As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). AAAAAHHHHHH. 18 days!! This is the time where there really isn't anything left to do, so good for you for having it all done!! Eliminates alot of stress at the end. . . . . I'm so glad Rob is in acknowledgement of the March trip. Danny isn't excited about the 2011 trip, but I think he acknowledges it cuz I'm not letting it go. LOL. I love all you've done with your apt. Looks very bright and fresh - perfect for summer!
OMG, I can't believe how close it's getting! It seems like all the details are taken care of. Love the new paint - especially the peanut butter! And the new hairdo is cute, too. Can't wait to see the vacation box!

almost only 2 weeks now! 3 weeks from today would have been swimming with dolphins day! yayy!! i still have to put finishing touches on the place card holders, table numbers, and programs so i have an update or two up my sleeve! lol!

oh apartment is very cozy, earthtoned, and brown... lol-- so peanut butter works better here than it would in many other places. my mom said the same thing! i got a really cool plant today that actually matches my living room couches... so im pretty excited about that! lol-- its called bromelaid or something like that and it looks all pretty and tropical!

thanks on the paint-- it gets so pricey to paint that me and rob like sat on our bed and just looked at the walls for a while the next day! haha!

only 16 days to go now! woooohooo! dont worry about danny because you remember how rob was about our 2008 trip, right? he was hesitate up until like the day we left and thought we were being crazy going back-- guess what? it was his favorite trip yet! and danny will def have the most fun with baby there too! lol! thanks for the apartment compliments... ive been wanting to change some things for the longest time, and since weve been wedding saving didnt have the money-- but thanks to such great shower gifts, it took a lot of the fundage issues away from the equation!

thanks so much! the vacation box is officially within the confines of a suitcase, but really its the same idea-- stuffing all my vacation stuff in one lovely photogenic place! lol!

okay so AKL upgrade sounds great but ive always wanted to stay at POFQ so i also think that one will be so much fun for you! though, it might not end up being me and robs next destination, its the only moderate or value i still want to check out! plus you can always use the extra money on fun souvenirs!! im sure your trip will be extra special no matter where you end up staying!

I can't believe how close its flying now! Im getting butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it!!! ahhh!! so close! Annnd I seriously will look at our 2010 budget and vacation plans after we get back and fill you allll in!
I had a fab weekend with my girls! Me and my "maids" had a Spa & Sushi day Saturday... (I heart alliteration) and I got my first ever massage! Then yesterday, me and two of besties went down to Coney Island for the day! It was so much fun and once I get all their pics I am going to give you a Bachelorette update. I am very white bread so don't worry, its totally PG/PG13ish. That being said, today I am going to update on the Honeymoon! I am in the last few Pre-Wedding updates now. I have only a couple more things I want to share and post before the big day now! ahhhh!!! Soooo close!!!
In any case, it's THAT time again!!!!
Because I am usually only focused on the vacation planning I usually reach this stage much much much sooner so there was no need for an actual vacation "box" this year and I just started putting our honeymoon stuff in our suitcases.
Last week I also went shopping! I got some GREAT stuff and only spent like $100! I went to American Eagle, Charlotte Russe, and Target! Got some great deals! And even a Disney shirt!!!
I loooove my new stuff! And might actually wear the white sweater to the rehearsal. Not sure yet.
In any case, on top of all the great stuff I have to pack I ALSO got my package from our fab TA, Suzy, today!!!!!!
Sorry this pic is less clear, I took it with my phone! Suzy sent us a great little care package (as always)! We got a little drawstring MouseFan/MEI travel bag, a John Coltrane CD (to help "set the honeymoon mood", and a great carrier for all of our honeymoon documents that came with lots of goodies! LOL-- check out my mickey mug sneaking into the top right corner of the pic! haha!
Okay, and for everyone on FB who knew I was working on this, here are some pics of the Maxi dress I didn't like the way that fit me that I turned into a skirt! And I am keeping the top, cutting it straight, and bringing it with me for a little bathing suit coverup shirt! I figure if I dont wear it I can chuck it and if I do like it I can sew a hem along the bottom nice and neat!

I always pack books for the plane JUST in case. Not that we have ever had a problem with Jet Blue. Plus I always wake up a clean hour or so before Rob so I like to get up and read. Rob reads on the beach too... though there is so much to do at our resort I doubt the books will ever leave the carryon.
Well, I'm coming very late to this party, but I'm so glad I came! Congratulations, Melissa! Everything sounds so wonderful. You are going to have an absolutely beautiful wedding. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it & most of the honeymoon!
