Three Adults & a Toddler – 6/7-13/09 - UPDATED 11/20 - Page 37 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad to hear you liked the Nemo show. I haven't seen it or FOTLK and I can't wait for Sept.
Dylan looked liked he wasn't real sure of Goofy. He is soooo cute.

Just got all caught up. I'm loving your TR so far. I'm thinking of doing concierge next time and the hot chocolate and kahlua just sold me lol. Can't wait to hear more about your trip. Love the tie dye shirts. They look great in the pictures and Dylan is just too adorable.
Just getting caught up - great pictures! (Your baby is so sweet!) We didn't see Nemo when we were there b/c we had recently seen Nemo on Ice, but I think next time it may be on the to do list...
Great update! Finding Nemo looks wonderful. I've never seen it and am particularly looking forward to it.

The Nemo show is awesome! If you haven't seen it or haven't seen it in a while I recommend fitting it in.

Dylan warmed up to Goofy towards the end and before we actually got up to him he kept pointing at him and saying "Foofy!".

Tucker house was good food and the reserved seats for Nemo made it even better! There are more pictures of Dylan & I with characters. It was a very hot day!

Thanks so much for the comments about our shirts and especially Dylan! The Kahlua and hot chocolate was a highlight!

Thank you about my baby! Definitely have Nemo on the list for next time.
Once we were in the room there were a few more surprises awaiting us. Mike & I received a card from Mickey & Minnie wishing us a Happy Anniversary with a 20% off coupon for PhotoPass. Becki also received a card from Mickey wishing her a Happy Birthday along with Pooh dressed in Safari attire and a birthday cake ‘towel’. Becki also received an invite to Afternoon Tea that I was taking her to tomorrow for her birthday (concierge did this for me which was great!).
We then went out to the lounge and had some snacks – which was our dinner. I don’t really remember what we had, but it was all pretty delicious. I think there were some samosas, meatballs, cheese & crackers and there were uncrustables for kids. Mike had a few beers and I had a glass of wine too. Side story here: Mike apparently had never heard of or seen an uncrustable before because he stated how neat the little round peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut in half were and was impressed that they went to this much trouble to do all that. I told him, “Dear, they’re uncrustables. You can buy them in the store at home.” After we ate we decided to go out and see some animals.
Dylan started to get a bit crabby at this point – he hadn’t had a nap all day I don’t think – so Mike took him up to the room so Becki & I could do some more exploring. Becki & I also went to explore the gift shop during this time. Becki tried to load one of her gift cards with some more money while in the gift shop and it turned into quite the fiasco. She wanted to put more on the gift card using her debit card, but the CM hit ‘cash’ instead. Long story short – she ended up having to use cash as there was no way to undo it (even with the help of a manager). Luckily she had the cash to do it with. I ended up purchasing some Hannah Montana sunglasses ($10.60 after tax) as I waited for the gift card fiasco to work out. (Yes I bought kid sunglasses. Mine were repeatedly falling down my face or off my head and it was driving me crazy, so these were a tighter fit and I didn’t have that problem anymore.)
We headed back up to the room to see if Dylan was awake yet and see about heading back to AK for PM EMH. I don’t think he was awke when we got back, but he awoke shortly after and we tried to get him to get mocing, but it was not happening. We thought we were ok until we tried to put him in the stroller and he threw a fit! (Thank god we were still in the room.) That made our decision that we were not leaving tonight. So he had a bath and went to bed about 8:30-8:45pm. The rest of us took turns going to the lounge and getting dessert and more of the hot chocolate and kahula. The rest of us hit the hay around 10pm. (I guess we did too much in our first day and a half at the world and needed some rest.)
Memories from our second day:
The weather today was…sunny & hot.
Today we walked…6.16 miles.
Today we spent…$64.55 (on cookie & water, lunch (minus tip), and sunglasses).
The best thing today was…seeing the Nemo show!
The worst thing today was…getting a sunburn on the back of my neck because I forgot to put sunscreen on.
The funniest thing today was…that I bought Hannah Montana sunglasses.
Today we tried…Tusker House priority seating for the Finding Nemo show
and the result was…it was a great meal and a great deal to beat waiting in such a long line in the heat.
The most magical moment today was…Dylan meeting Goofy at Camp Minnie-Mickey.
Oh, poor little guy. He just had to much fun earlier in the day. I know how it is to have to give in to the little one.
Don't feel bad. Last trip I bought kids Tinkerbell sunglasses and I loved them. Still have them too! I didn't like any of the adult sunglasses and I am tiny, so they kids fit better any way.
I don't believe it!! Disney doesn't make the Uncrustables fresh, on the premises? The horror! I guess your DH never noticed the packaged ones they sell in the parks. Sorry about Dylan's crabbiness, but at least you didn't waste time going somewhere to only have to turn around and head back to AKL.

What great surprises in your room. Sorry Dylan was so crabby, but at least he got a good night's rest, so hopefully tomorrow will be a good day for him.
