Forums Closed

As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Angela, great job again with the update. I taped the show but haven't watched it yet. I read the update so now I can save myself some time. I don't need to watch it now!
I'll try to watch it live Tuesday. Kids are back at school and it would be a nice way to celebrate some time to myself! Maybe I can do a recap, but don't know if I have the patience to recap as thoroughly as you do!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Hi Michelle!
What works for me is capturing key phrases while the actors are acting and then going back later and 'reliving the moment', so to speak and just typing it out.
I guess recaping for me comes from having to listen to customer's concerns and retaining the information for a manager to make a determination about. We do a LOT of typing off the top of our heads everyday.
By all means, take Tuesday! I'm going out for lunch with my husband since the weather is so good, everyone will be back at work or in school and we can have the beach all to ourselves!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
I got back into Y&R while I was off these last two weeks, now today I have to work from 12-8P and have to miss it. These recaps are fantastic! I'll be checking in later to see what happens today.

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Angela,
Wow time alone with your husband, now there's something I don't get much of! Have fun.
I'll give today a try, then my recap days are over. (I'm basically a lazy typer, so I use abbreviations for people's first names.) I think tomorrow is the last day Sandy needs recaps.
O.K., so Jack is still fuming about Victor having something to do with Tuvia's flop. He says he'll find out what V. did and "nail him". Brad can't concentrate on Jack because he's worried about Ash.
Cut to Brittney (who? I almost forgot about her, we haven't seen her for so long). She tells JT Rowell wants her to quit but she isn't. She's an adult. She wants her freedom. Classic JT line, "then your with the wrong guy", speaking about Rowell. R. goes to see Bobby and tells him B is quitting. B is very egotistical and tells R he doesn't think she will. R want to know if B is sleeping with Bobby. More ego from Bobby.
Cut back to Brad. The deputy calls him. His wife has been in an accident. B asks if she's o.k. The deputy won't answer, just tell him to come as soon as he can. (Don't worry, it's too early in the story line to have her die yet.)
Big long drama day for Mrs. C. and Jill. C. tells J she's been playing a game. J is crushed. Mrs c tells Jill, in a begging type voice, "you really didn't want to put me in a home?" C stands up. J says, "It just keeps getting better." C says, "Thought you'd be pleased. Now I can talk to you and call you my daughter." J-too late. yOu abandoned me. C-I'm sorry. J- that helps? C-is any way to be mother and daughter? J- Frankly, no. C- try not to be upset. J - I wouldn't know how to bigin. C - come here. Jill does and Mrs. C hugs her. Ester walks in. Her mouth hangs open. She starts in on Jill, Mrs. C. tells her this is going to be a happy home form now on. Jill leaves. Pan to Jill saying, "Oh my God." ( See? I told you, big drama day.)
But wait, now back to Brad. He tries to get over to Ash's car. Deputy won't let him. B. - Are you telling me I'm too late? (We are left in supspense.)
Nick questions Victor about his dirty business. V denies Newman employees buying it all up or marking the products down. N asks about premo shelf space. V replies "How fortunate" and bascially blows off Nick's inuendo. V says he doesn't like Jack and Brad so he doesn't feel bad if the company goes under. He respects John and has always cared for Ash. Nick says this must be upsetting her. V says not to worry, he called her and told her to stay out of it for the sake of the baby. Nick makes a crack about how much better that must have made her feel.
Of course, that's a great segway to Ash. Whew, she's still alive, but barely. Brad and jack helps move the SUV. (That was goofy.) Now Brad can see Ash. she doesn't look alive.
Back to Jill. She's talking to Larry. L can't believe Mrs. C. is able to walk and talk. He asks Jif she's not happy. J says it wasn't going to be as easy as she thought to put Mrs. C. in nursing home. L likes that. J asks him if he's so happy because that means there's hope for her.
Back to V. He tells N. it's just business. N says he trusts Jack and V jsut doesn't care about Jabot. V asks if he's forgotten V grew up in an orpanage and had to fight for everything he has. N says, "I fight too, but I fight fair." V says, "I don't?" N says, "you said it." V explodes at him and tells N to get the he** out right now!
Cut back to Ash. Brad is daydreaming again about their happiness. Jack snaps him out of it by telling him A is coming to. A lot of talk back and forth like, Hang in there--tell Abby I love her-- no Ash, you're going to tell her, blah, blah, blah as Brad tries to give Ash the will to live (darn, I nee some of that dramatic music in here right now). Oh no, it looks like she loses consciousness again...Then we see the firefighters with the Jaws of life. (My DH is a firefighter and has had to do this. I'd like him to watch it to see how legit the footage was. It seemed to easy to me.) They get the door off and the paramedics aren't even there. Now, I know that's not legit. Oops, got carried away there. Sorry. Back to the plot.
We cut to Jill complaining to Larry that Mrs. C. was having a love fest. Jill whines about how mean mrs C as always been to her and now she just wants her to forget all about that and call her Mommy. L asys he thinks "that's what J wants, look at you". J says, "Well I'm not made of stone. and cries on L's shoulder. (Gag me with this story line.)
Cut back to Brad. He goes in the ambulance with Ash, all the while dramatically begging her to hang on.
Yep, that's the end. The very wimpy previews only show Brad at the hospital telling Jack that while he was in the ambulance with her, she kept slipping out of consciousness. But wait, they show Olivia. Oh no. She looks very ominous.
The end!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Thanks for the recap! My electricity went out this morning and I missed everything but the last 15 minutes. I hope Nick is the one that finds out about Victor's dirty business, now that would be interesting! Wonder if Ashley will lose the baby?

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Michelle,
You did just fine! And for my money, they can keep Brittany. I liked her much better in Alien Nation. lol
I hope Victoria finds out from Michael, starts a relationship with him and blackmails Victor to be in this so called mentor program to take over the company too.
In any case, Victor is in enough hot water with the Abbotts and Brad about to go upside his head for talking to Ashley about the battle, let alone the accompanying accident and Nick trying to find a way to take N.E from him, unbeknowst to Victor and refereeing Nikki and Sharon's fued.
Will Nikki ever make it into Jabot to find out how things went for Tuvia?

<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">Yes, she finally did, but not for long. At the end of the show, Jack called her and she and Nick left the office to go to the hospital. Guess once the launch was completed nobody really needs to do much work around there...
Now, for the rest of the 1/2 hour. Brad is talking to Ash and unborn baby. Blah, blah, cry, cry, enourage her to live, why did she get in the car, blah, blah. I actually zoned most of it out. Sorry, I have no quotes for you. He ends by saying, "I'll always love you."
John makes it to the hospital. Jack fills him in. I need to clarify my earlier statement. The Dr.s need to take the baby out before Ashely goes into labor or it'll probably kill Ash. (I told you I wasn't listening very closely.) Jack tells John it's all the black knights fault. (I love it when he calls Victor the black knight.)
Rowell continues to be upset at Brittany. B. asks if R is breaking up with her. To sum it up, he basically says yes unless you quit. She says she wished he'd understand. He tells her he's getting his stuff to move into Billy's room. She begs him not to.
Back to Brad crying over Ahleys bed. I'm practically snoring (notice I said practically, Elaine), then all of a sudden, FLATLINE noise. I run over to the TV. (Kind of reminded me of me with my alarm clock this a.m.) The Dr.s rush in. You hear them say, prep for OR, baby is in distress...END OF SHOW! Whew, that was a good ending!
Then, Monday on Y & R, (Monday, what about Friday?)...They show Michael getting a little flirty with Victoria. Then Colleen asking Brad if Ash and the baby will be O.K. and Brad looking very ominious...
Now, Sandy, I won't fall for the "I forgot to set my VCR" one again. My recap days really are done this time!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
You guys -- this thread is crackin' me up. Seriously, who needs to watch?! LOL
I got home last night, but I forgot to re-set the VCR, so I won't get to watch until tomorrow. Let me know if anything big happens!
Thanks so much for the recaps and the smiles.

Seriously, glad you enjoyed the recaps.
I've been listening to Y & R while reading the message boards, so I haven't been listening very well. (Back to my ususal viewing habits of not paying very good attention because they put me to sleep if I'm not actively doing something.) It's 1/2 over already, but I'll listen better now.
Right now Brad is crying because they need to go in and try to deliver the baby or they might lose them both. Ash's chance for survival aren't good.
In the previous 1/2 hour, Bobby affers JT a job at the club.
Brittany tells poor Rowel, who has been planning a special evening for the 2 of them, that she didn't quit.
Sharon goes to see Victor about Nick's suspions of dirty business. (Why doesn't she keep her nose out of it?)
I'll write more in a 1/2 hour...
