It’s Always Sunny in California!..Eh?...L’il Bit! - Page 33 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I adjusted my poncho so that I could stay as covered as much as possible …… Here we go!
You can kind of see it is raining once again here too.
I think this is the big hill….but it doesn’t look that big from my picture….but we’ll pretend it is, even it if isn’t!
So we screech and laugh and holler as we go down the hill. It was great and I didn’t get wet…and I turned around to tell Cass “That wasn’t bad at all!” and as I am saying this, Cass is watching a wall of water come right at me…and bam it all landed in my lap! She started laughing so hard…and so did I, plus a little bit of complaining along with the laughing.
As you can see from my picture, the camera has some water on the lens, which I never noticed for a long time.
Holy cow, I had a nice wet leg, and my back pack was pretty wet too. Luckily my shoes were not too bad…as I hate wet shoes!
We got off and took our redneck photo!
I look just as “cool” as I do in every ride photo.
I took a picture of my leg…now it really doesn’t look that bad, but where it was wet, it was soaking wet…and my rear end was pretty wet too.
I think we did some shopping/browsing. Cass might have been on a phone call then too. ….I can’t remember for sure. It seems like I was looking for something in there, but whatever it was, I didn’t find it.
I also took pictures of the area…VERY cute!
Yes, I know some of these pictures have water spots on them
And since we were in the area, we also rode Pooh.
I believe it was pretty much the same as WDW’s version.
A few more pictures of the area as we moved on.
I spotted some work being done.
Next stop!
Haunted Mansion!
Again, it is a fun ride and a little different than WDW’s version. I like them both equally!
I think we next went to see if we could get on the Storybook Land Canal boats.
Once again the darn thing was closed.
So we decided to get in line for Casey Jr. Circus Train.

Great wet fun day. Did I read right that you were using the P&S camera? Know that you were glad not to have had the DSLR in the flood at the end of the Splash. Is the Splash ride all in the open?
Oh that is too funny that you nearly made it through the whole thing dry...
I know. I just wish I could rewatch the whole thing as a 3rd party. I am sure it was so comical.

I know.....I turned around at the perfect time to give Cass a good laugh.
I think I had put the camera under my poncho, so that saved it some.

Yes. p & s that day. My darn bag got soaked though and it sucked carrying it on my back and it kept bumping me and gettting me wet again. I had to go through and throw out stuff like tissues. I had business cards in there too that had seen better days.
It goes inside too. It is differently set up though than the WDW one.

The line for Casey wasn’t that long, but it’s a slow loader, so it was longer than we thought it would be. I heard a lady telling her girls that maybe they would look for Anna and Elsa after this and pop in on them. I pointed her to the direction of where they were and let her in on a secret….the lines are very long! She seemed surprised by that and hopefully her wait wasn’t, but I doubt it.
A few pictures while we waited.
Now Casey’s train is more for little ones and Cass and I scoped out some seats on the train we wanted to get. But of course, kids and others went to those too. I can’t remember what we got, but it wasn’t the ideal ones we wanted. Also this ride is not what you would call exciting, but it did give us a view of the stuff we would’ve seen had we been able to ever ride the Storybook Canal boats and I tried to get some pictures of them……but I had the point and shoot with me and most turned out kind of blurry.
And a view of the castle from here…wish it came out sharper.
I am currently reading the latest book about the Kingdom Keepers. (Actually I have been reading it for some time, but I just don’t have much time to sit and read these days) and it takes place in Disneyland. They had a part about the miniature’s in it and of course after I read that part I had to go and look over my pictures. I am really glad I had gone to DL before reading it as I can place so many things now as I read the book.
With the ride done, we were now running slightly late for our lunch ADR so we rushed over there to check in!
Cass got in line to check us in and I took pictures.
Looks like some work is going on.
And where is lunch today?
Cass pointed out something I did not notice.
So that’s where it is! Right next to the Blue Bayou entrance.
And that would be where it is.
We got checked in and had to go and wait inside for a few minutes before being called.
Soon we were called and seated, pretty much in the middle of the restaurant, so we didn’t get one of the neat tables on the edge overlooking Pirates.
We made our orders. I think we got just about the same thing today, but I believe Cass got a salad, while I went for the Cup of the Signature New Orleans Gumbo.(or was it Jambalaya? Not sure, I mix those up)
It was yummy!
We also had some rolls.
We both had the Slow-Roasted Beef Strip Loin - Over Rock Salt and Carved to Order. Crispy Shoestring Onions, Blue Bayou Au Gratin Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables and Armagnac Green Peppercorn Sauce.
It was very good and very similar to what we had at Steakhouse 55 the night before. We only wished we could’ve gotten the same potatoes as we did the night before. Don’t get me wrong, these were good, but last nights was just awesome!
I think we were both just too full for dessert today, so we skipped that option and paid our bills and went off on our merry way.
I believe this is when we went to go get FP’s for Space Mountain. I just want to say once again that DL’s version is superior to WDW’s version.
I think this is when this happened, but it might have been later at our return time….but I’ll write about it now………..
When you go to Space Mountain, you have to go up a ramp. It was wet because of it raining off and on all day. I noticed other people slipping and tried not to laugh. Well God punished me…because as we were walking, my foot slipped and I just about did the splits, but I caught myself and I didn’t go down too far, but of course you feel like a big idiot. I think I shouted OMG!!! And Cass turned and looked at me and had about 1.5 seconds of concern on her face before she busted out laughing. I am so glad I could provide her with some extra entertainment! LOL. She said that if that was her going down, she doesn’t think the words being shouted would’ve have been so nice. And honestly, I am surprised I didn’t let slip out a naughty word or 2 when it was happening as well.
We had time to waste, so we went over to the Innoventions building. Another thing I did not realize that DL had.
I believe this was the view we had as we walked up the ramp to get in.
They had an Iron Man exhibit and I don’t think it was open yet, but I believe they are doing the same thing that the Disney Magic does now, with some sort of interactive thing.
I took a lot of pictures in here, but because it was my point and shoot, a lot are blurry.
They had a thing that took your picture and did the future story, just like on Spaceship Earth. I posted a pic on facebook and so many people asked me where I was as they all thought I was at DL…which I was…and thought perhaps I flew to WDW that day. LOL.
Downstairs they had the Dream Home, but we didn’t think it was much of a Dream to us.
I am not sure what this area was.
After we looked around and played a bit we headed back outside towards Space again.
