As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.

Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

October 6, 2017-Enjoying an amazing dinner at Victoria & Albert's with PP's Dot and Drew
My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Looks like a great meal so far! I have yet to try this one yet and as the rest of the meal seems like it will be as good or better, I must try to fit this in on my October trip! Won't be easy as I will be doing the F&W Fest and so many other new eateries I want to try in Disney Springs and beyond.
Oh tell me about it! It feels like so many (new) restaurants, so little time right now. Mind you, it's fun to try them.

Homecoming doesn't do much for me - I want to like it, as I've heard so many wonderful reviews, but the menu just doesn't grab me. The Edison won't be open when we're there, but I'm so glad we'll get to try Paddlefish just three weeks after it opens! Anyway, you can find out about the rest of our meal in a moment....
Thursday 22 September – part seven: can this meal continue to be that good?
So I left you last just as we’d finished our amazing appetizers at Spice Road Table. What about the rest of the meal? Well, for entrée, I had the yellow fin tuna, which was down as spicy on the menu, but they made it as not spicy for me with eggplant, zucchini capers salad and basil oil. Oh wow, every mouthful was a complete and utter delight.
Mark went for the mix grill skewers of marinated beef and chicken with French green beans, toasted almonds, and rosemary potatoes, and I heard nothing but good things from him about this dish.
For dessert, we both went for the chocolate pyramid with ice cream, which sounded wonderful, and certainly looked it. Once again, this was excellent. I couldn’t believe how well a restaurant could deliver on all three courses. Usually there’s one item you think is a bit weaker than the rest, but not here.
The only problem we had with this meal was the annoyingly loud group – I’m guessing they were out on the veranda and they sounded as if they’d had a bit too much to drink. They were very rowdy, and unfortunately it did spoil the quiet and romantic atmosphere in the restaurant, which was a great shame.
Our server was superb, and couldn’t do enough for us, regularly checking back to see whether she could do anything for us. She got a very good tip for being so wonderfully attentive.
All in all, we couldn’t fault this meal at all, and we both agreed it’s become our favourite restaurant in World Showcase, and probably amongst our favourites across the whole of Disney.

We headed out and made it as far as France…
… before we met up with Janine (FanOfMickey) and Marie (CRCrazy), so we chatted, but not for too long, as we were all getting very hot and bothered!
I got another Grand Marnier Slush, which helped to cool me down…
… and we headed over to the United Kingdom…
… where we browsed the shops:

I was shocked at how small the back shop now is, now the character meet and greet area they used to have is completely closed off now.
Next: “the final boarding call”… over and over and over and over again!
OK, I'm convinced to try Spice Road next time I'm there! It's kind of like a hidden gem; it doesn't appear to be very busy much of the time. Shhh, let's keep it that way. Little passporter meet! Grand marnier slushies help everything.

Your meal looked fabulous at Spice Road Table, enough that I am going to add it to one of my trips in 2017! Walking around the WS is my favorite thing to do in Epcot but when that sun is beating down on you, it can take away from the enjoyment somewhat, but at least you can always duck into a shop to catch some air conditioning when needed. I love the shops in Great Britain but I really do miss getting the chance to see Pooh.

Wow, a 9.5 rating?! It all did look (and sound) fantastic!
It was seriously one of the best meals we've had at Disney World in a long time, especially outside of the signature restaurants. Everything was pretty much perfect!

Well.... On this trip we did the brunch at the California Grill, and we were due to go to Tiffin's. We didn't make it, but we are planning on going there in March!
