As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

I'll send PMs to those of you who asked about the Leaving Prints monthly scrapbook supply clubs. It will probably be tomorrow afternoon before I get to it, if that's all right. I promise I won't forget you.

Re: Scrappers Roll Call!
Hi, I'm Libby from NC. Have only posted on this site a few times, but am enjoying all the discussions, since we're planning a trip to WDW in October.
I'm also a veteran scrapper (since 1997) and am a consultant for a scrapbook company. I teach classes and operate a booth at weekend retreats frequently. Someone had mentioned SDV, so I wanted to share a couple more that are also excellent: www.scrapawayretreat.com does smaller retreats in NC/SC/VA and has several events coming up this Fall. There's also a group in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge that does excellent weekend retreats (Smoky Mtn. Scrapbook Extravaganza - don't think they have a website) with events coming up in November, February, and April. If anybody would like more information about those, please email me and I'll be glad to share.
AND, for any other scrappers in NC, the NC MemoryMakers retreat is coming up Sept. 12-14 in Charlotte. If you're not familiar with the group, it's a yahoogroup for scrappers from all over the state. GREAT bunch of ladies and always a wonderful retreat!!
I am married with 2 kids (13 and 10) and it's been several years since we've been to WDW. Our daughter has special needs, so I've been so glad to see lots of discussion and tips on this aspect of Disney travel. I am always struggling to get "caught up" on my family albums and still organize & plan classes, work on my scrapbook business, and, of course, work at my REAL job that supports my scrapbook and vacation habits!!
Looking forward to getting to know more of you,
Libby

Re: Scrappers Roll Call!
Hi
Joanne from MA here, scrapper for about 1.5 years now. My DS friend's mom is a CM consultant (designer?) and we became friends and she introduced me to scrapbooking. I try to get to her 'crop til u drop' workshops, held once a month, and that is when I get most of my scrapbooking done. Haven't completed anything yet, have a family scrapbook going and one for DD.
However, I purchased 3 7x7 albums (1 for each kid) and Disney sticker pak and am putting together a photo/autograph album for each of them. (Maybe it's more for me )
I'm VERY excited about our upcoming October trip and putting together an album for that exclusively!
By the way, what's "Leaving Prints"?

Re: Scrappers Roll Call!
Leaving Prints is a new direct sales scrapbooking company. You can have classes or workshops in your home or a consultant's home and earn free products. You can also hold just a catalog party if you don't want to have people order. LP has recently introduced their own monthly scrapbooking club, in which a themed kit of products is sent to your house each month. That's what everyone was asking about.

Re: Scrappers Roll Call!
Hi everyone. Guess it's time for me to stand up and be counted as a scrapper.
My name is Valerie, I am from central IL and have been scrapping for about 3 years. I didn't get into it hot and heavy like I am now until this winter after our last Disney trip. I started out with a few supplies that I kept in the lid of a 12 x 12 album box, moved to a large cardboard box, then added a large scrap tote bag.
I guess DH got tired of me dragging around this bag & box, and seeing me pull out a tv tray and set up shop in the living room, because I came home from work one night to a wonderful suprize. He built me a large work bench in our basement (right in front of the washer and dryer......hmmm a hint perhaps) and even bought a small tv for me. A few weeks later he came home with a used computer and then talked me into buying a better printer and a scanner to go with it. Then, for mothers day he gave me a digital camera. (OK, who are you and what did you do with my husband?) While he doesn't really "get" my obession, he accepts and supports my love for capturing precious memories of our daughter and our families. He's the best.
I have done an album of DD from birth to one year, a Disney album of our first trip (which is laughable it is sooooooo bad) started 3 albums of DD (spring and summer, fall and winter and one of black & white photos of her) and also completed the album of our second family trip to WDW. I am putting the finishing touches on an album for DH's parents for their 50th anniversary and completing a wedding album for our next door neighbors. I can't wait to get these done so I can get back to scrapping my favorite subject, my beautiful DD.
I cannot believe how much I love scrapbooking. It gives me a creative outlet in my life that I really need. I have enjoyed this thread and really love seeing new websites, new ideas and new products.
Happy Scrapping everyone!

Re: Scrappers Roll Call!
Hello, I am new to PassPorter and new to scrapbooking as well. I caught the bug after taking my son and parents to Disneyland last December. I have bought lots of supplies and finished one scrapbook so far (autographs and pictures with characters with my son). I have gone a little overboard with my shopping!!!!! I am so glad I found this website and all the scrapbook topics!!!!
I hope to go to WDW next year with family on the east coast.
I am a single mom with one son (7) and live in Spokane, WA.

Re: Scrappers Roll Call!
Hello! I'm Linda from IL. I am new to scrapbooking, but have been stamping for 4
years. I love paper and embellishments
which naturally led to scrapbooking. I spent
lots of $ to set up a well organized craft
room. It's so full, but I keep shopping!

Re: Scrappers Roll Call!
Just wanted to say hello. I just found this post and love it. I have been scrap booking, well forever. I love it so much I am a CM consultant. So I not only do it for fun I earn my WDW money doing CM. I have two children and have done baby albums for each of them, my wedding album and family albums. I think that every family needs a Memory Keeper. If anyone lives in or near North Georgia, I have workshops monthly at my home. Its fun and the only chance most of us get to work on albums.

Re: Scrappers Roll Call!
Hello--Paige, here, from IL. I've been scrapping for 6 years now. I am a CM consultant, but have really cut back on my business to where I'm only in it to get my discount.
I LOVE working on my Disney albums and pictures. This past March we went and for my 6 yo daughter's autograph book, I gave her her own 7x7 album. She collected the signatures in the album and then after the trip, she included pictures on the pages. (Yes, she's into working on scrapbooks, too.)
I'm the type who likes to keep my pages clean and simple--mainly because of cost and time and appearance. I don't have a lot of time to work on albums, so the simpler I keep them, the more I can get done.
Paige
