Taggin' Along Compliments of Disney! - Page 39 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

SAB looks great and you looked like you had a nice and relaxing afternoon. The pictures of Hope crack me up...kids do the strangest things...they don't realize those pictures will come back to haunt them one day!
What a great update! SAB looks awesome! (I am getting soooooo excited reading this TR!!!) What a relaxing start to your trip!!! all of your pictures....and Hope is so cute!!
My computer has been out a lot since I got home from FL. The first week it was a virus...now my internet is down most of the time. It is working right now but could go out at any time... crazy! It is supposed to be fixed by tomorrow. Wish me luck!! I love all your pictures!! I would love to stay at that resort someday...it is breath taking!! Sounds like you all had a wonderful time...can't wait to read more!!
What a great afternoon! Loved the pictures of SAB! It looks like you girls had fun. I was cracking up with Hope's pictures and your plumber butt crack reference.
Sounds like a great first day...the pool is one of the many reasons...ok one reason...why I'm thinking when we go next year to head to BC for the 7days since we are only going to do a week there next time instead of 2. But my only concern is getting to MK are the buses good???? I know you share with the other resorts but we were thinking of staying at the Contemp. but I really want BC...maybe when we don't spend as much time at MK and we start spending more time at Epcot which we are starting to but MK still wins!!!
That is too funny with Hope and her diaper...Layne just started trying to rip hers off Maybe she's telling me to start potty training! My older two were trained before their 2nd birthday.
I can't wait to see how she did with non face characters because my older 2 liked them from afar but were scared when they came up to say Hi. Layne was totally different with them.
Just finished my TR about a week ago, so I'm starting to read other people's now. You were there at the same time we were, but we got there Saturday the 18th and then left on Saturday the 25th and stayed at the Pop Century. We went over to the Beach Club one afternoon and got some ice cream at Beaches and Cream! Yummy! I have a picture of my 12 year old with ice cream all over his face and running down his arm! We loved the pool area! The only thing that I would be interested to hear about is the buses. We caught a bus one afternoon from the AK over to the BC and it took about 45 minutes to finally get there b/c we had to make so many stops at other hotels. I would love to stay at the BC, except that sort of scared me. It just seems like it would take forever to catch a bus to a park and then to get back home, too. What were your experiences? We've stayed at the Poly, WL, AKL, and Pop and I just don't remember that being an issue with those hotels. Love all your photos! It's fun to read what you were doing that day when we were there. We were at Blizzard Beach. AK, and Hollywood Studios that day!
What a wonderful pool!! I will have to say that hotdog looked really delish too
I think that pool makes me want to make a stay at that resort happen soon
Hope is just right down precious!! I think she is super duper cute!
That bathing suit top looks like the one I have from Vicky's secret hmmmm....
I totally love the plumber diaper pics...hahaha super cute!
Looks like a really relaxing afternoon
What a great first day so far (minus a cranky stewardess and the long wait for the room to be dry). My youngest was always afraid of ducks (and other birds), even at the zoo when we got to the area where the ducks wandered she was hysterical. It was at WDW when she was about 5 that suddenly instead of running from them she was running towards them and they loved her....followed her around everywhere she went
Love the pictures of Hope at the pool, she is so precious and the ones in the room...too cute. Diaper falling off or not, she looks like she is having an amazing time.
Lunch sounds delish, even if it was 'just' a hotdog (it's a Disney hotdog , so that makes it special! LOL!) Great afternoon at the pool and I loved the diaper issues Hope had - too funny!

I laughed at those shots of Hope at the end (pun intended) too! Kids are so funny aren't they?
So do I! Sometimes I just look at her and have to wonder what the heck is going through her little mind.

I would love to be laying on that pool chair with my little guy, only problem is he's too long! I am really liking your laid back style so far!
I hope you can stay at BCV too...you'll love it! One of my favorite things to do is nap with Hope. It's one of the best feelings in the world, so whether it's on my sofa or a lounge chair I'm game. I will be so heartbroken when she gets to big to lay on me, but I guess she'll just have to cuddle up next to me when that happens.

That better be the only time she wears her pants down that low. When she still looks cute and silly doing it, not when she looks like she should working for tips...if you now what I mean.

Those buttcrack pics of Hope are just too precious. Hold on to those for some blackmail in her teen years!
I never even thought about that, but I will definitely keep a stash of blackmail pics in a box somewhere.

That was the first time she fell asleep in it too! I think the day was just a little too much for her...poor thing! You know, she hasn't done that with her diaper since we've been back.

I wish I was there right now...it was that nice! As for her plumber butt...I have no idea what the heck she was doing. She hasn't done it since...maybe it was a Disney thing.

I took all of these pictures just to get you excited about your trip...so I guess I did my job.

I hope your computer feels better soon. If you get the chance you definitely need to stay there...so well worth it.

All she needed was a wrench and a sink and she would have been set!

It definitely is. I'd give anything to be lying there right now!

The busses weren't too bad, but we only used them to go to DTD and MK. The MK bus only shares it's stop with the YC, but the DTD bus goes to all of them...definitely wasn't fun when you are tired and just want to get back to your room. We had to go to the Swan, Dolphin, YC and then finally the BC. AK would be the only other park where you would need to use the bus system since HS and Epcot has the boat or you can walk.
I definitely don't want Hope taking her diaper off yet!!! Right now she's starting to hate having me put it on, but at least she's keeping it there!

Thanks for joining in! You definitely picked a good place to enjoy some ice cream. We didn't find the busses too bad, but like I said, we only used them for DTD and MK. The MK bus only shares it's stop with YC, so there were only two stops to make. DTD shares it's stops with all of those resorts, and BC is the second to the last to be dropped off and picked up. I guess it's the same at AK given your experience. If you can get past the bus system for DTD and AK, then this resort is so well worth it. I would definitely give it a try. BTW, didn't the weather seem super hot for that time of year? On Saturday be grateful that you left...we were dripping sweat just standing around!

What a good observation. Why yes, that is a bikini from Vicky's so I must say that you have great taste. I'm a sucker for hotdogs...I'd take one over a hamburger any day, and having one while sitting my SAB made it even tastier.

Once we got to our resort things definitely got a lot better. That was the first time she had ever seen a duck, and I've been wanting to take her to our local pond to feed them. After this experience I will definitely have to wait a while to do that. I think it would be very traumatic for her. It's good to know that she should grow out of it though.

Disney hotdogs are espeically tasty, but I love any kind of hotdog, so it's not hard to impress me.

Another great update Melissa. SAB sound wonderful and very relaxing. I loved when Evan was small enough to fall asleep on me too. Hope looks so cute "I'm a lean mean baby and I wear my diapers low" Now just get ready for when she pulld them off and runs around naked.
BTW, didn't the weather seem super hot for that time of year? On Saturday be grateful that you left...we were dripping sweat just standing around!
YES! I commented many times in my trip report about how hot it was and I am from Atlanta! On the Friday that you were there, it rained some and it felt like we were walking around in a sauna all day. We went to the MK that Saturday morning before we left and I remember it being very sticky by the time we left, which was probably 11:00am!
Great update!! SAB really does look awesome, and that sand area. I haven't seen or heard about that before.
I wish Josie would still nap on me like Hope did with you. That is the best!!!
I loved your hot dog lunch!! I'm a hot dog girl myself, and it's so funny but, I haven't gotten to the point in my trip report when I talk about my most favorite meal on the trip.............all I have to say is it was at a place that is one word, begins with a "C" and invloves a hot dog
