As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I love Boma , but have not been there for a while,,, But Tusker House can run a close 2nd and I seem to get there more often. How nice they brought your Mom out dessert for your parents Anniversary. Did Dad get any of the treats?
Nice photos on SM. Isaiah sure did inherit the sweet tooth... But I seem to recall that Grandma might have something to do with that when he was still strollerbound and she would stay with him and eats sweets while the rest of you did the attractions

Another great update! Love, Love, Love the picture of Isaiah with Tiana!!! He just reminds me so much of my youngest DS with his excitement and enthusiasm about even the littlest things (like the ice cream!). BTW, between yours and Cam22 photopass pics, I think I've just been convinced that we MUST get Photopass+ for our upcoming trip...

I always get so stuffed at Boma, there are always so many wonderful things to try...so hard to resist. Love the pictures with Tiana, the one with Isaiah hugging her just adorable but I can't get over how big he is getting, he just looks so grown...turning into such the little man.
The HM is always a favorite for us, sounds like a wonderful first ride of the trip for the boys.
Nice update, glad the rain didn't hold you back at all. I love that the princes are starting to come back. You had Naveen and just read Cam's TR with Prince Eric. Perhaps Disney realize that guests like the princes too. Or maybe they just didn't have CM to fill the roles.
PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
I don't know. I felt so stupid doing this. Because I kept losing my place and having to start over again. It's not because I'm getting dumber, though. Just because I would start to think about something else and forget what I was up to.

I saw him when he was around right after the movie came out, but lately it's only been Tiana. I was glad to see her Prince again!

Never made it back for the tartine during our stay, but funny thing is that I did make it back for another salted carmel.
The scrolls checking in at POR must be new, we didn't get one in May
OK, off to read more now.............carry on
How is it that I had both the salted caramel and the tartine and yet I'm still jealous of your 2 salted caramels?

The boys really started getting into making funny faces for the ride photos, but there were always plenty of smiles.

DM always shared with DF! I was proud of her! And Isaiah's sweet tooth is nothing compared to Noah's! Noah got so much there was nothing left for Daniel, I think!

Isaiah LOVED Tiana. He kept asking for her for a few days after that!

He definitely gets excited, and it's so cute to watch. I'm glad, too, because I think the older boys are willing to meet the characters because they enjoy watching Isaiah get so excited!

I can't believe how fast he's growing up! And he's getting so big!

I hate that the princes are only around for a little while after the movie comes out and then after that only at MNSSHP or MVMCP.

We had plenty of good meals. After each one, someone would always declare it to be the best.

Day Three – Monday, August 27 Weather mojo in overdrive! And the best meal of the trip so far!
I let everyone sleep in this morning. It had been a long day yesterday, and we were going to Epcot, so maximizing ride opportunities wasn’t that much of an issue. As long as we got to Soarin’, everything else would take care of itself.
It was supposed to be a rainy day, thanks to Hurricane Isaac. That actually would work in our favor, because there was plenty to do inside at Epcot. I woke up late, around 7:30, and checked in on the boards. I let Daniel sleep until my tummy started complaining, then I woke him up and we went over and had breakfast with the others.
Once everyone was ready, we got our ponchos and umbrellas and headed for the bus stop. It was barely raining by the time we got to Epcot. Spaceship Earth had a short line, but we decided it wouldn’t be bad waiting. I had a fun geeky moment, pointing out to my family that although it was raining and we were standing under the ball, water wasn’t pouring down on us from it because of Imagineering genius.
I sat with Isaiah this time and slouched down to avoid chunks being missing from my head. I don’t know if that strategy works, because our photos weren’t taken. Isaiah and I were both cartoon characters. I must say, that little video is a whole lot less interesting when your face isn’t in it.
Next we went to Innoventions (I always forget which one is East and which is West ) so the boys could try out Sum of All Thrills. I knew they’d enjoy it because they love thrill rides and they always complain about the lack of thrills in Epcot (for them anyway – personally I find walking around World Showcase pretty thrilling ).
Isaiah and I went together, and he’s too short to go upside down, so we built the most extreme coaster we could without going upside down. Isaiah had fun with it and especially loved picking out the extreme elements (including a 450+ foot tall hill ). We gave it a cool name (that I don’t remember any more). It was a lot of fun to ride, and Noah and Daniel had fun too (putting in multiple loops).
They liked it a lot and wanted to go again, but the line was kind of long so we agreed to try again later. I think the rain contributed to the line, because the park wasn’t really crowded at all that day.
When we came out of Innoventions, it had stopped raining, and it pretty much stayed dry for the rest of the day. Of course, now we had a bunch of ponchos and junk to carry around with us for the rest of the day, but it beats a total washout of a day – I hate walking through puddles, so this is only a minor quibble.
Everyone was ready for lunch at this point, so we walked over to Sunshine Seasons, where there was enough variety to satisfy everyone. I decided on the sweet and sour chicken.
It was good! A few CMs noticed my parents’ anniversary buttons and sang them a little anniversary song.
After lunch, we went on Soarin’. I’d been texting back and forth with Stacey (sc507) hoping we’d get to meet up as we were in the same park, but we were never in the same place at the same time! Her family had FPs for Soarin’, so I suggested we ride LWTL, hoping to keep my family around long enough for a quick meet, but while we were on LWTL, Stacey and her crew went on Soarin’! I couldn’t delay my crew any longer, so we had to move on. Unfortunately, I never got another opportunity to meet up with Stacey. Maybe another time!
The boys wanted to ride Mission Space. Let me correct that – Isaiah and Daniel wanted to ride Mission Space. Before riding, we took a walk through Mouse Gear, where Isaiah talked someone into buying him a pirate gun (that’s somehow different than the other pirate gun he has at home ).
MS makes Noah (and DM and DSIL) sick, so he opted out. DF usually enjoys it, but he decided not to ride (I think he was too full still from lunch). I can take or leave it, but DB decided to take the boys, so I sat out.
We went inside to wait for the boys to complete their mission. I heard a CM announcing that they needed one more player for the game (I have no idea what the name of the game is), so I volunteered. It turned out to be fun, but a little frustrating because some people (especially little kids) slow you down. We lost, but it was fun and I’d play again.
After that, we were ready to head to WS. The boys were disappointed to not get to ride Test Track, but I think they’ll love the new plussed version when we go next year. I had an idea to trick the boys into drinking Beverly (they always forget), so I suggested we go into Club Cool.
This was a lot of fun. I was able to trick all three boys. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get great pictures of their yuck faces.
Noah had the best reaction, though. He acted like it was the nastiest thing he’d ever tasted. We were all hysterical. The best face award actually went to DB Ed! I didn’t have my camera ready, though, so I missed that one too! I really did a poor job capturing stuff with my camera this time.
When we finished at Club Cool, we stopped in front of the fountain for a few Photopass pictures.
Then we went to WS. We wanted to meet a few characters, so we headed right. Tigger and Piglet were in the U.K. so we went to meet them (Isaiah hadn’t met Piglet before!). We had to wait behind a couple of families and then it was our turn. Isi was excited to meet them as always.
Piglet and Tigger both loved Isaiah, and when we were done, they happened to be going on a break. They left with us and Isaiah just figured they were going to hang out with us now. Tigger and Piglet had to say goodbye again. It was pretty cute.
We stopped for another Photopass picture in France.
While we were in France, some FABs were consumed. Unfortunately, not be me, so it was just boring old wine and/or beer. I’m thinking DM and I will enjoy Grand Marnier slushes on our next trip in a couple of weeks!
Then we moved on to Japan. Everyone was kind of hungry already, so I offered to see if we could be seated a little early (about 45 minutes early) for our ADR. The CM assured me that we could be seated within 15 minutes, so I went down to the shop where the rest of the group was and let everyone know. Isaiah attached himself to me and begged for a samurai sword, so I ended up getting him one (weapon #2 ) before dinner.
Then we checked in and were seated immediately. Not bad for a party of 8! Of course it was still fairly early at this point – maybe 5:15. Anyway, the boys were a little nervous about Japanese food (probably thinking I was going to make them eat raw fish ), but I knew they’d love it. They all love meat and they all like rice, so I knew they could eat that and not starve at least.
I figured they’d enjoy the food, but I knew they’d love the show. The meal turned out to be even a bigger hit than I’d imagined! Everyone had a great time and everyone loved their food. I forget now what everyone had, but I think the chef was blushing the way everyone was raving about how good the food was. Isaiah told him, “This is delicious!”
Speaking of the chef, he was great. He did the usual tricks and entertained us well.
Daniel being uncooperative when a camera is pointed at him
During dinner, a kid came up to Isaiah to ask where he’d gotten his samurai sword! I told the kid where to find it in the shop downstairs. A few minutes later the kid came back to ask how much it cost!
Noah declared this was the best meal he’s ever had and even changed his mind about onions – he wouldn’t touch them before, now he likes them. After paying (with the dining plan), we left the restaurant.
We casually walked out, going the way we came to save my DF a bit of walking. We stopped for a bit in Morocco for bathroom breaks for some and the kid who’d asked about the samurai sword in Teppan Edo came running up and demonstrated his awesome moves with his brand new sword! It was a fun moment! At this point, Isi was playing with the pirate gun, but he quickly put that down and grabbed his sword to show off his moves. His moves need a little work.
We moved on and got to France before we realized that Isaiah didn’t have his gun anymore. We ran back to Morocco, but it wasn’t there. A nice guest saw us searching and said he’d turned it in to a CM inside the restaurant. I went in to retrieve it and the CM there pointed it at me and said, “Hands up!” It was cute. And Isi was happy to get his toy back.
On the way out of the park, we decided to take another ride on Spaceship Earth. I went with Daniel this time. Daniel hates having his picture taken (you have to practically beg him) but he does love ride photos. Anyway, he decided that he’d make it look like he was pointing and laughing at me (I love that kid! ). But I’m happy to report that I didn’t have chunks missing out of my head this time! I suspect this is because I had on a hat and I am pretty sure this is why I usually have issues – the software has a hard time finding the edges of my head with my very dark hair. I’ve attached our video in case anyone is interested.
Click the photo to see the video
We walked out to find a bus pulling away from the stop as we approached, so I figured it would be a long wait for the next one, but happily one arrived within 5 minutes. We stopped again in the gift shop. Daniel wanted a hoody, but he couldn’t seem to find one he liked (there was one he liked the design, but we think it was a girl’s jacket based on the cut).
After going to our rooms and dropping off our stuff, a few of us changed into swimsuits and hit the pool and/or hot tub. DM went and got the boys some snacks and drinks, which they happily gobbled. Then we went back upstairs where we hung out some and then everyone turned in early. Daniel asked to watch television again, but this time I was smart and put on the sleep timer so I wouldn’t have to wake up later.
Up Next: Six drops

Love Daniel's expression & how you aren't looking at each other in the video
You're making think about making a reservation in Japan for me next trip.
So nice of the CM's to sing to your parents but what is the girl holding on to ???

Fun times in Epcot. I love how you changed nephews for every ride! They're all great kids. Isaiah cracks me up-- seems impossible to get a photo of him when he's not jumping out of his skin with happy excitement. He reminds me of Animal with happiness instead of the wild rage!
Glad your good weather mojo held up and Isaac decided to merely brush the Epcot area.
You made awesome use of your day Epcot...I love the pictures of your trio of nephews...they have that infectious family smile... (especially when they really decide to cooperate and smile!)
