As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
Luke and I saw the Frozen Sing Along and really enjoyed it. RnRC does have a single rider line because I've never ridden nor will I. So we don't get a FP+ for it as Luke just breezes through in the single rider line. Sounds like a fun evening at DHS.
Great plans for your evening at the Studios! My DD was just at Disney last week with her HS band and said the new fireworks at DHS were AWESOME!!
Great!! We are definitely excited for these.

Perfect, he will definitely be pleased - as he was just telling me yesterday that RnRC is his favorite thrill ride at WDW.

Sorry for my long absence! Now with LESS than a week to go , I'll be breezing through the rest of our plans!
Tuesday, 4/26
This is Animal Kingdom Day! A quick bite of breakfast will be had in the room or on-the-go, but we have a “brunch” ADR today!
I will be opting out of the Safari this trip. I’ve read mixed opinions on riding this while pregnant, and as much as I love it, it just isn’t worth the risk for this trip. I’ve been blessed to ride it many times before and will surely return to ride again on our next trip! With that said, I’m sure that will be the first stop. Richard may even run on ahead to hop in line while I mosey on through the gift shops for a bit.
Our FPs begin at 9am, but I’m thinking with him heading straight to the safari, we should have no problem making our first one.
o Adventurer’s Outpost Meet (9:00-10:00)
o Expedition Everest (12:30-1:30)
o DINOSAUR (1:55-2:55)
The big gap in our FPs are for the aforementioned “brunch” reservation. It really is breakfast at Tusker House, but I purposefully got our reservation for 10:30 because I heard they put lunch out at 11 and that is a great ADR time in order to sample both! So, we’re really looking forward to that.
We’ll definitely squeeze Finding Nemo: The Musical into our day at some point. I know most seem to prefer Festival of the Lion King, but we place Nemo in the lead for WDW stage shows! I just love the colors, the music and the live actor/puppeteering. My husband’s favorite movie is Lion King, but he still prefers Nemo! But I would love to try and make both because we still have not visited the new theater for FOTLK. I’ve heard it is pretty much the same as the old one, but I’d still like to check it out.
Additionally, I’d like to check out the gorillas. I love the photos my husband gets of these guys (I’ll have to try and link some of his photos at some point). We also discovered last trip how much we enjoyed the Flights of Wonder show! It was so much better than I ever expected it to be. I was looking SO forward to the new Rivers of Light show that was initially going to be going on during our trip, but as we all know now, that is not happening. Oh well. Something to look forward to next time!
Richard’s big goal for AK is eating at Flame Tree BBQ. So we’ll probably stop by and split some food here later in the afternoon once Tusker House has left us.
We have no major evening plans! So, we’ll see where the day takes us. I’m excited for an open evening without even an ADR to tie us to somewhere in particular.

Great plans! I'd love to see your DH's gorilla photos. I'm excited that Flame Tree Barbecue is open again. It's my favorite CS at AK and we almost always eat here for lunch one day.

I thought you'd be one that is interested in the photos! I'll try and remember to get him to help me with that.

This will be our official REST day. I won’t say with 100% certainty that we won’t end up in a park at some point, but if we do, it’ll be later in the day with a very relaxed attitude.
Though we drive to Disney, we typically leave the car parked throughout the entire week and rely on Disney transportation. But we will probably drive around some this day. The first thing on the agenda today will be breakfast at Whispering Canyon Café. We have an ADR for 10:30. After breakfast, I may have to stop into Roaring Fork and get a Magic Cookie Bar to snack on later! I LOVE those things.
One thing we do want to accomplish, which will be a first for us, is driving over to the Disney Character Warehouse for some discounted merchandise! Some friends of ours from church have told us about it for a while, but we’ve never really worked a full rest day into our schedule before. We’re always going to a park. So, this will be the first opportunity to do this. Another place they’ve told us about is called Theme Park Connection, which apparently has expensive Disney collectibles and even large props from attractions. We would not purchase anything from this place, but definitely sounds like a fun place to just check out!
My husband and I often talk about moving to the Orlando area. It is a dream of mine to live in Florida and being close to the mouse on a permanent basis would be TOP-NOTCH (I’m sure many of you on this board have similar goals!). So, I may even talk him into exploring the area some on this day.
We have one other ADR scheduled for this day and I would venture to say it is the one we are easily most excited about this trip: dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. We’ve gone together once before and we loved it. Their bread and roasted garlic…YUM Our anniversary is the Tuesday after we return home, so this will be considered our anniversary dinner! I even bought myself a cute little maternity dress for the occasion (and figure I can wear it to a shower or two in a couple of months). Afterwards, we may stroll on the beach or go stroll through World Showcase at Epcot.
Love your "rest" day plans! We typically do like you do and leave our car parked for the duration, using Disney transportation to get to the parks. But a couple of times we've ventured out to do a little outlet shopping. What a great place to celebrate your anniversary!

Up Next: Magic Kingdom Day!!!
Since I gave never checked out the Wilderness Lodge - what is a magic cookie bar? Details please.
Your rest & relaxation day looks great especially an anniversary meal at Yachtsman Steakhouse. I can definitely see a romantic walk along the Boardwalk or a short walk to Epcot to catch Illuminations as a hood ending for your day. Another nice idea for you two may be a carriage ride during your stay...might be a nice thing to add to your trip.
Your day of rest sounds wonderful! I love going to the Disney outlet stores to see what bargains can be found and that Disney Theme Collectible store sounds like so much fun! Yachtsman's Steakhouse will be a romantic place for your anniversary dinner
