Weight Watchers: Let's support & share - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I know I know! Believe me when I go to store especially for food shopping I say No all the time!! There are oreos in my house but I despise them because they are too sweet for me & I feel like they leave a film in my mouth! I have mini Magnum ice cream popsicles but just don't interest me. Nothing than that and hoping I have gotten to the last of that sweet stuff.
I buy a lot of fresh fruit & veggies anyway. Thinking of getting a Nutri Bullet- that way I could have something sweet but made with fruit & yogurt.
Thank you for your suggestions! I know what I need to do! I did start walking this past Tuesday!
During the week I do well it's the weekend I don't! But I will work on it!

No experience with the nutri bullet but I got the ninja express chop https://smile.amazon.com/Ninja-NJ100...a+express+chop and love it. It's four pieces only the piece that has the motor in can't go in the dishwasher. The blades or super sharp minced baby carrots like they were soft butter and takes up about as much space as the top of a blender container and really easy to use and assemble/dis-assemble. The bowl's two cups it wont grate/slice but since you're considering getting a nutri bullet you're probably not interested in something that does those things anyway.
Kudos to everyone on their weight loss this week! I just tried a new recipe that came out pretty well, using 1 cup of quick cook oats, 1 egg, 2 tsp cocoa powder, 1 banana, packet of stevia and 1/4 cup of chocolate chips. Makes 10 cookies and they are only 1 extra pt if you're doing the simply filling program. So good!

Those sound really good. I'm not sure I dare try simply filling as some of the foods I love most (pasta, potatoes & rice) are on the list. Which could wreak havoc with my actually losing weight.

I think maybe you could add those cookies to when you are ready to treat yourself! But I am sure you have other rewards!
Thank you for telling me about the Ninji slicer- however my food processor died so it is always good to hear about other products! I will have to check it out.

You're welcome. In that case maybe you should consider getting a small food processor. I have a Kitchenaid food processor that works just fine, however it takes up a lot of room on the counter and is a pain to assemble and take apart. I got the Ninja Express Chop so I could quickly and easily chop things up on a day to day basis without it being a major production setting up the food processor or more time consuming chopping everything by hand. I probably will make those cookies eventually because they sound amazing. Thanks for sharing.
So, Monday (2/27/2017) was weigh in and I was down another 3.6 pounds. That means I've parted ways with 12.8 pounds since February 27, 2017. As of Monday I weighed 197 pounds down from 209.8 pounds when I started. That means I have 22 more pounds to ditch in order to be at goal. This past week was amazing. I had three non scale victories that mean a pair of pants and a shirt that didn't fit now fit and can be worn and that I'm off of one of my two blood pressure medications. At the meeting Monday I received my four week reward/award, my 5% lost reward/ward and a 5 pounds lost sticker. Like I said it was an amazing week the only slight disappointment was that the regular leader was on vacation so we had a substitute. I'm also excited because I took another step towards a healthier me and joined the YMCA earlier today (3/31/2017).
Thanks. It's definitely a journey but one I'm enjoying and excited to be on. Although there have definitely been those moments where I've been tempted to say to heck with it.

CONGRATS!!!!!..... Let me know what you think of the Y- we have one too but not close.... and kicking around the idea even though I hate anything to do with gyms. (I did gyms before I had kids). Just not in the whole thing of going there after work. I started walking last Tuesday and I have been huffing & puffing up the slight inclines I have here around my neighborhood. I have noticed that some blouses are a little looser... but nothing to celebrate just yet.
Great for you though...losing enough weight to get off one high blood pressure medicine... That is a BIG deal! And yeah you will feel from time to time to just say "what the heck" but we all have down days....but the next day will be better! It is always is....
Keep going.....

Thanks and way to go on the walking. Yeah, getting off one of the meds is great. I'll definitely let you know how I like the Y. Last weekend I was almost done in by a box of scalloped potatoes I found in my pantry. Those things are horrible for you but I love them. I was so tempted to make them but didn't. I finally cured myself of the temptation by figuring out how many points it would be for the box. I've set that box aside for donation to the foodbank.

You could probably make your own.... it would be a smaller version and a bit healthier using a light cream.... just a thought!
I am on a kick with smores! I don't always have ONE but somehow that is what I want as a snack... I didn't have one last night but thinking about having one tonight. It is only half of a square of a graham cracker. I went food shopping like every Saturday and again I was not interested in any cakes or cookies. Yeah!
I know what is worse than scalloped potatoes... Cheese danish!

I probably could but I'm not sure I should I try. I absolutely love, adore and possibly worship potatoes. I'm not sure I could eat them responsibly if I had a pan of scalloped potatoes in the house. That said, I might try to make a single serving at a time. I also should look in my Weight Watchers cookbooks and see if there's a recipe in one of them.
Maybe just me, but I think it'd be difficult to make decent-tasting scalloped potatoes with the non or low-fat ingredients specified in typical WW recipes.
I find it easier simply to avoid foods like that which only satisfy my tastebuds when loaded with creamy, fatty goodness, yanno?
