As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Still catching up, but had to stop and say how much I LOVED your teacup ride with Alice and the White Rabbit! And kudos to that PP photographer for capturing some of the best pictures that I have ever seen. And I do believe that you turned back into a little girl yourself - - your smile just says it all!
So I have finally sat down to catch up on this TR and Oh. My. Goodness!!!! So many magical things happened for you so far! My kids were SOOO jealous of your company on the teacups! All the pictures are fantastic, but my faves so far are the ones at CMM - the one of you and Chip and Dale is great and all the ones of the kids are so sweet!

I'm going to respond in stages
First of all, the pictures of Josie doing the hula class are absolutely adorable! She is definitely not shy in the spotlight.
I need French help for my trip too...I'll email you about that
I would have chosen the balcony and wine and wishes over Illuminations any night!!
Beautiful PP pics!! I love the Halloween ones, especially of Andre, so cute!!!
LOVE MK RD!! Our first time was last year and now I Have to do it again!! All teary eyed and all
I love Andre's little big boy haircut!! He's so cute no matter what, but I do like it.
Glad you got a better table for 1900 PF. And I think it's great the Josie blew off the Prince for Cinderella...That's great!
Sorry you missed storytime with Belle, but you'll be back sooner than you know it and for real
And I know it's blurry, but this is one of my very favorite pictures. The way Josie is looking at you like "Wow mom, can you believe this is actually happening??" Love it!!
I know I already knew about it, but seeing the AK family of the day pics was awesome!! I love the first one with you behind Josie all paparazzi with the video camera.
And Josie's serious pulling up the flag face is too much! But, I think my fave is just the one of Andre peeking around from behind your leg. So cute!!
Fabulous!!! More magic please!!
And you are more than welcome my friend! Now I'm going to have to put one of those on my list of must-drinks for this trip

Wow... that is a lot of magic for one day! Your family certainly is getting the royal treatment this trip!!! Those pics are just incredible. You have such a beautiful family! And, of course, I'm also admiring those Yak Attacks. I could use one of those right about now!
Thank you.
This really was some royal treatment and I'm still in shock about it all.

I'm definitely putting a Yak Attack on my list for next trip, that looked yum-O!
I had no idea about that either, and I really was more amazed at all of the perks that came with it. On your upcoming trip, start wondering around Pizzafari around 9:30ish and see what happens. We were walking back from KS towards CMM and it was right about there this CM grabbed us.

I know, and at times I feel bad about it too, like it's not fair for one family to get SO much magic

Sounds like you had an enjoyable lunch. I've been to AK on 4 different years and I've never eaten at any of their CS.
OMG, that lunch was terrific! The asian sandwhich was the best!!!

I feel like her little leopard face and riding on daddy's shoulders is what got the CM attention. This trip can never be topped that is for sure.
Andre's hair from here on out was always really funny because we never knew what it would be doing

Yes, yes......I will get that pixie out and send her your way
FoTLK gives me chills on any normal day, so you can only guess how I was feeling this day.
Make sure you get a Yak Attack with your mom, sounds like you both could use one....or two

This was my fav pic too and that is why I posted it, I wish it wasn't blurry because her face was the most precious thing. I will never forget that look in her eyes.
You need to report back to me on Storytime with Belle, I'm sure it will be amazeballs!!!

Thanks Cam!
After hearing those girls talking about it, you could notice it even more. The new CM's just seemed overwhelmed and timid. I don't think that time of year is as slow as it used to be.
Well I'm emotional. I keep getting all teary reading about all your magic. I'm going to be a mess when you tell the next story! Did they hand you tissues at the Barber Shop? Because that's what happened to me. And the ears are new! Well, the script on the back is different than both my boys' anyway.
I just love all your happy smiling faces in all these pictures!
NO, they didn't offer me any tissues. I almost felt like I was crazy for sobbing the way I was, when they handed me that little certificate of bravery....I really lost it
