As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Congrats on winning the lawsuit! Sorry about all the wedding drama. I was fortunate that my parents were able to pay for our reception, but we paid for everything else (flowers, photo/video/DJ, cake, honeymoon). It sounds like you've been more than generous. If they want to have a honeymoon, they should pay for it! Not everyone wants a big trip. I'm guessing if they are three weeks out and didn't already have plans, it's not that important to them? I hope it all works out and there aren't any major blowups!!
Weddings can be so stressful! Hope it gets better quick! Congrats on winning the court case.
Thanks, Cam!!

Thanks, Marnie!!. This is the best support group on the planet!!!
Wow. I think my parents would've dropped over if I asked them to pay for our honeymoon! Why would they think someone else would pay for this? Craziness! That's like the one exciting thing couples plan and pay for on their own.
I had a little catching up to do. Congrats on your casino winnings and your exciting F&WF ressies! They all sound wonderful, especially Party for the Senses! Sooooo exciting about Hamilton! I saw it in NYC last February, and it was as good as I hoped it would be! It definitely lived up to the hype. I hope to see it again in Boston and/or Providence!
I am sorry the wedding is stressing you out Tara. You have been more than generous with your time and money. I am glad that the flowers are coming from a florist (my good friend is a florist and it is not any easy thing to do) - putting them together especially at the last minute would put any bride well over the edge and she likely would take others with her. Not the way to start out the big day.
Sorry that the future in laws took back their willingness to pay for a Honeymoon but it is not your responsibility either. May I suggest speaking to everyone and maybe everyone contribute. Are you doing the money dance at the wedding (traditional here in W.PA) - maybe announcing it is money for their honeymoon could help too.
Keep us posted and I'm sending you calming Pixies to help get you through these last few weeks. Feel free to vent as needed as you know we are all here for you. Can't wait to see all the pics. Glad the case is over and you had a favorable outcome.

This was Muffin's idea. Not Katie's. Honestly. We are working it out with them that they will definitely pay for some things.

Thanks, Denise!! We are definitely going to lay out a plan where Katie and Andy will pay something towards the trip. We have also already talked with Andy's mom, who travels a lot and will give those guys some hotel points as well. It will take a bit more hammering but I have a feeling things will work out okay.
Well, believe it or not, you guys, I haven't changed a thing in the past week on our trip!!! There still will be one or two tweaks but I am at the point where I know exactly what they are!! We are just waiting to see the ROL dining package come out.
On the wedding front,
I CAN'T BELIEVE MY BABY IS GETTING MARRIED IN JUST TWO WEEKS!!!
We went to pick up Katie's dress on Wednesday night and it fits like a glove and looks spectacular!! Today, I am taking my dress to the tailor to have the straps adjusted.
Muffin, Michael and Logan's tuxes should be arriving this week and speaking of such things, my sweet little grandson will be arriving late Tuesday night along with Gabby!!! We are picking them up at the airport around midnight, which will be fine because I have off on Wednesday!!
Gabby will be taking the train to Alexandria for the weekend to meet up with some of her old friends on August 4th and will arrive back on the 8th when Michael gets in!!! So we have Logan to ourselves from the 4th to the 8th and we have big plans!!
We are going to the zoo with my brother and his son, my niece Megan is hosting a bridesmaid's tea at her house, we are going to the movies and we plan go swimming lots!!
Also, on the 8th, our cousins from California will be arriving and my nephew will be coming in from Switzerland!! We haven't seen any of these guys for almost a year!!!
On August 11th, we have the wedding rehearsal and a lovely dinner to go to hosted by Andy's parents. Here is where I must say, at least I hope it will be lovely. They are paying around 100 bucks a plate for the meal!! It does include alcohol but my goodness, there are 31 people attending!!!
After the dinner, Katie, the bridesmaids, myself and Adrienne will head over to the Hilton Garden Inn for the night to get ready for our day of beauty!! The hair and make up people will arrive at 7 AM and it will take pretty much all day to get all of us looking gorgeous!!
The wedding is at 4:30 PM on the 12th and if the weather is decent, Katie and Andy will get married outside by a pond. If it is raining or too humid, the ceremony will take place inside by the huge fireplace in the restaurant.
After the ceremony, cocktail hour will begin while we are all having pictures taken and the servers will bring our hors de oeuvres and drinks to us!! Then we have a huge party to attend!!!
Those guys decided on a buffet dinner and picked some really great selections so I hope everyone leaves happy!! There will also be a shuttle to the hotel as many people are spending the night at the Hilton Garden Inn.!!
I hope I can get lots of decent pictures to share the day's events with you guys!!
Despite all of the stress and drama, we really are getting very excited!!!

Logan & Tara time...so grand and fun. Enjoy every moment as I know you will. Many good wishes for you all and for Katie on her special day as she and Andy embark on this new chapter of their lives together. Group Hugs ({})
Plans are looking good and I hope everything has come together now!
