Maybe I Will Get It Right This Time- The Third Time's The Charm TR Updated 11/2 with Playhouse Disney Play 'n Dine Breakfast - Page 30 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Loved the pictures of your room, It does look like a very inviting resort. Sorry about the issues with Garden Grocer. Can't wait to hear all about dinner.

Sorry about your awful experience with Garden Grocer. We used them for the first time last year and everything was fine. However, our travel mates also used them and had a disappointing experience. Hmm... not sure I'll use them this time around.
Can't wait to hear about your signature dinner!
Thanks. Garden Grocer is great for most people, I don't know why I don't have any luck with them. I will definitely be looking for an alternative on our next trip.

Sorry to hear about your trouble with Garden Grocer. We have started renting a car one way from the airport to DW. It's about $30 for a small/compact. My husband will take the car and our grocery list and get everything. Then DD and I will hop on ME and head to the hotel with our carryons. If we have a lot DH will even take some of that. DD and I get checked in and we don't have to worry about luggage or anything! We drop the car off at Swan/Dolphin and then usually make Epcot our first park! It works well for us so thought I would offer it as a suggestion.
Please hurry back with more of your trip
You should definitely give COP a try. Great idea about renting the car for a shopping trip. I'll have to keep that in mind next time.

Sorry GG has been such a mess for you. I was thinking of using them in Dec, but don't know if it would be easier to just bring all the stuff we need since we are driving and just stop and get milk.
You will love AKL. If I were driving, I would probably just bring all the stuff I need instead of ordering it.

I'm doing fine - thanks for asking. Lukas was born last Tuesday-came 2 days before he was scheduled.
Kelly, I would love to stay club level one day. Congratulations! Lukas is beautiful.

The Wii cart was there for a few hours most days. Believe it or not, there really wasn't a line for it.

Thank you. The resort is very inviting. That is a great description.
I am so sorry I haven't updated my TR in so long. Work has been so crazy lately since some of the cases I'm working on have a Statute of Limitations that is quickly approaching. I've really missed you all and these boards.
Anyway, where were we? I believe we were just getting out our cab at BWI. We had a little time to spare before our ADR at Flying Fish Cafe, therefore we decided to check out the resort lobby and such.
I have to say, this resort is pretty and everyone is friendly and helpful. I think we will definitely be staying here in the near future.

As we walked to our table, I immediately noticed that the restaurant was beautiful, yet the atmosphere was relaxed. It wasn't at all stuffy as I'd imagined it. I felt like I could breathe a little bit easier now since I knew the boys would be just fine here. Just in case of an emergency, I still did have my Mary Poppins bag of tricks to keep the boys entertained.
Once at our table, our waiter came over to greet us and to give us our special keepsake anniversary menus.
After taking our drink order, the waiter brought bread to our table.
I'm not sure what kind of bread this was, but it was delicious. I didn't want to eat too much of it though since we'd be getting an appetizer with this meal also.
I knew what I was getting months before our trip and here is what I got:
Our Signature Flying Fish Cafe "Crispy Maine Coast Jonah Crab Cake" - Savory Vegetable Slaw, Roasted Red Pepper Coulis, and Ancho Chile Rémoulade
I knew what else I wanted to try and I was able to convince DH to order it
Fresh Mozzarella di Bufala, "Ugli Ripe" Beefsteak and Tiny Florida Grape Tomatoes - Balsamic Glaze, Exotic Peppercorns, Petite Basil, and Sicilian Olio Verde
Both were truly delicious. Those were the best crab cakes I ever had, but since I'm not really into seafood I think I preferred William's appetizer and would get that next time.

The boys both ordered the same thing: Bowl of Mickey Pasta - with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese
It was nice for them to order something different than what they usually eat on vacation. They both enjoyed it.
Once again, I knew what I wanted way before we got there. I ordered
Our Signature Flying Fish Café "Char-crusted Certified Black Angus New York Strip Steak" - Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Root Vegetables, and Pole Beans, with Classic Sauce Foyot
I almost changed my mind and ordered something else at the last minute, but boy am I glad I didn't. This was amazing.
DH ordered
Our Signature Flying Fish Café "Potato-wrapped Red Snapper" - Leek Fondue with a Veal Glace, Red Wine, and Cassis Butter
I tried it, but it was just okay. DH loved it however. To be fair, I am not a seafood lover at all.
Overall, dinner was amazing. FF is our second favorite restaurant "in the world". (Stay tuned to see what our favorite WDW restaurant is).
The food was great and the service was unbelievable. I really do wish I could remember our waiters name because he was easily the best one we've ever had anywhere. He went out of his way to make my boys feel special too and that means everything to us mommies.
For those of you worried about bringing kids to FF, all I have to say is bring them. The boys behaved wonderfully (we kept telling them what a nice restaurant they were going to have dinner at all day and how they had to be on their best behavior.) I don't mean to brag, but they were angels. They played with some of the books and stickers I had for them, but they mostly just enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. I was so proud of them.
Up Next: I will post about dessert and the rest of our night tomorrow. I have to go get the boys ready for bed.
