As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Wow you guys accomplished a lot before lunch! I just love the crowd level in Sept...now with Lexi in school it is going to be harder to make it during the lower crowd seasons without taking her out of school. Tough decisions!
The pictures with Lukas and Pooh are so sweet.
Us too with Dylan starting this fall. He does get a week off in early October though so I can still get F&WF and MNSSHP in!

First up, basement renovations. Still aren't 100% complete, but it's just minor things now.

We went to the zoo about a week ago and discovered Dole Whips!!

Now Dylan is playing soccer. In 2 games he's scored 7 goals so far! .
And yesterday we got over a foot of snow!
Mickey snowman - and this was all Dylan's idea!
And of course those that are following along in the General Trip Reporting section know I met Dawn, Linny & Melissa in AC a few weeks ago.
Tomorrow the boys start swimming lessons twice a week. The Junior Achievement group I helped with in the fall has made it to the next round of judging so we're meeting once a week to help prepare them. Getting busy around here!
And Dylan is going to WDW in less than 3 weeks with my in-laws. We finally told him Friday and he wasn't as excited as I thought he'd be. I'm sure that will change as it gets closer.
We had a 12:50pm lunch ADR at Sci-Fi, which has become a must do for us. I haven’t been to WDW with Mike and not eaten here. (This fall will be the first time we don’t eat there, but that’s only because we’re only going to MK for MNSSHP and not visiting any of the other parks.) I do remember waiting for everyone in the waiting area while they all went next door – which I was a bit peeved about as you can’t hear them in there when they call you to be seated. I think I must have gone to change Lukas’ diaper or something so they checked us in and then went in there to hang out. I ended up waiting for them to call us and then had to go find them. Dylan & Mike sat up front with Lukas & I behind them and my in-laws were the hitch-hikers in the back.
I don’t remember what I had to eat – probably a burger. But I did order the Space Invaders Margarita. Mmmmmm I could go for one of those right about now. It’s also tradition to get the boys lemonade here with the light up Buzz (or Lightning McQueen or whatever character).
After our bellies were full we were ready to hit some more rides! First up was Star Tours. I know Mike, Dylan & I went and I’m thinking MiL & FiL took Lukas.
I took this pic because I told Mike I could create this at home as I was not paying the Disney price for it.
We stopped in the Indiana Jones shop on the way to meet up with everyone else. Dylan was getting a little grumpy in there but a fake snake and some pin trading perked him up a bit.
When we all met back up Mike & FiL headed to ToT – still can’t convince Dylan to try it again after his first time on. While they went to the Twilight Zone we got a couple frozen lemonades and sat on a bench – it was HOT! We saw a bit of the parade from our bench on Hollywood Blvd.
Before heading back we did one more attraction – GMR. Dylan actually enjoyed it this time and may have even asked to do it.
And we stopped for a few PP pics too!
They're supposed to be doing Super Hero poses.
It was now time to head back to BWV and to the pool to cool off!! Yes - I went down the slide. And it really was fun!

Sounds like a great day at DHS. We love Sci Fi too, and considered skipping it next trip, but alas it can't be done. Luckily, we like DHS much more after our last trip, so I think we can fit both ADR's we want there in.
I am wondering what the flavor of that Margarita is. I love Margarita's but am not as keen on flavored ones.

I think it's a regular margarita with blue curacao and of course the glow cube makes it look that much better!

I did make the memory boxes with their hats. That's what you should do with Andre's.
I've only recently had the margarita and I'm pretty sure it will be a standard from now on - along with the burger. The spinach & artichoke dip is good there too.
