We Turned Her Into A Disney Lovin', Character Huggin', Thrill Ridin' Girl! COMPLETED 7/11 - Page 35 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sounds like a fun time! I love Selah's parasol. We walked by that stand and I told Nate that if we ever have a girl she would be getting one of those. I guess we get to get one on our next trip.
Another great afternoon!!! I could really go for some popcorn from Disney right about now!!
It was!!

Your pictures did come out too big. I know how PhotoBucket can be so annoying and frustrating! I have a love/hate relationship with PhotoBucket!
It was a great time! Thanks for helping me with photobucket!!

Thanks! I actually didn't do anything to the pictures. I have no idea how they got fixed. I went on there to fix them and they were all fixed. I was talking to someone else about this too. It is really weird.

Saying Goodbye to Some Friends, a Cruise and Fireworks. MK Part 4 2/3
Once we were all finished with shopping and the party we decided to check out the line for Mickey and Minnie one more time. We were not able to get video of the kids with them the first time and really wanted some video footage so we walked over and saw that the line was only 5 min.! This is the second time on this trip when we have got in line for Mickey and Minnie with only a 5 min. wait. We were pretty happy with that! We got in line and got all cameras ready so as not to miss out. We also failed to give the photopass photographers our card last time so we had that out too. It was our turn and Selah was so excited to see her friends again! She jumped up and down, squealed, held their hands and gave hugs and kisses on the nose. I took pictures, the photopass photographer took pictures, Jamie video. We finish with our visit and say goodbye. We walk out and Jamie turns to me and says, " I accidentally pushed the record button twice so it didn't record." I almost said, "get back in line we are doing this again". I was so frustrated but at least we got good pictures.
We decided to go check out the line for the jungle cruise. When we got over there the standby line was still pretty long but the fp line looked to be doable so we went to get in line. When we got over there a CM asked to see our fp and I showed them our GAC. They told us that we got to go in a different entrance and asked if we wanted to leave Selah in her stroller. I told them yes and we were taking straight to our boat! I had no idea we didn't have to wait in the fp line! We would have rode earlier. When we were riding it was dark so that was pretty cool but because we had been in the park all day long and done a lot of walking Wanda had decided to just go find a spot for the fireworks and rest. She missed the ride! She said she was fine with not riding but I did feel bad that she missed out. We were the first ones lead onto the boat and Selah got to stay in her stroller. This was very good because she was very much into her iPad and not caring at all about the ride. It was way too slow for her. I sat in the middle right in front of her stroller so she could see me. She did not want me out of her sight. The other guest in our boat were so nice to make sure that we were all able to sit with each other. Once they loaded everyone else they had asked Jamie and Asher to scoot all the way up. Asher ended up sitting on the middle right in front of me and the other guest just traded places with Jamie so he could sit close to us. Then when the ride started our captain was hilarious. Yes, it is the exact same script we have heard many times but her delivery of it was just so funny. She talked to Asher a lot and seemed to really like him. She asked him if he wanted to steer the boat and he told her no!?! She then asked another kid. I asked him later why he said no and he said that he thought she was kidding. I felt bad for him because I know he would have liked that but he was a very good sport about it and was telling the other kid to turn all sorts of directions along with the captain. The other kid didn't listen to either one of them though. After the ride we agreed that we are glad that we did that. It was such a different experience than we had ever had even though it was the same ride with the same script. They were so wonderful with Selah and with all of us.
Once off the ride we headed to the castle to find Wanda. She was waiting there for us with a spot. We found her quickly and asked her to keep the kids while we went to add the Jedi pictures to our photopass. Jamie and I quickly headed to the front of the park to take care of that. Once we got back it was just about time for the fireworks. This is what we saw.
After the fireworks we started making our way out of the park. We still had snack credits left and still wanted to pick up a few things for people so on the way out we stopped at the Confectionary to pick up a few goodies. I wanted a rice krispy treat. I love WDW rice krispy treats! Jamie got me one with M&M's. Jamie picked out a turker leg rice krispy treat for my dad. We got my niece lorelei a rice Krispy treat. Asher got an iced cookie and cotton candy. Jamie picked out a dipped pretzel and some nut clusters. Everyone was happy with what we picked out for them and it was so good. We then headed back to the room and when we got there we were greeted by…
I love all the character pictures, especially the one of Selah kissing Minnie on the nose! Asher and Selah both look so happy, and their shirts really add something to those photos too.
Glad you got to ride the Jungle Cruise but so sorry Wanda had to miss it. I have been wanting to ride the Jungle Cruise at night but have not so far. Sounds like you had a good captain. Too bad that Asher passed up on the chance to drive the boat but it sounds as if he had fun anyways.
