10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 36 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What an enjoyable evening!
It's been years since we stopped in for a drink at Mizner's! We may have to add that back in one of these days.
It was such a great night and enjoyed every bit of it. Mizner's is a great lounge and always enjoy going there.

I love exploring the resorts as well and especially the deluxes as there is so much more to see than some of the others. Just a great ending to an amazing night.

Great pictures from the GF! Sounds like a great ending to your evening!
Glad you enjoyed the photos as I love exploring this resort so much! So photogenic! It was a great ending but quite tired as always as packing so much into my long days, which seems to be the norm for me on any trip!
No update tonight unfortunately! Looking at a trip possibilities for October. Lot to check out. Not WDW this year, but most likely next year. Scaling it back a bit this year! We shall see! Hope to get one out during the week but not always easy!

Oooh, please tell us what you are thinking for Oct 2018.
Just a lot of things up in the air at the time. Could be somewhere in the Caribbean, Cancun or even Las Vegas with several friends from home. Nothing concrete yet. A shorter trip than usual and probably in the 4-5 day range. We shall see.

All sound like cool options! I hope it all works out for you and that there'll be a trip report in due course.

I do as well. I really can't get going on the planning until my friends and I work out the details for Las Vegas. Seems like it may happen, but not concrete yet. I will probably combine this trip with something else and one of the Caribbean options after Vegas. Perhaps, 3-4 days. I may also just extend Vegas as so much to do there. We shall see. Lots of choices.
Won't be until October. There will be a TR, I'm sure. Gotta complete my latest first and a long way to go on it still.

There is a lot to do in Vegas and not just in the city itself, but outside - Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, Grand Canyon and Death Valley are the obvious ones. Depending if you're interested in national parks, there are so many more in the area you can do if you do a road trip.
Saturday, October 7th (Part I) After another late night, I slept in a bit today. I had also covered most of Universal Orlando on my visits the first two days. Today would be just to experience what I hadn’t already and return to some favorites. I was up around 9:15 am and got ready for another day. Today, would be my final day in Universal and will be heading to Walt Disney World tomorrow morning!
I went downstairs to the Orchard Court Lounge to have a quick breakfast. I had a croissant, Oikos yogurt and a coffee. I returned to my room and just made sure I had everything for my day. I also did some packing and organizing of items in my bags as I may not be returning to my room until later tonight. I wasn’t in a hurry to head out, so I relaxed for a bit and watched some news and other programming on the TV.
At around 11:15 am or so, I left my room to the lobby and took the other elevator to ground level and walked over to the water taxi dock for the ride to Universal Studios at City Walk. There was about a five minute wait for a boat. One thing I can say is the wait times for boats have generally only been a few minutes, which is good. I can’t exactly say that about the Disney buses at times!
Dr. Doom attraction at Universal from our boat at the Royal Pacific
There were quite a few people at our resort waiting for the boat and we filled about half of it. We arrived at City Walk in about five minutes. I departed the boat and headed in the direction of the Islands of Adventure entrance. It was a pretty short walk.
Today, I would be going to Universal for unfinished business and some happy returns. First in line was Seuss Landing as I hadn’t gone here the first two days. Although, mainly for young kids there are a couple of attractions I enjoy somewhat. A reverse from day one as I would be going in the opposite direction in Islands of Adventure, by starting with Seuss Landing as opposed to Marvel Super Hero Island on day one.
I explored this part of the park for a bit before going on my first attraction. It was quite busy and lots of young kids as you can imagine. The lines weren’t that long, but I used my Express Pass as always a good thing and cut down a bit of waiting.
My first of two attractions here. It’s a fun ride and not crazy. Go through the ride in a car and see various Dr. Seuss scenes and characters. Sort of like the Winnie The Pooh ride in Fantasyland.
Next it was off for a short walk to my next attraction in Seuss Landing. It’s my favorite of the two I went on. It’s The High in The Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride. Quite a long name for an attraction. Another mild ride but enjoyable. There is generally a few minutes wait between rides as they only have one train running at a time.
This portion of the park is not that big and doesn’t take long to see and experience everything you want to. The crowds aren’t usually that bad either as in other parts of IOA.
Well, I had done everything I wanted to do here and continued onward to the next part of Universal adjacent to Seuss Landing. I wanted to see a show I had seen on my first visit in 2004 to Universal but hadn’t since.
I arrived at the Lost Continent section of the park as I wanted to visit the two attractions located here. There is the 7th Voyage of Sinbad stunt show, which I’ve never seen and wanted to. Unfortunately, it wasn’t operating today! I will save it for another trip. The other attraction, Poseidon’s Fury was running and decided to do this one as it’s been many years since I saw this show.
Before going to Poseidon’s Fury, I explored this area of the park for a bit as the next show time for the attraction wasn’t for another 20 minutes.
It says #1 theme park restaurant in the world. I’m not sure about that as I’ve heard mixed reviews of this eatery. I guess they didn’t check Epcot’s restaurants!
As you can see, it’s quite crowded today and this isn’t the most popular part of the park. Well, it’s a Saturday!
I made my way over to Poseidon’s Fury, which was very close by. As this was an attraction with defined show times my express pass wouldn’t be used to its’ full advantage as I’d still have to wait in line until we were let in for the show. But, there was a separate queue for this and got to go to near the front of the line.
The outside to Poseidon’s Fury, which has great theming.
After waiting in line for a few minutes we were let into the show. It’s a walking show with a few parts to it. It’s a good show and lasts about thirty minutes. The show was quite crowded. It is a bit over the top at times, but the special effects are very good. Lots of sound, water and fire effects to the show. It’s enjoyable but not a must on every visit. It had been since 2004 when I last saw this show and it hasn’t changed! Perhaps, time for something new or a major update?
I had seen everything I wanted to in the Lost Continent. I walked onward to the next area and a revisit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which I enjoyed so much on the first two days in Universal Studios Florida.
NEXT: Doesn’t Sound Like a Good Combo, But I’ll Give It a Try!

On our one trip to US/IOA, we ate at Mythos and loved our meals. In fact, I had one of the best tomato soups I have ever had there. Loads of fun so far this day.
