As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Stacey
Great updates. No one can be cool when it comes to disney. Even adults loose their cool and just become kids again.

Re: The Big Disney Birthday Bash Trip Report Updated 11/15 - The Birthday Bash trip finally begins.
Sunday, November 6, 2005 - Day 2, Part 1, My Princesses meet THE Princesses
Our wake up call came at the absolutely unfair vacation time of 6:15 a.m. and I answered it since no one else even budged. I reset it for 6:35 hoping one of the kids would be able to answer it by then and then I tried to wake up Jimmy. He mumbled something about the Disney Nazi and rolled over . I got dressed, went and knocked on my parents, in-laws and friend’s door and went back to my room to get everyone moving. Jimmy finally got up and the girls slowly started moving. Molly was really excited for some reason and she kept bouncing on the bed. I did their sunblock and Shannon's hair and then finally I went next door to my parent’s room and got the Princess dresses that were hidden there. Shannon knew where we were going (I had to tell her in order to get her to be a Princess for Halloween so she would have a dress to wear too). I got them dressed, Molly was Princess Aurora, Katie was Cinderella and Shannon was Belle. Katie still had no idea where we were going, I have no idea why she thought she was wearing her Princess dress because she didn’t say anything. She probably thought it was just another crazy thing that her Disney freak Mom was making her do . Molly, of course, was clueless. The phone rang again and this time Shannon answered it and she laughed when she heard Stitch instead of Mickey. We were ready to go by 7:15 a.m. and we started walking to the bus stop. When we were about halfway there my Dad asked Carol (my aunt’s friend) if she had their tickets and she looked through her handbag and couldn’t find them so she went back to the room to get them. We continued on without them and quickly caught a bus to the Magic Kingdom. It was really cool being at MK so early before many people were there. As we walked up to the line to get in Molly kept yelling “Hey Mickey Mouse, Where are you?” It was really cute and she got a lot of smiles from the people around her!
As we were walking up Main Street, Katie kept asking me if we were ever going to be able to explore the castle. I told her that only very special people get to go in the castle (only kids whose parents are crazy enough to get up day after day at 6:30 a.m. to make 20 phone calls to get through and wait breathlessly to see if there are any times left )
Here are some pictures I took during our walk up Main Street.
Molly with her Honey (my DFIL, the girls call him Honey)
As we were walking up the ramp to the castle I took my favorite picture of the whole trip the three little ones holding hands and walking together.
When we got to check-in at CRT (at 8:05 – 15 minutes early yay for us) Carol and Cathy still hadn’t caught up so my Dad called them and they still hadn’t found the room again much less their tickets!! The woman at the desk said they could seat the ten of us then and then they would seat Carol & Cathy at a different table whenever they arrived so they wouldn’t miss the Princesses. That was fine with me so we decided to start without them.
We entered the lobby of CRT and there was Cinderella posing for the complimentary photo. I turned to Katie and said I guess we are special enough to explore the castle after all and I wish I could have gotten a picture of the smile on her face and she gave me the biggest hug!! Molly kept yelling Hi Rella, Hi Rella and practically waved her little arm off.
The girls waiting in line to see Cinderella
When it was finally their turn for the picture Molly got a little scared but Erin just said “Molly it’s Rella, she’s waiting for you.” So Molly ran up and got in the picture. We got a great picture of my 4 princesses with Cinderella!
Cinderella signing their autograph books!
My girls with Cinderella
As we went up the winding staircase to the restaurant Katie looked up at me and said “Mom, this makes me feel like a real princess”! I got all teary-eyed again! It’s moments like that that make me come back over and over again.
A picture of the view from the stairs that made Katie feel like a real princess!
All 10 of us were seated together
and as soon we were seated Snow White came to our table, we got a quick photo and autographs for everyone but she was nothing really special.
After Snow White left we got our food and then Belle stopped by – she was great – she made a really big fuss over Shannon because she was wearing her fancy yellow ball gown (she was wearing her blue dress) and also made a big deal over Shannon’s autograph book. She also asked Katie if Cinderella liked Katie’s dress.
After Belle left I got to eat a little of my breakfast before Princess Aurora came to our table. I though Molly was going to have a heart attack she was so excited. Princess Aurora is Molly’s favorite Princess. She made a HUGE fuss over Molly and said she was so glad that she had decided to wear her pink dress that morning instead of her blue dress because now they looked like twins. Molly couldn’t even speak she was so excited, she just kept saying ‘Rora, ‘Rora. Princess Aurora also made a big fuss over Molly’s autograph book and asked her what her favorite part of the movie was (it’s the part at the end when her dress keeps changing from blue to pink to blue, etc.). Then she told Molly that she wanted to give her a kiss but I think Molly misunderstood her because she leaned up and kissed Princess Aurora on the cheek, Princess Aurora kissed her back and left a Princess kiss on her cheek. Finally it was time for the picture and Molly was still so in awe of her we couldn’t get her to look at the camera at first. Finally she looked at me with a huge grin and we got a great picture of them.
Molly was so in awe of Princess Aurora she wouldn't look at the camera
Look at that smile!
Molly's Princess kiss!
The Fairy Godmother was the last one to stop at our table and she was sweet as you would expect the Fairy Godmother to be. She told Katie that she was glad to see that she had gotten away from that evil stepmother and wanted to know how the Prince was ! She really gushed over Katie’s autograph book because she is on it too. We got a good picture and some autographs and then she was on her way.
I did feel a little rushed while eating (but that's because I took all the pictures so I had to stop eating each time a Princess came) but the awesome Princess interaction (except for Snow White) made this breakfast well worth it for us. The Princesses (except Snow White) really spent a decent amount of time with the kids and really made the little one who was dressed like them feel extra special. I will never forget the look on Molly's face when Princess Aurora kissed her. I will definitely do this breakfast again it was just a magical way to start the day and it made the girls so happy, they are still talking about it!
After we were done and had paid (saving 20% with the Disney Dining Experience card) we went downstairs and saw that Carol & Cathy had finally made it back and were in line for their Cinderella picture. It turned out that (1) they had gotten so lost at POR that they wound up at POFQ???? I’m not really sure how that happened but…whatever and (2) the tickets were in her handbag the whole time!!! My Mom & Dad stayed behind with Carol & Cathy to make sure that they were seated without any problems and Jimmy, the girls & I and my in-laws walked out to Fantasyland to start the rest of our day at the Magic Kingdom!
Next: Day 2, Part 2 - Lots & lots of Pixie Dust!!

Re: The Big Disney Birthday Bash Trip Report Updated 11/15 - The Birthday Bash trip finally begins.
I am so glad you guys had a great experience at CRT!!! We'll be there in a couple of weeks and I am SO excited!!!
Maybe Snow White was just put off that none of the girls dressed like her . . . or maybe she just wasn't totally awake that day! (Erin should have dressed up )
Great update!!!
