We Turned Her Into A Disney Lovin', Character Huggin', Thrill Ridin' Girl! COMPLETED 7/11 - Page 32 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hi everyone! I'm back (hopefully) and I am going to attempt to finish this TR. I have missed being on passporter and writing our TR. It has been a crazy month and I the craziness will probably not be stopping until school starts again next year but I will get this done. It may just be shorter posts. I am going to get the next post up sometime today. That is my goal. Thank you all for sticking with me and being so patient.
Thanks everyone! It is normal busyness. My computer is still not fixed so we have been all still sharing one computer. Jamie just got a new computer yesterday so while he is at work I am on his typing this up. My computer will get fixed next month. School is winding down for both Selah and Asher. With school winding down for Asher I have been busy getting things organized to close out the school year and preparing for next school year for him. With Selah's school year coming to an end comes meetings. All meetings are now done and we are happy with the plans for next year. She has also had some field trips the past couple of weeks that Asher and I have gone on with her. Last week was a Special Olympics Fun day with bounce houses. The kids all had a great time. This week her class went to the aquarium. We have taken Selah to the aquarium several times and it has never been a successful trip. I went prepared with her lease, stroller, snacks and iPad. The only things we had to use was the stroller and some pretzels! She loved the aquarium this time. She didn't even have to stay in her stroller the whole time. I really think this has to do with our trip to WDW. I was amazed at how well she did! If I can figure out how to post pictures from my phone, I will post a couple.
More Rides, Selah gets Impatient and the Boys Get Locked Up MK Part 2 ⅔
Thank you all for sticking with me after such a long break from our TR. I will try really hard to not do that again. Now on to our story.
After we finished on the Teacups and Jamie had his picture made with Ariel we got in line to see Pooh and his friends in the 100 Acre Wood. We didn't have a long wait before we were in our honey pots and on our way. We had all talked about wanting to try to take a picture on the ride in front of the mirrors so we could get a picture of all of us. Well, we tried and it just didn't work. You don't realize how fast those honey pots are moving until you try to get a picture in the mirrors and it doesn't work because you have forgot to turn the flash off for the first one and then by the time you take the second one there are no more mirrors. Oh well. We did try.
Next up we headed to Cinderellas Golden Carousel and on the way took some more pictures.
When we got to the Carousel the line was pretty long so we went to the exit to use Selahs GAC. We ended up waiting there longer than Selah wanted and by the time we got on the ride she was in melt down mode. I knew that as soon as the ride started she would be happy again but they really needed to get that ride started soon.
Sure enough, once the ride started she was happy again. She just didn't understand why we were not getting on a horse and once we finally did, why it was not moving. We were just all happy when the ride started and the melt down stopped.
After the carousel it was time for a Scary Adventure with Snow White. We are going to miss this ride but we are excited about all the new stuff opening. Selah was needing a little snack so on our adventure she has some pretzels.
After Snow White we headed to NeverLand with Peter Pan and then it was time for some lunch. We couldn't decide what we wanted to eat. We checked out Pinocchio Village Haus but nothing was looking good on that menu at that moment. Next we checked to see if El Pirata Y el Perico was open but we were out of luck there. Next stop was Pecos Bill and at this point I was good with what ever as long as everyone else was happy with it. Jamie was really wanting something different. Then we remembered that there was a counter service we had never tried before. What was the name of that? We looked at a map and thought it was Liberty Tree or Plaza so we headed to Plaza. By the time we got over there Selah was getting fussy and was ready to eat. We saw that it was not the place we were thinking of but now we just needed to go eat anywhere because Selah was headed in the direction of not happy. We decided to just go to Cosmic Rays. Lots of choices and we all love it. Later, we remembered it was Columbia Harbour House we were wanting to try. It is now on our list for next time.
After a yummy lunch we headed to LIberty Square to see some Presidents. On our way we saw a cart selling parasol's so we HAD to stop and get one for Selah. We picked the design we wanted and they said it would take about an hour. That was perfect! That would give us time to do the things in Liberty Square we were wanting to do and then we could pick it up on our way out! (face) Parasol ordered, we went to see the Presidents. We knew that Selah would not sit through that so I told Wanda to go in with Asher and Jamie since I have seen it and she has not. This also gave Selah and I some girl time. We like girl time. For our girl time we relaxed and checked out the scenery.
When they finished with the Presidents Selah and I showed them some of the things we saw. Asher read all of the plaques and then the boys wanted a picture together.
Up Next: A Scary Ride, A Thrill Ride and Snack Time! MK Part 3 2/3
Sorry about the crazy large pictures. I have resized them in photobucket but for whatever reason it is not carrying over to my TR. I don't know what the problem is but I will try to have it figured out by the next post. I just didn't want to prolong this one any more.
