10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 35 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a beautiful end to a beautiful dinner!! The three of you look very elegant as well! I have to agree with Dot on the eyeball dessert. I'm sure is was delicious but it reminds me of a giant futuristic eye with weird lashes!! That being said, I most likely would have gobbled it down!!

It was a great dinner and experience we all enjoyed so much! I love that photo! That dessert was a bit odd looking and good description. Only one way to eliminate the look of it and I took care of it very easily!

October 6, 2017-Enjoying an amazing dinner at Victoria & Albert's with PP's Dot and Drew
My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Friday, October 6th (Part VIII) After saying goodbye to Dot and Drew I headed over to Mizner’s Lounge, which was a short walk from outside Victoria & Albert’s. I walked in here and it was quite crowded. All the tables were taken but there were a couple openings up at the bar and I took a seat. I was hoping Tammi was working tonight, but she wasn’t. I’ve missed her my last couple of trips and she is so friendly and a great bartender. Sheila was working tonight and she knows me as well from my many previous visits and I think highly of her as well.
I didn’t need a beverage from all the wine pairings earlier as they do add up but I felt fine as it was over a four+ hour meal. I ordered a Bailey’s on the rocks and enjoyed that for a while. I got to talking one of the CMs at the bar who had just ended his shift at Citrico’s, where he is a waiter. He may be the head waiter as he seemed to be in charge of a lot of staff. I told him I had dined at Victoria & Albert’s earlier, but he had never dined here. But, he hopes to shortly as he loves his food as we got to talking about my experience at Victoria & Albert's tonight and was impressed as I showed him my menu!
He also gave some good recommendations for some of the Disney Springs eateries including Frontera Cocina, Morimoto’s and The Boathouse. I hope to try The Boathouse in the future as I dined at both Frontera Cocina and Morimoto’s on my 2016 trip and enjoyed them very much!
I just relaxed here for a while and enjoyed my Bailey’s. I always like these. I paid up my bill and on to something else.
Before getting a Lyft back to the Royal Pacific I felt exploring the Grand Floridian was the thing to do as the resort is so beautiful and especially inside the main building. Even better as it was late and there wouldn’t be many people around and makes taking photos that much better! I know I’ve done this on previous trips and in my TRs but it never gets old for me. I left Mizner’s and began my little tour of the Grand Floridian.
Grand Floridian Villas
View inside main building outside of Mizner’s
Always love the grand staircase at the GF!
An even better view!
Downstairs in the main lobby/lounge. It is very relaxing as you’ll see!
So beautiful in the lounge and decorated amazingly as I love the look and feel to it!
Yes, it is quite relaxing and more so than one’s bed for some!
Back upstairs at Mizner’s lounge, which was closing. There were still a couple of people here.
Quite a colorful sky reflected by some of the lights in Disney.
The check-in counter at Citrico’s across from Victoria & Albert’s
An empty Citrico’s
I decided to go in and get a closer look. I’ve dined here several times and always had great meals and service. One of my favorite eateries in all of Disney World. It’s been several years as just too much to choose from now and many new ones I need to experience!
Outside the famous doors of Victoria & Albert’s!
Another great view near Mizner’s
The big band setup in front of Mizner’s. Always very enjoyable to hear them play on my visits. I usually go herebefore a dinner at the Grand Floridian. I think they begin at 5 pm each day.
Love the carpet design in the lobby!
Still on the second level in proximity of some of the upscale shops. They are worth a visit but are quite expensive. But, you can purchase some items that won’t set you back too much in the resort store, which has an assortment of WDW merchandise.
It was getting quite late and I was certainly tired. It was getting close to 12:30 am and I was certainly ready to return to Universal. I went down to the lobby level and went outside to use my phone to contact Lyft for a ride back to the Royal Pacific. I had a confirmation rather quickly as I thought it may take some time as it was late. But then again, it was a Friday night, so not a problem. My Lyft driver was a few minutes away, so in the meantime I got a few more photos.
I love this car and one of my favorite things about the Grand Floridian.
A good companion to the car and a great duo!
My Lyft driver arrived and I was on my way back to the Royal Pacific. I talked with my driver for a bit, but I forget her name. I thought she was good and thankfully I got back much faster than the trip to the Grand Floridian earlier.
Arriving back home!
Once we arrived at my resort, I received a text from Lyft and paid my fare. It was about $35 including tip and close to the fare earlier. Not bad as it’s about a 20-25 minute ride. I entered the lobby of the Royal Pacific at nearly 1 am and surprisingly it was much more active than I thought it would be as there were many guests in the lobby area.
I took the elevator downstairs from Tower 2 to the second floor and walked to my room. I had prepared most of the things I would need for tomorrow before going to the Grand Floridian earlier this evening. This was a good choice as I didn’t want to do this now and just wanted to head to bed. I called it a night, but had the TV on before I fell asleep. Certainly, no surprise!
NEXT: Unfinished Business and Happy Returns!

I agree with Cheryl!! What a nice way to end your evening!! Practically perfect in every way!!
Great ending and so perfect from the amazing dinner and experience with a couple of great PP's to ending it at Mizner's and a tour of the GF when it's nice and quiet!

What a nice end to a great evening. I think we'll have to try Mizner's on our next trip.
It certainly was! I think it's one of the best lounges on property. Along with Bellevue at BWI and Victoria Falls at AK's JH. The one in Sanaa is quite nice as is Territory Lounge at WL. Although, the latter isn't as intimate or have the feel to the others but still good. I think you'll enjoy Mizner's.

Mizner's Lounge and wandering the Grand Floridian seem like a nice relaxing end to a long and tasty day.
Yes it was and enjoy Mizner's a lot as so relaxing and probably my favorite lounge on property. Good idea to do a little photo tour of the Grand Floridian as it helped working off my 4 1/2 hour meal!
