, shy girl act. She also rolls her tongue in her mouth when she is nervous. All of her pictures with the princesses look like she is scared to death of them. Now, on the other hand, the baby LOVED the princesses. He was so sweet with them, even the princesses were like “aaawww.”
We saw Minnie’s house and Mickey’s house but decided not to wait to meet the big guy since we just saw him at Epcot.
We then headed over to Fanasyland and walked on to all the rides. The longest we had to wait was five minutes. It was so great because it kept the little ones occupied. We actually parked the strollers at Winnie the Pooh (boy, was that a trippy ride) and walked from ride to ride. I did not get my BBBD on Dumbo. I know, I know how sad is that? He was having fun though and I did not want to press my luck.
I planned for lunch at Pinocchio Village haus and it was a great place to eat! The food was o.k. but the air conditioning and the décor was well worth it! Next was Haunted Mansion, which all the kids loved. I loved the changes. The stairs were very creepy. My DM, DH, and DS 1 and 2 went to ride Splash Mountain and BTMR while me and my BBBD took a break with the babies.
After the break, we did Pirates, Jungle Cruise, and even pulled my BBBD into the Tiki Room. After this BBBD was done! He and my mom left and we were not far behind them. Both the babies fell asleep in their strollers so I took the boys on Stitch and Buzz’s. By now we were all very hot and tired. We left the park and stopped for dinner at IHOP (yummy).
Jake must have had a much more exciting ride than me.
I love Smee
Baby Ben almost got it out
I have a memory of Alice from when I was 4. We were watching the parade and she came by with a handful of ballons and she stopped at me and handed me all of them! It was like 3 or 4 balloons and I was sooo sad the next day because we were going home in our car and there was not room for them. My mom told me that we were leaving them for the next little girl who was staying in the room. I remember not caring too much about that little girl...I WANTED THOSE BALLOONS!
The lot of us. If you count there are 17 of us. I lied a bit sorry. The house said 16 could stay in but we had 1 extra baby. I did not want to say before just in case. Bad us.
