As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
I missed the show Thur and Fri. Watched it yesterday, didn't miss much.
I think that story line about internet dating is interesting. That Kevin character is crazy. I don't like the girl that's his girlfriend. I've never liked her. Maybe I just don't like the actress.

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
I just got back from out of town and watched Tues and Wed tapes after I got the kids to bed. Actually, Wed. was fairly good. I was waiting to see how Sharon stuck it to Nicki.
Tues. episode was pretty boring except that Nicki opened the invitation to the gala and read that "Sharon Newman invites you to the family estate". Nicki says something about an inviatation to Sharon's funeral...cut to credits...oohhh, a cliff hanger but luckily for me, I had Wed. show taped and could watch it right away! Other than that, blah, blah, blah, how the spouses on opposing sides of the cosmetics line were doing anticipating the "big Launch" of their cosmetics lines. SNOOZE,SNOOZE,SNOOZE!
Wed. show... I'll tell you the whole days story line for Nicki and Sharon, so as not to leave you in suspense while I cut to other story lines ...Nicki (N.)bursts into Sharon's (S.) house. S. makes some comment abut her not knocking. S. plays innocent about the invitations. N. is speechless (something we rarely see - sorry but I don't care much for N.). N. calls S. a witch. S. says N. is overreacting. N. says she'll call Agnes and tell her she's pulling the plug on the funding. N. says, "no way I can back out now, or so you would like to believe..." S. says they should treat each other like equals. N. says, "cold day in hell" and says if it sound like a threat, it is...oohh, Nicki what do you have in store for Sharon...
Tune in tomorrow to find out!
Other story lines were kind of boring. I found myself comparing hair styles instead of following story lines. It all started when Drew came in with a retro Afro look hair style. At first I thought it was a hat or a large beret, but as the show went on, I realized it was her hair. Then I started looking at Brad's hair. Latetly, it's looked like Eddie Munster's, only with the addition of side burns. Then I looked at Jack's hair and I bet it would look the same if he survived a tornado, it has so much spray in it. No wonder Phyllis doesn't run her hands through it. Speaking of Phyllis, she's apparently jealous that Vicki is seeing Damon.
Now, back to the dueling cosmetic companys...
Tuvia looks good at the start, but then realizes it's only selling well at Fenmore's, not at the big chains. Duh, they can't figure out that is Michael Baldwins doing. Drew gets suspicious. She goes to see Damon and finds Michael there. She threatens to call security. End of show.
Other than Sharon and Nicki, not much new. Oh yeah, Ashley was checking in on the phone. Weird. Guess she's off on real maternity leave.
That's it. Stay tuned Did I forget anything? Anybody have anything to add? Boy, I'm just so left in suspense wondering what it will be like for the spouses when they get home tonight (NOT)!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Michelle, you know the story lines are dull when you're having to compare hairdos! LOL
Ashley has been on maternity leave, but is definitely coming back this week. I saw why in one of the soap magazines when I was in line at the grocery earlier in the week. It involves a "tragedy". That's my cliffhanger.
I'm with Dumbo, I can't stand the character of Lily. I'd like someone to give her a big old smack.
We all seem to be tired of the cosmetics storyline too. I mean do they really expect us to believe that one day of sales is going to lead to a company's downfall?
Okay, I'm finished ranting now!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Lynda,
Oh no, a cliffhanger. Don't keep us in suspense too long!
My guess is she had to be down on bedrest. Whenever they showed a scene with her, she was always semi reclining on the couch. I know the position well. It was my position when people came over to visit. I was on bedrest with my last child from week 25 on through delivery!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Okay, Michelle, since inquiring minds want to know....Ashley knows that Victor is up to dirty business tricks and she decides to rush back to Genoa City. On her way there, she is going to get into an accident. That was all they had in the magazine, so we don't know what will happen with the baby.

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Alrighty!
I can't do this everyday, but I had time today.
Enjoy.
The Abbotts are all confused and concerned about the sales figures of Tuvia. No one can understand why the sales are flat and that this is the WORSE rollout of a product line in the history of Jabot. Fenmore's is selling Tuvia off the shelves, but every other store isn't.
The Wonderkin Newman are starting to smell a rat in the form of their father and Michael Baldwin.
Nick quickly jumps on the internet and questions Phyllis tactics and finds that the sales figures are incredible.
Drucella finds Michael Baldwin and Damon Porter alone and cozy in the off limits lab. The Divette(She's not old enough to be a diva yet!) threatens to call security to have him bodily removed 'if he doesn't get his tail out of here!'
Nicki is having a 'quiet' morning after jumping down Sharon's throat for usurping her authority as the Head of the Arts Counsel Gala. She's is sitting in her living room, having given Miguel the okay to put sugar in her coffee, when she notices that Kate is holding her own cup!
Jill flashes back to telling Esther that her time here in the mansion is finished. Esther leaves the room. Jill tries to feed Kate, who spits the food back into her lap. Esther hurries in and Jill leaves the mansion furious that she has to put up with Kate and vows that 'She can't do this!'.
Brock brings his luggage downstairs and Jill pounces on him to get his approval to be responsible for Mother's affairs. He will not give his consent to having it done legally. Lamenting that Esther is the only help she gets. 'That blockhead,' Jill calls Esther.
Nicki is now furious that Sharon printed up invitations to the affect that she is the hostess of the party that is being held 'on her family estate.' Hundreds of people walking through 'her home' at Sharon's invitation. Kate has some words of wisdom that may be hard to swallow.
Drucella continues to question Michael. And 'wonders why a cockroach is walking around in the daylight?' She escorts him out the door and slams it in his face. Then she questions Damon's loyalty. 'You're an opportunist and playing around with the boss' wife, Phyllis,' declares Drucella. 'Oh, I can see now. You're Jealous!' shoots back Damon.
{By the way, Drucella is dressed in a zebra striped halter top with a huge, packed afro. Where did she buy that hair? }
Jabot finds out that Tuvia is ahead in total sales, but only just ahead and will be overcome by Safra by tomorrow. Jack and Brad conclude that it all has something to do with Michael Baldwin.
Neil gets off the phone and tells those assembled in Victor's office that Peter Hudson's west coast stores are out of product, before noon and Victor adds that it will be restocked tomorrow. Nicholas finds out that they have primo shelf space in ALL the stores that they are winning in and questions how this all changed in the space of a couple of weeks, when Safra/Satine was being stored under the counter and out of sight. Victor takes Victoria to the side for a heart to heart with her to thank Victoria for all her commitment, hardwork and apologizes for doubting her and Safra. Nick watches from the other side of the room and is not convinced by this supposed surprise success.
Neil calls Victor to the phone while Micheal walks in and Phyllis is pleased with their success. Hands Michael a champagne flute and notes that Nick looks like he is standing in a morgue. When a toast is offered by Michael for the success of Safra, Nick wants to know if it includes 'Baldwin and what did he do to make it happen?
Nicki says 'You want me to take the high road.' Kate advises 'Don't give her the satisfaction of knowing Sharon's actions got to her!' Kate starts to fret that Jill is her child. Brock doesn't agree with lying to Jill about her recovery, but she still doesn't trust her and has hated her so long.
Jill tells Brock that she is glad to do this. 'Why?' Brock wants to know. 'You're leaving, what do you care?' shoots back Jill. 'No one is more important than the Duchess,' proclaims Brock. He has arranged for her to sit on some board meetings. Sherman will help and so will Kathryn's financial advisor. 'I want all the marbles,' laments Jill. 'Nope, no can do. Take care of our mother, I'm outta here.'
(normal Brock behavior lately)
Damon tell Drucella that she owes him an apology! About Phyllis and the amount of people that Dru has been spreading rumors to including Nicki Newman. 'I am mortally wounded that you would think I would give away company secrets,' complains Damon. 'Well at least I warned you about Michael!' Damon giggles at her. Drucella jumps back on her broom and whisks herself out of the lab. 'Come back here, girl!' {He just loves to pick at her!}
Victoria is in Nick's office to pick up some documents before going back to her office. 'You really had me going in Dad's office. You don't trust Dad,' say Nick. 'Whatever Baldwin did to spike Safra's sales, it's probably illegal. How did we get this shelf space. What did Baldwin do?' 'What are the facts,' asks Victoria. 'Why should it have anything to do with Baldwin? This is my company and it's doing well.' 'Dad pulled all the strings in Safra, Victoria.' 'Why are you invalidated my success?' asks Victoria of Nick again. 'What is it that you need to have Daddy's approval, that you won't accept what is staring you in the face!' sneers Nick. Vicki slams the door on her way out.
John answers the Jabot boardroom call from Ashley. 'Stop trying to snow me,' demands Ashley. 'We have a disaster on our hands!' John calmly reports that 'We had a decent day just under our projections. Safra had a strong showing just under Tuvia.' 'They spent Millions. Something is going on. Don't tell me to calm down,' as Ashley freaks out. Think of the baby! John reminds Ashley who promptly hangs up in her father's face.
{All the women are ticked off today! Except for Nick, of course. :-) Door makers and telephone repairmen will be hard at work tomorrow.}
'Surprise!' and into Nick's office walks Sharon. Nick is sickened by it all. 'I just got in a fight with my sister.' 'I don't mean to pry,' simpers Sharon. Nick continues to question Michael Baldwin's involvement. 'Dad and Baldwin aren't a good combination. Vicky is blowing my ideas off and she is mad at me for thinking it has nothing to do with her. Maybe I'm hoping that it's dirty tricks and not merit.' Nick rehashes the day's events with Sharon. 'You're still grinding an ax with your father,' Sharon informs Nick.
'Sometimes the people we hate are more like us than we notice,' says Kate. 'You're both strong, beautiful women, not born of wealth, struggling to find their way in society. I've learned that people can surprise us. Jill has been there and shown compassion. She has passed the tests. I'm going to tell her the truth of my recovery. Today!'
Larry walks into the Chancellor Mansion living room to Jill questioning him 'why aren't you at work?' 'Tell me what's bugging you, Jill.' 'Brock just left.' 'You miss him?' {Jealousy, Larry?} 'Nope, he won't declare her incompetent. She's a potted plant that isn't getting better. We shouldn't have to turn this mansion into a recovery home. I'm going to put her away! Today!'
'What are you saying, Sharon?' Nick wonders aloud. 'Under the surface things aren't better, Nick. Cut your dad some slack.' 'I don't know if I can do that. It won't be easy, Sharon.'
'You don't have to trust him, I hate seeing what has happened {Then why did you kiss your father in law on the mouth in your own living room, Sharon?} and you both love each other. You have to make the first step. It would be best for the family.' 'I'll think about it.' 'Thanks sweetheart!' gushes Sharon. {Will Sharon do for Victor, what she did for her daughter?}
Victor is now alone in his office, basking in the glow of short term success. The phone rings and he answers it. It's little Ashley. 'How's the baby? Are you relaxing?' asks Victor.
'Oh yeah, I'm really relaxing, says Ashley with venom. 'How did you do this, Victor? How could a company that has no track record in the cosmetics business trump a gold mine, established company like Jabot?' 'Things happen,' replied Victor simply. Things happen in dirty business, Victor!
Slams down the phone. She seethes 'You are going to pay, Victor. I'll make sure of it!'
Previews, Jack in Victor's office. 'I'm going to figure out what you did and bury you with it.' promises Jack to Victor.
Dru to Brad. 'We have to find out where Damon Porter's loyalties lie!'
{Wouldn't you think that Nicki would be at Jabot to gloat that Tuvia is going down, while her anti wrinkle cream would have been a huge success? Just look at her face these days, since she said she was going to continue using it while she waited for Tuvia to finish rolling out}

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Oh my gosh, Flower and Baloo, I think you should do the recaps everyday while Sandy is gone! Good job. Reading your recap was better than watching the show! My favorite line of the whole show was when Jill called Mrs. C. a potted plant. Jill's lines crack me up.
Lynda, I thought you meant the soap opera scoop for Ashley was from real life, not on the show. You gotta know something is going to happen on the way to see Victor. They've just been setting the stage for it way too much. I figured she'd get stranded somewhere in the car and go into labor. Then she'd lose the baby. Brad would blame Victor, of course. Then somehow Victor would find out Abbey is his and Brad would be out of luck again. Bhah, blah, blah...

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Thanks for the compliment, Michelle.
Glad to help out.
Yes, sadly it looks like something 'terrible' is going to happen to little Ashley and everyone will lay all the blame at Victor's feet, but shouldn't she be thinking of her baby first and revenge on Victor second?
Now what would be cool is if Victor would have a premonition or be the only person Ashley can reach on the phone and Victor has to deliver the baby because no one else could get their in time. I really don't want her to lose the baby.
Can you imagine the anguish that would cause on SO many levels.
I hope Mrs. C has Esther, Nicki and Mitchell in the room when she tells Jill she is recovering. I don't trust Jill at all.
Which Lady is Damon going to end up with?
Victoria really deserves a long term Man in her life who couldn't possibly be related to her, is extremely intelligent, taller and stronger, intuitive and has the same interest that she has.
Besides Nicki has already told her she can't be with Damon, so they're a shoe in to become a couple. Phyllis and Drucilla can just back off!

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
I just caught the part where Jill has that woman over from the nursing home and after she leaves, Jill asks Catherine why she was looking at her that way? Did she understand what happened? Catherine tells her please don't put me there, i'm sorry for all the things i did but please don't put me in there. The look on Jill's face was great!
Oh, who is coming back to Genoa City?

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
A lot happened today and the next one isn't on until tuesday. I did my best without my vcr, which choose to go on the fritz today. Enjoy!
Y&R recap for 082903
Intercom buzzes in Victor's office, he picks up the phone & tells Connie to send his visitor in. 'Hello Jack! Sit down and have some champagne. You beat us today.' 'You know we didn't. The only way Safra could have knocked this outta the park is if they corked the bat!' declared Jack.
Meanwhile in the Jabot boardroom, Brad is inside wondering what happened when the phone rings and he picks it up. 'Why didn't you tell me the truth,' complained Ashley over the phone to Brad. 'Calm down. Olivia said getting worked up isn't good for the both of you,' Brad implores. 'To be lied to is more stressful than to be told the truth. Don't sugar coat it. Safra's breaking records right and left,' argues Ashley. 'I was going to tell you, but I wanted to wait until the baby was born,' explains Brad. 'John shouldn't have told you.' 'I've gotten involved by calling Victor!' declares Ashley, indignantly.
In the quiet, solitude that is the Newman livingroom, Nikki is wondering to Kate, 'Should you tell Jill? What if being patient and loving is a masquerade?' Mrs. C. replies that 'She really cares. Is that too much to hope for as her mother?'
Elsewhere in the Chancellor estate livingroom. Larry explodes at Jill, 'You're going to put Mrs. C. in a home? Brock won't let you do this!' 'She doesn't have to be incompetent to be put in a home,' reasoned Jill. 'My God, this is rational! That's why there are so many homes!' 'You're doing this because you hate her!' roars back Larry. 'Larry, sweetheart, I can hate her and still do what's best for her!' {She really is starting to look like she doesn't want to do this. A change from yesterday when she seemed to be doing it out of spite and greed}
'I called Victor to give him a piece of my mind.' yells Ashley. 'I'll handle it.' repeats Brad. 'No, he's not going to get away with this.' Ashley says angrily. {She is shaking at this point}
'Pretend nothing is wrong. Put it out of your mind. Read a book, watch a movie, go to the playground with Abby,' begs Brad. ' I'm not going to let him do this to us!' yells back Ashley and she hangs up in Brad's face. Damn you, Victor! Ashley is raging now.
{Goodness woman, think of your baby. Her blood pressure must be through the roof}
'I think you need to keep a sharp eye out,' advises Nikki. 'She's been sweet and patient and this is aggravating to her,' reasons Mrs. C. 'I want to speak to her as her mother. I want to know how it feels. What if our home became a place we could share without negativity.' dreams Kay. 'Imagine what you both could do if you could become positive about your relationship. I would be more comfortable if we knew for certain.' explains Nikki. 'None of us know how long were going to be here,' declares Mrs. C., 'so much time to make up for!' 'I trust your instincts,' Nikki assures Mrs. C. 'Watch the look in her face when you tell her. You'll have your answer. Let's go with the assumption that she has changed & this will bring out the best of her,' says Nikki with genuine hope in her eyes.
'How do you measure happy, Larry?' 'She can't take care of herself,' wails Jill. 'She'll be surrounded by strangers? We're talking about your Mom!' Larry tries to reason with Jill. 'This is hard, but the time is here.' Larry can't believe what he is hearing, 'Then you send them off to a nursing home?' 'Its ritzy,' Jill informs Larry. 'You're lying to yourself!' points out Larry. 'I'm calling to see if they have a vacancy,' declares Jill. 'I am on the record and this is wrong!' says Larry, standing his ground. ' You, me and Esther. We're the 3 stooges of nursing! She has special needs. She needs professionals! implores Jill. 'Bring them here, don't do this!' Larry says with heat. 'No, not with all that goes with it. Please give me the benefit of the doubt. I care what you think about me!' begs Jill. Larry walks toward the front door in disgust, with his head down and yells 'See ya at work.'
'This is a farce, Victor!' 'Why are you surprised, Jack. There's no evidence of tampering,' says Victor smugly. 'Did you send out your minions to spend millions to buy your products and inflate the profits you got yesterday?' Jack wonders. 'Legitimate customers bought those products,' advises Victor. 'Did you cut prices?' 'No. Don't let that discourage you, Jack.' 'Lets do this again soon, Jack,' baits Victor. Make an appointment with my secretary.' 'You know we're on to you!' insinuates Jack. 'We know you hire people to do your dirty work and Michael Baldwin's fingerprints are all over this!' Jack says angrily.
Jill picks up the living room phone and calls The Valley Glen home. 'Our guests are our highest priority. This is for a parent?' 'She had a stroke. She can't talk.' 'We have space, but i must advise you... Jill interrupts that lady by informing her that 'money is no object!' 'We'll be sending materials for you to look at.' 'Can I bring my mother in to stay today, Mrs. Hertz? We waited too long,' implores Jill. 'An initial meeting is required before any admittance, advises Mrs. Hertz. 'My mother needs your excellent care please,' begs Jill.
Ashley is now pacing the floor and rubbing her stomach. Apologizing to her baby for putting it through this. 'I have to calm down. I'm not going to get a moments peace this way. Francis, I need to speak with you. Stay here with Abby, I'll send someone for you both. I'm going home. Call the front desk to let them know.' And she storms out.
Arriving back from a nice morning at the Newman Ranch to the Chancellor Estate, Nikki wonders where Jill is since her car is there. 'Katherine, be careful Jill is here.' 'Please, I need a drink of water.' Miguel offers to get it for Kay. In walks Jill. 'How are you?' asks Jill to Mrs. C. 'Your Mom is doing great,' gushes Nikki. 'I don't know if she enjoyed it,' says Jill. 'We loved it!' declares Nikki enthusiastically. 'How can you tell?' wonders Jill, wanting to know the secret. In walks Miguel with Mrs. C's water. 'Hello Miguel!' greets Jill. Genuinely interested and curious now, Jill asks 'How do you know she's thirsty? Let me do it.' and she takes the water glass from Nikki and helps her mother take a drink. Nikki and Miguel don't answer her questions, they stand watching Jill and Mrs. C. When no answer comes quick enough Jill says 'I'm expecting company, if you don't mind, please leave.' and begins to hurry them out of the mansion. 'Bye!' Jill is thinking 'Got them outta there quick!' But she isn't quick enough because Mrs. Hertz is at the door, ringing the bell. Jill pulls her inside and pushes the Newman guests out and quickly closes the door before they can ask any questions.
Dru theatrically sweeps into the Jabot boardroom frantic. and informs Brad that Michael Baldwin was in the lab with Damon Porter and he was trying to 'snake him away from Jabot!'
'Can I offer you some coffee, Mrs. Hertz?', who ignores Jill and walks over and sits down next to Mrs. C. 'Hello Katherine.' 'She can't talk,' Jill reminds her. 'She can have a comfortable and pleasant time in the twilight of her life. She has a doctor?' 'Yes, says Jill and she goes to physical therapy, but I don't think it's doing any good.' 'Well progress can be slow, but she should keep it up!' declares Mrs. Hertz. 'We have physical and speech therapists on staff and we can provide for all her needs except for contact from family! This is extremely important!' advises Mrs. Hertz.
{I am really liking Mrs. Hertz. Jill doesn't faze her at all!}
Mrs. C. is nervous, scared, seething, and freaking in her wheelchair while they discuss her future around her, but still staying in character, not making a sound. {Get Jeanne Cooper an Emmy!}
'Michael Baldwin was in our lab today!' rages Brad. 'Newman must have a newfound confidence.' 'Tomorrow we could bounce back.' says Dru. 'What did you hear?' 'I gave Baldwin the boot. Damon says it was no big deal and he actually listened to his pitch!'says Dru, shaking that ridiculous afro. 'We should go to the source. Victor! Brad says with fire in his voice.
'What did you hire Michael Baldwin for?' Jack wants to know. 'That is none of your business. Jabot isn't the industry powerhouse it used to be. You're overextended and under funded.' Victor looks up at Jack grimly. 'You're going to have to keep it up and over time I will find out what you did. We have the better product, personnel and lab; the numbers will change!' declares Jack. 'Those are big words.' replies Victor. 'If you did anything illegal, I'll find out and bury you with it.' promises Jack. 'Another useless threat. Our business is done. I'm having a wonderful evening, I expect you to do the same.' Victor says smugly while drinking champagne at his desk. Jack walks out and they both wonder what the other is up to.
Dutiful daughter, Jill is listening to Mrs. Hertz talk about the joys of Valley Glen. 'Plenty of sunlight, fresh air, company, grounds your mother won't be impressed with living here on the grounds.' 'She doesn't know what is going on.' repeats Jill. 'You're in a hurry,' notices Mrs. Hertz. 'It's time.' Mrs. Hertz turns on Jill and declares 'Our guest are NOT warehoused at Valley Glen. They must have family interaction. We are extremely exclusive and your participation is required. You must stay connected to your mother.' 'I'm busy,' explains Jill. 'Will you visit her?' grills Mrs. Hertz. 'I'll do my very best, but I can't promise.' says Jill. Mrs. Hertz turns to Mrs. C., 'Katherine, you are a very lovely woman. If you come to live with us, you will make new friends and Valley Glen will be your home. Mrs. Hertz asks to use the phone and Jill directs her toward the dining room. Mrs. C. is staring at Jill in disbelief. Jill is staring at Katherine in anguish. Hurt is mirrored in their eyes.
Brad is working on a theory and begins to vent to Dru 'It's good that ash is gone.' 'Is she okay, is the baby okay?' ask Dru. 'Ash is livid. The baby is fine, but John told her everything. She called Victor and laid into him. He is always insinuating his way into her life. I told her not to worry, I had everything under control and Ash KNOWS I don't.'
Ashley is driving her Mercedes Benz E320 Station Wagon down a two lane road. Instead of focusing on her driving she is flashing back and reliving her moments with Victor. Both the good and bad ones from the past. To dinner with Victor when they were first together and the toast 'to falling in love and the unexpected.' To the 'Forever Ashley' wedding gift. To anguish, crying in the rain. To hearing Victor tell her that she was the only woman for him and that he was ready to be with her and their baby. To shock and the anguish pouring her heart out that she had already aborted their baby. To sitting in her hospital bed, just after Abby was born and asking Victor in a shaky voice to 'give me my baby'. To Victor standing in his tuxedo about to marry Nikki again, holding their baby (which he doesn't know yet) Victor beaming 'The nurse thought she was mine!' To their last meeting at the retreat 'this is going to be a tough battle and I don't want you to get in the center of it.'
'How could you do this to me, Victor? Maybe it's not too late.'
She is now driving on a one lane road too fast for the area she is in and there is no one else on the road and hill on the left side and little to no shoulder on the right. Just trees.
Back to Katherine and Jill still staring into each other's eyes. Mrs. Hertz comes back into the room 'We have a room available. It has a view over the north lawn,' she says cheerfully. 'When would be a good time for your mother?' 'Oh, tomorrow or the next day, do you need a deposit?' ask Jill. 'No, but this will give us time to get a welcoming committee in place.' She walks over to Mrs. C. and says 'Good-bye Katherine.' 'She can't answer you.' repeats Jill. Mrs. Hertz gives her a dirty look. Mrs. Hertz leaves. Katherine is in anguish, but holding it together. So is Jill who says (this is as close to word for word as I could get and my vcr is on the fritz)
'Why are you looking at me like that? Do you understand me? Do you understand what just happened here?' Mrs. C. SPEAKS and says 'Don't send me there, Jill, please! I am sorry for anything I may have done to you. Don't make me go there!' begs Mrs. C in her slow and halting way. 'My God! You can talk!' Jill says in relief. Katherine shakes her head 'Yes' and begins to cry.
Dru finally tells Brad that she saw Ashley in the boardroom months ago and she got dizzy. Brad turns on her 'Why didn't you tell me!' 'She told me not to!' railed back Dru. 'And you listened to her for once!' 'Why are you mad that Ashley called Victor!' asked Dru. 'Newman visited her at the retreat before the rollout,' Brad informed Dru. 'He told her to focus on the baby and stay out of the fray. He wanted her to be prepared for failure and she didn't fall for it. I am looking forward to our baby and the connection that I will have with her, unlike Abby. Ashley better get through these next few weeks or I am going to hold Newman responsible!'
Ashley is going 65 mph down this one lane dusty paved road! As she rounded a blind corner a big sports utility vehicle, like an excursion or expedition with a re-enforced grill, is coming down the road toward Ashley. It tries to avoid her car, but this is a one lane road. They, of course, collide. The expedition's left front end hits the Mercedes from the left front quarter panel to the left rear 1/4 panel, with the left front door taking the brunt of the impact. Blood is running down Ashley's face.
Preview of Tuesday's episode:
An officer at the scene calls Brad in the Jabot boardroom to tell him to come to the scene NOW! Cut to the scene. Brad and Jack burst from the car and run toward the scene......

Re: Young and the Restless - help/recaps for Sandy
Hi Wendy!
Wasn't that moment priceless. Now will Jill be happy or ticked off at Kay? I'm hoping that she has an epithany and is happy, like she was when Charlotte showed up.
Tamara Clatterbuck is back on Sept 17th as Alice, Cassie's adoptive mom and she's bringing Frank with her.
I guess Cassie is going to get a dose of 'appreciate your mother and father' or another dose of 'Mom, how could you be that stupid' or maybe 'please pity me, at least I took care of your daughter when you wouldn't,' either way, it's going to be a bit rocky on the ranch.
Maybe this is the way they are going to get Nikki and Sharon to reconcile.
