Where are the kids? At home with their Dads! TR April 13-19, 2010 - Page 38 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Loved the crazy pics with Stitch and Mickey. We have never tried Ohana's for breakfast. I gave up on dinner because it is always so crazy and we always have to wait so long.

Great pics from 'Ohana! I so want to try breakfast there, but we have yet to get it done. We've done dinner several times, but for some reason I never manage to squeeze breakfast into our schedule. Hopefully soon! Looks like you ladies had a blast. So sorry about the rain... but, as I like to say, a rainy day at Disney is way better than a sunny day at home!

We finally meet up at DHS. The plan was to take a drop on the ToT. But the Norris girls decided to pass on that idea. So we all headed over to do the Animation Academy.
Here's a picture of all of us together!
We all voted on who to draw and ended up picking Ray from The Princess and the Frog. He was fun to draw and really cute too!
After our art lesson I got a call from Hugmonster. We were to meet up for ToT. I had been texting her a bit and she and her hubby were there waiting for us when we came out. They are both so very nice. I feel so bad b/c I didn't get one picture with them. We decided to part ways with the Norris' for a bit and we headed to ToT for our last drop of the trip.
I did have a pic of us that Sheri took. We were all excited to take that drop on the ToT. And it was fun!!!! After our drop Hugmonster and her hubby said their goodbyes as they had lots to do. It was nice meeting another passporter friend.
We met up again with Matt, Allie and Lindsey. We headed back to Muppets 3D. I had a little girl at home who was requesting an Animal t-shirt. So all the way to the back of DHS we go. By the time we got back there it was starting to rain.
By the time we got out of the show it was pouring down rain. It was like the skies opened up and buckets of rain were coming down. Matt and the girls decided to make a run for it. I loved meeting them. I just wish I would have had more time to hang out with them. Next time for sure!
We browsed the muppet store and they did have a cute pink shirt with Animal on it. Isabelle absolutely loved it! Score one for the mom team! Howvever the rain was not going to let up anytime soon. So we began our trip to the front of the park. This is us preparing to get really really wet. Don't ask me why we are smiling. We had our umbrellas up and ready. But they really didn't help to much. I had my flip flops on and could barely walk in them. The funny thing was that we would go so far and then wait a minute. Then we would say okay, let's make it to over there. We did that the whole way and it was so funny! We were soaking wet! It was a miserable feeling. But hey, we still had fun.
We headed back to the room and Sheri made it back to her room as well. Heather and I decided to take a little siesta so that we could stay up late for extra magic hours at the magic kingdom that night.
UP NEXT: Wishes dessert party and last night of fun
Sounds like a great day. I hear the Norris gang is a blast to hang out with. Glad you got the opportunity. Sorry the rain put a little damper on your exit. By the way great score on the shirt.

They caught us all smiling and looking at the camera!!!
After a nice long nap I felt much better. We got our stuff together(including ponchos) and headed over to the Magic Kingdom. We did some shopping at the Emporium. And then Heather and I used a counter service credit to get some corndog nuggets at Casey's. Mmmmmmm!
After that we headed toward tomorrowland. We went to the Laugh Floor which is always a good time. After that it was time to meet up with Sheri and get ready for the Dessert party. We saw Sheri and got in line with her. Got our wristbands and were taken to our table just shortly after that. We had a table right up front. It was perfect! Be ready for the pictures. Here they come:
here's a couple I borrowed from facebook
I have to admit that this was one of the most special events that I have ever done at WDW. Just having that table to be able to sit and not worry about the crowds was so awesome!!! And the desserts weren't to shabby either. Those chocolate covered strawberries were soooo gooood! What made it really special was having my good friends there to share it with me. It was a great ending to a wonderful trip!
Well now you've created a dilemma for me...I wanted to try to do the dessert party if it's available next year, and then decided against it. I am not a sweets eater though my DH and DD totally are!
Now with your pics I am like...hmmmm, maybe we should......
Great update, more please...
