As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Oh, I just hate the moment on these trips when Isaiah has to leave! Poor guy. Knowing that he'll get his trip when he's 10 (or 9!) doesn't exactly help a 6-yr-old deal with the disappointment NOW. I know that he'll be spoiled by all those adults and will make out like a bandit again with gifts, though! The lion king suite looks great--ideal for a family. I like interior hallways also, but, like you, I've become a resort snob and will probably never stay there. Funny that they have bad underwater music at the pool!

How heartbreaking for little Isaiah when he had to leave! But it seems you all managed to have a great day anyway. Can't wait to hear what treasures you all get for Isaiah!

Poor Isaiah! I have to laugh that he almost weaseled himself into your next trip AOA looks great - and my DH will love to hear that there are interior hallways; that's his biggest complaint about the values and mods. He hates it!!! And it was very hot that day!!!!

Poor Isaiah! I feel so bad for him every time he has to leave you!
Your dinner at RFC looked yummy. That dessert was crazy big!
I am wanting to at least go and look at AOA whenever I get back. It looks really well themes.
Thank you for all the pics of AOA. They sure did an amazing job with the theming! Poor Isi. So hard too be the one not included, but yet, what an awesome bonding time with the others.
All caught up, again. Awesome times with your family but so sorry about the wait at O'Hana. Glad the manager made a great effort to make it right. Love the AoA suite and would stay there if have an opportunity. Will be sure to check it out when we go in November. Ok, ready to hear more of your adventures with the boys.
oh My heart goes out to Isaiah.... It had to have been hard on you all. But as he loves Disney so much , its seems even harder for him. AOA looks really cool. I can't wait to stay there. I think the cars section would be my choice, but since quite often I am solo these days, it will need to be the Little Mermaid section.

I fell behind...really far behind, I feel like I just caught up...so instead of me admitting that word is actually taking me away from my TR reading, I will just blame it on the fact that you just posted too quickly....yes I don't feel as neglectful now
Actually I really enjoyed having so many wonderful posts to catch up with so I guess you are posting at a wonderful speed....I am just being a slow reader.
Glad Teppan Edo was such a hit for everyone and that you all enjoyed, also glad that Isaiah's weapon was found and returned safely (never can have enough weapons).
Love your ride photo from RNRC - priceless, too funny. Isaiah would make a perfect chewbacca I think, glad that you and the boys got to enjoy multiple drops and rides on ToT and RNRC. Dinner sounded hysterical, sorry you had to set the table, I agree with the fried chicken entree, I order that all the time but it is SO MUCH CHICKEN....I never get passed a piece, then I will pick on a second, I always feel bad not finishing it becuase it is so good.
Great anniversary magic for your parents at the MK, love the pictures.
What a full day at the AK, glad you got to enjoy everything and so glad Eric could join you guys, sorry about the long, long wait...definitely too long but they definitely outshined themselves with the we aplogize magic, love the fact that your brothers were "stars" of the show, I am sure the boys will remind them of this often. The cake, the bag sent to the hotel...definitely wonderful service.
What a sad goodbye...my heart hurt thinking about it, having to leave the "coolest aunt" and his brothers....and you promised him 9 huh? I have a feling he is taking notes....before you know it he will be having a 9th brithday trip that will last 30 days
Love the pictures from the AoA, really looks like a fun resort and the theming is wonderful,
Excellent update. So sorry Isi was so upset. I completely understand. I'm not sure I will have an excuse to stay at AOA, but I would like to see it. All the pictures have been really great.
My sister Beverly trained me so well, Sharon, that even living by myself in my own home for decades, to this day it takes a conscious effort for me to leave the toilet seat up!
Good job Beverly. Maybe the boys need a sister? I'll tell DSIL to get on that!

It was nice to have all that room, but I did miss the amenities of a deluxe resort!

Great photos around AoA. It looks great. I know my kids would love it. The extra room space is awesome.
It's great for families, especially with kids who don't want to share a bed! However, the bed in the parent portion of the room is only full size, not queen size. It was fine for me by myself, but may not be enough for some couples.

Poor Isaiah. Of course, he's so cute and irresistable that I'll probably end up taking him even before he's 9. He asked why he had to wait until he was 9 and I told him if I let him stay now, he'd miss his mom. He said, "No I won't!" Poor DSIL! I had to explain that even the older boys miss their mom, but they can handle it.

He got plenty of treats. I forgot to mention that we saved him a lot of the stuff from the basket Meg sent, too!

If it were up to me, I'd probably choose Cars, but solo, the Little Mermaid is the best choice.
