Everything is Subject to Change Updated 7/6 - Page 31 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hey, I know that cop!! He is one of the excellent characters from the Adventurer's Club.
This was from the Dec 2007 PP meet at the Adventurer's Club. There are a few of us that remember the "trouble" Steve and Mark got into with the character above and this one:
What a great morning at DHS and a ride on the new Star Tours to start off the day. I am actually excited to try it...it has never been my favorite, for some reason I always came out with a headache, but I was talking to a CM on the phone the other day who said I must try it again.
Glad that you decided to enjoy and start back on the diet whe you got home...WDW i definitely a place where you will get your exercise and honestly I could not stick to a diet there either...too much yummy food to eat. Plus...you and Brandon look great!!!
You should definitely try it again--I found it much smoother! Thanks! We think we're looking much better!

It isn't well marked and for some reason that morning the water feature was turned off--which helped with the picture taking!

We had a little bit of time to kill before the first showing of Beauty and the Beast so we walked through One Man's Dream--which I think is a great over looked attraction. I only took a couple of pictures:
I miss the Dream Finder--the roommies do not love me when I watch the original on YouTube--apparently they find the song a bit annoying!
I can't remember why I took this one??
We walked over to the Theater on Sunset and got to see Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage for the first time. Brandon went to fetch sodas while we waited for it to start---it was pretty hot out.
We both really enjoyed this show and it is definitely something I'll do again, but probably not in June. It was a little bit warm what with the mass of humanity and all. There are some fans, but I don't think they make a huge difference.
As soon as the show ended we high tailed it to the Hollywood Brown Derby. I actually pushed our reservation back by 15 minutes after I checked Steve Soares times site the day before. I wanted to make sure we got to see an early show.
We ordered wine and cocktails and chowed down on bread with pink sea salt. I believe I had a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and Brandon had a Sapphire Martini. I also believe I might have had two glasses!
We strayed from the norm here. Usually at the HBD we order a bunch of appetizers and a Cobb Salad. This time one of the entrees sounded particularly appealing.
We ordered the Cobb Salad! Of Course it was wonderful as always. I really enjoy that they toss it at the table.
We also shared the Duck Two Ways: Poached Duck Magret wrapped in Swiss Chard, Mushroom Vegetable Couscous, and a crispy Leg Confit Spring Roll with spicy Onion Jam
The Duck was perfectly cooked and we were very impressed with the portion size! It was more than enough for both of us. There were two spring rolls on the plate and two large slices of duck and the couscous. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. Total with the Tables in Wonderland discount was about $75. It was a great meal and we really enjoyed ourselves. Service was a little slow, but I noticed that our waitress had a VERY demanding table of 2 right behind us, so I cut her some slack--I certainly know how that goes!
We decided to grab a cab from DHS to DTD, this allowed us to ride Star Tours, using the FP we picked up earlier. We bought movie tickets for the next showing of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and headed over to House of Blues to have a drink. Brandon had a beer and I had a mojito--the bartender was a little weird--even for HOB standards. My ex is a HOB bartender so I have met my fair share of them. This one had consumed WAY too much of the Kool Aid.
We enjoyed the nice air conditioned break at the movies and both really liked the movie. I've been to see it again since! Did you know that the movie, with advertising, cost 400 million to make? It has grossed over 850 million at this point and is still in the theatres! Disney is considering greenlighting two more Pirates movies. We didn't take a nap on this day--we did a little browsing and then headed to the bus stop to catch a bus to the Boardwalk for our next meal.
Up Next: Kouzzina gets a second chance . . . does it get on the must return list?

Sounds great so far. I'm so hungry now reading all your great food descriptions. I feel you on the lack of seasonings. Sometimes I think we are spoiled being from Louisiana because we grow up seasoning food and not all of the US does that. My worst was mashed potatoes with no salt. You cannot add enough salt afterwards. Keep the reviews coming. Glad ya'll had so much fun!
This update contains two of my very favorite things anywhere: One Man's Dream and Brown Derby! I also enjoyed the photos of Beauty & the Beast. I think it's time to see that one again.

"WAY" too much of the Kool Aid. Yeah, I've met a few people like that!
I can't believe PoC cost that much! I am shocked! I read yesterday Green Lantern cost $300 million and I'm not sure that it's going to make a profit. Caught the trailer Tuesday when I went to see LOTR: The Fellowship of the Rings and it doesn't look good AT ALL!
That HBD cobb salad looks abosulutely Amazing!! I have been wanting one of those for THE longest time. I may just have to re-work my dining plans to fit that in. (and check the Kid's menu too...that plays a lot into our decisions).
I really want to see PoC in the theater! Maybe I can drag my DH out one day next week
Your Brown Derby lunch looked really good. I had my first taste of duck with you and Brandon, so it was easy to picture myself sharing the meal with you.
