As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: 2 Dental Diva’s and family go to WDW
An afternoon of Swimming plus an alligator sighting
On the way out of WS we saw the character bus and Jameson had seen any of them yet so we stopped. He really wanted to see Mickey so we hopped in that line and were the very last ones let in his area before the closed it off and he had to leave. We only got to take pictures, they were not allowing any to get autographs in order to move the line along. Minnie was tapping her foot while waiting for her boyfriend Mickey! He was taking too long for her liking
Oh and I forgot to tell you a little Jameson gem that he said to me while we were in the bathroom in the Rose & Crown. While we were eating Jameson says he has to go potty so we race to the bathroom. We went into the big stall and I decide that I should go as well. He finishes and it’s my turn as I am going he yells “ You don’t have a pee pee” “uh no I don’t but be quiet!” I say. Jameson then says “ I have one and so does my Dad. His is big and brown” I could hear all the other stalls laughing and giggling as I am telling him to shush up! I am dying with laughter myself and tell everyone at the table what he just said. I thought Siobhan was going to choke on her potatoes. Jim laughed and I think a little proud as well .
We slowly made our way back to the entrance and along the way got 3 fast passes for tonight for Test Track. Good thing we checked to see the return time because it was for 6:45 and it was only 2:45
The food and wine festival sign at the entrance
It was only a five minute wait for the bus but Jim decided to get a drink at the vending machines way down the walk. He was taking his time when our bus came so I called him and said “get your rear in gear buddy” Jameson was so worried that Daddy wasn’t going to make it, but he did by the skin of his teeth. Jameson decided that he needed to sit by himself on the bus so we let him. Only 2 other people were on with us so we all had our seats
Mister J sittin by himself
Pam is cold all the time but not cold enough to put on the sweater
Once back to the room we changed and went swimming! What a great pool Jameson loved sitting on the steps by the waterfall playing with his car in the water. On a side note the quiet pools were freezing so thankfully the big pool wasn’t. after an hour or so I wanted to go back to the room to get ready for our dinner. I left before everyone else and along the way saw a guy taking a picture of something in the water by the big bridge. Not wanting to look un-cool by going up to the guy and looking in the water, I casually walked a bit past him and when he left I booked it over to see what the heck he was looking at. Well it was a good size gator! Just hanging out and waiting for something to swim by I guess. I took a picture and saw people do the same thing I did, waiting until I left to see what I was doing!

Coming up: Dinner in Italy and a night in PI.

Re: 2 Dental Diva’s and family go to WDW
Dinner in Italy and a night in PI
When the rest of the gang came back from swimming Jim had decided that he didn’t feel like going back to Epcot so he and Jameson would hang out at the hotel. Didn’t take me long to do to the happy dance and be out the door with Pam and Siobhan. It was a girls night!
We were very lucky this trip to always catching the bus just as it was pulling up and this was no different. Once in Epcot it was time for our ride on TT. It was great and we were going to act like goobers (picking our nose, buck teeth etc) for the picture but didn’t buy it because it didn’t come out too good. Jim called right after we got off and asked if I would buy Jameson a new test track car. The one we bought earlier broke (the wheels fell off) and Jameson was upset about it.
World Showcase was mobbed as usual. Why is it always pitch black around the showcase? We had to book it over to Italy to make our ADR’s and managed to get there in time. As we walked up to the entrance a huge line was forming just outside at a little kiosk and I guess they were taking names there for dinner. I was a little confused as there was no computer there so I walked into the lobby and no one was in there! We got seated right away and I am still confused why no one was going into the restaurant!?!?!
Ladies if you are going to WDW soon get over to Italy and eat there ASAP! The waiters are gorgeous OH MY were we glad that the guys stayed home tonight! I felt a little like Scarlett O’Hara fanning myself saying “fiddle dee dee” Once we were done gawking at the guys we placed our order and I swear 3 minutes went by and we were served our food! The bread had not even come yet. I guess it was because we ordered to most common things on the menu, 2 Fettuccini’s and a Cesar salad. This was Siobhan’s first time eating here and loved the fettuccini It was good and we spilt a chocolate cake thingy that was to die for!
We finished our meal and for some dumb reason decided to take the monorail to the TTC and catch a bus to DTD from there. H-U-G-E M-I-S-T-A-K-E!!! Oi what a mistake. I have no idea why we didn’t just walk over to the Boardwalk or Beach Club and take the bus from there. But our luck of the bus always being there held true for monorails but ended the second we got on.
The monorail had be experiencing problems all week even one day not even working and today was no different. Ours was probably moving at 5mph at best. I was going out of my mind we really wanted to get to the first show at CW and the way it was going we were just going to make it. Almost to the TTC the monorail stopped and we stayed that way for almost 15 minutes.
I was ready to pull my hair out! Inside my head I was screaming “MOVE!!!!! LETS GOOOOOOO!” We finally got into the station and ran down to the bus area with a sinking feeling in our tummy. Why was the sign for DTD blacked out? Why because it no longer runs from there!!!!!!!! Crap no we have to walk over to the Poly and wait there. I haven‘t stayed at the Poly since 1999 and found out they moved the bus stop which was needed as it used to be in the middle of the road.
There we waited another 15-30 minutes for the DTD Jim kept trying to call me and my phone or his phone was loosing service so the only thing I got was he cut his finger really bad and can’t find the band-aids. When the bus came I finally got through to him and he had found them by then. He cut a good portion off the tip of his middle finger on a razor blade.
DTD was finally coming into sight after spending over and hour to get there! We missed the first show so we went over to AC and Pam got her first Kungaloosh MMMMM those are so good.
Siobhan and her first time sitting at a bar! What a good mother and aunt we are
We watched the balderdash cup and got in line for the 2nd show at CW.
The stage at Comedy Warehouse
Mary and Matt playing (of all things) a dentist and hygienst!
Some of the decor at CW
Tonight’s shows were just as good as the others and we stayed for the 3rd before calling it a night. I can't remember what the skits were but I do remember wished that my favorite Philip would show up soon so Siobhan could see him in action! I think we got back around 11:30 and I was praying that I would sleep tonight!
