Two's company, Three's a crowd...let's make it four! TR - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a great start to your trip so far! Lunch looked delicious - glad you got the credit card issue sorted out. Sorry about the maintenance issues - sounds like Disney dropped the ball a little on that one.
What a delicious lunch! Glad you got the MB issue squared away. Sorry about maintenance and their lack of enthusiasm!
I was glad the issue was easily resolved!

Can't wait to hear more!
Yes, the credit card issue was easy to take care of.
It would have been nice if they'd been a little more concerned about the maintenance things.
About 2:40 we headed out for DHS. We usually choose to walk rather than take a boat. It's actually quicker if you account for waiting for the boat and making the other resort stops.
These are posted along the way...
Those of us who had bags went through bag check and I think 3 of the 4 of us were asked to go through the metal detector. According to the time stamp on my pictures, it was 2:49 when we entered the park, so it didn’t take us long at all!
We entered the park and made our way down Hollywood Blvd...
Photo bombed! The photographer said something about being photo bombed and "Not on my watch!" But I guess it made it in anyway.
(the way the PP pictures are sorted, it's hard to tell what order they were taken, so I'm posting them all together. )
When we got close to the end, we realized people were gathering for the “March of the First Order” show. It was scheduled to start at 3:00 so we decided to find a spot in the shade and wait the 5 minutes.
The projection towers are a pretty huge!
It was a cool way to begin our afternoon in the Studios, but nothing we’d go out of our way to see again.
Then we headed to Toy Story Mania to use our first FP of the trip! My score on the left. Jeff always wins!
Our next FP was for Star Tours at 4:05 so we had some time to kill. We headed for Star Wars Launch Bay, passing these guys on our way.
We just browsed around in the gift shop for a while.
Then over to Star Tours.
We had FP, but it was only a 5 minute wait, so we got in the Stand by line. We were in a vehicle a few minutes later. When the CM asked everyone to pull on the yellow strap, some guy in the row ahead of us pulled his and the buckle came undone. Yikes! I never saw that happen before. They were not able to get the buckle to stay, so they moved him to another seat since there were empty seats in our ship. After he was settled, we got the spiel, the CM walked out, doors closed and we sat there. After a minute or so he came back in with another CM and they were checking doors, looking at the panel, etc. Clearly something was not right. Eventually, we were asked to exit the ship and were placed in queue for the adjoining ship. We watched the pre-show video again and then we filed into our new ship. Yay! Ready for take-off! Tom ended up being the rebel spy, so that was fun. The flight was a little too turbulent for me though, so after we exited and everyone else wanted to go back on using our FP, I declined and waited in the gift shop.
After their second ride we wandered over to Sunset Blvd and poked around in the shops on our way to our third FP of the day – Tower of Terror.
At 5:05, when that was ripe we walked right on and into the front row of our elevator. The windows on our side of the tower opened only once and the rest of the time we saw nothing but walls. A little disappointing as it’s usually fun to look outside at the park as you’re screaming!
A fun day at Studios with plenty of attractions. I've often walked to Studios as well as it's a bit faster.

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Sorry to see you guys got photo bombed by that kid hopefully someone ruined all her pics by having to be in them
I know! I was not happy when I realized she was in that picture. I didn't realize it when I was adding borders and such because the pictures aren't very big at that point. And I really liked our pose so I'd added several borders to that shot. Then I saw her after downloading them, and was like "WHAT!" Shame on her for ruining our shot!
After ToT we headed back down Sunset Blvd. and, deciding to look for a 4th FP, we sat at one of the tables in the Sunset Ranch Market…or whatever that place is called. I don’t have a smart phone, but Tom had the app on his phone and signed in as me to be able to make FPs. He was scrolling through and after refreshing, found a FP for Rock n Roller Coaster for 5:25. It was 5:21 at the time! Score! We were glad we hadn’t walked too far before pulling over to look at the app. So we headed back to RnRC, stopping for a FP photo on the way. The photographer was from Scotland and was super friendly and not very busy, so we chatted with him for a while before our photos.
At RnRC, we walked right into the pre-show room and within a few minutes were screaming through the streets of Hollywood! Ride photos are always so flattering! NOT!
A few PP pics I missed earlier...
It was about 6:00 and we were hot and tired. We walked back to BWV to relax a bit and freshen up.
