Brent and Cinderella celebrate Jordan's 17th birthday. (Ariel too.) COMPLETE 4/7 - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Got up early this morning for a Chef Mickey breakfast at 7am. (Which wasn’t easy for me because I closed the Magic Kingdom last night at 1 am. But we got to Chef Mickey right on time.
For some reason I felt I had to get a picture of my signed Cindi Mickey ears. Aren’t they pretty?
Then we walked over to the MK for a quick visit to the Princesses and Ariel.
Ariel commented on Jordan’s shirt because she was wearing ‘Lookingmabobs’. (Glasses.)
Then we met an especially beautiful Cinderella.
Rapunzel was perky as ever too.
Then we headed to the studios as that is where our fastpasses for the day were. We road Tower of Terror:
Rock n Roller Coaster:
Then we headed to Star Tours before dinner and on the way we met a woman who just had to to take a picture of my tattoo.(You can see a good picture of it in Mulan’s shoes picture from yesterday) She said her daughter would love it. She is in college right now and Cinderella is her favorite princess. I told her she had great taste in Princesses and she should send the picture to her. The lady said that wouldn’t be a good idea because her daughter would want one then. This made me feel pretty good.
Then had dinner at 50’s Prime. Jordan got the S’mores free and made quick work of them:
Also a Cast Member named Miranda stopped at our table just because she had to comment on my ears. Again, that made me feel good. Then it was on to the Little Mermaid show and the Movie ride, but on the way who should we run into but the woman who took a picture of my tattoo. She did in fact end up sending the picture to her daughter and her daughter replied back “COOLEST DUDE EVER!!!!” Now this REALLLY made me feel good. I had no idea how lucky Jordan was to have the coolest dude ever for a father.
Anyway we spent some more time at the studios, rode the Movie ride and saw the Little Mermaid show then headed back to the hotel. (The coolest dude ever had to give Jordan a piggy back ride on the way). We swam and sun bathed a little and made it an early night as I was up late last night and we had Extra Magic at the MK tomorrow night!
Next: A trip to Downtown Disney and a Ruby Slipper???? (Remember that subtle foreshadowing earlier? It makes sense tomorrow!)
Stay Tuned!

Sunday March 16, Downtown Disney and Magic Kingdom
Arose a bit late this morning as we were Downtown Disney bound. We just wanted to do some light shopping then head to the MK. We had to see our friends, the princesses, catch the new afternoon parade and do Be our Guest for dinner again. So, upon our arrival at the Disney store, guess what I had to do?
Once inside Jordan looked at the Princess dresses longing for the day she could get done up at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique when we discovered the magic mirror that would show you how you look as your favorite princess.:
Of course I had to try it too:
You know I was going to post a picture of me as Cindi, didn’t you?
Then Jordan tried on a real dress most likely to humor me.
Then we headed out but found ourselves in a little glass shop behind the big Disney Store and I found the cutest little glass slipper with a Ruby in the toe. Since my birthday is July 4th, Ruby is my birth stone. I just had to have it.
Now we were finally headed to the Magic Kingdom in time for the parade. Here’s a few pictures of the Princess float.
The Peter Pan float was great to and Tinker Bell was on the back. She looked at me and smiled then she pointed her wand at me just as the cannon on the ship fired off. She shot me!
After the parade we got a Dole Whip and saw Tinkerbell. Terrence was with her this time.
She apologized for shooting me. Claimed she was shooting me with the magic, hoping it would reflect off my ‘ahem’ beautiful golden ears and come back at her. Suuuuureee..
Then we saw Philharmagic, and I got my ears embroidered. They were hesitant to do it because they no longer make them and they heard how special they were to me. If the machine damaged them they could not replace them. I took a deep breath and said ‘Go ahead’. They turned out great!
Then our Princess Fast passes started coming due. Ariel was first. You can get a pretty good look at Jordan’s ink in these:
Then we rode laugh floor and People mover. Then headed for Princess Fairytale Hall but we stopped in the Castle gift shop first for some thoughtful pictures with my dearly beloved’s Mother’s dress all restored.
Then it was on to see Cindi! I couldn’t wait to show her my Ruby glass slipper! I told her I was going to borrow a theory from the Wizard of Oz and hold this slipper close to my heart and look at it whenever I get ‘Homesick’ then close my eyes and I can see you. She was genuinely touched and replied, “Well it was meant to be then, I’ll close my eyes too and be there whenever you need me…” Then she smiled with that smile that lights up a room and gave me a very warm hug. It was perhaps the highlight of the trip.
Aurora was touched by all this too.
Next up was Rapunzel. I tried to convince her my satchel was manly.
She still called it a purse.
At least Snow was sweet.
We had time to see Ariel before dinner.
Then we had another nice dinner at Be Our Guest. After it was over Beast looked at my shirt to make sure Belle wasn’t on there anywhere. Whew I was safe. I knew I didn’t put many pictures of her on my shirt for a reason.
Then it was on to see the Princesses once more. Had a very sweet Cinderella, I told her I couldn’t pass up a chance to see her so close to midnight.
Aurora was very chatty as well.
Then we headed home to pack up.
Monday Mar 17, Departure day.
We got all packed up and I ventured to the food court for Waffles and Chocolate Chip Pancakes as we made it to the park for 9:00 opening. We did some shopping and I built my own light sabre. (always wanted to do that.) Then at the Circus gift shop a Cast Member named Marita came up to us and started talking to us about our tattoos and said she was so thrilled to see us there having such a good time. She talked to us for a good long while. She was on the College Program d loved the Princesses too. So I asked her to pose for a picture with us and said “Henceforth you shall be known to us as Princess Marita!” I think she liked that.
Then it was on to see Ariel. Ariel saw her tattoo and screamed..”Angelfish!!! Where did you get that???” Jordan nearly cried.
Then it was on to see Cindi and Aurora! A very sweet Cindi bade us “farewell, but not goodbye.. Til we meet again.”
Then Aurora was a bit teary to see us leave…
Rapunzel was a lot of fun telling us all about how she lost Pascal.
Then Snow was just perfect. I introduced myself and properly bowed. She twirled for us and showed us her new dress, then allowed me to kiss her hand. Then as we were leaving she asked me to tell my friend who has me painted on her leg she said Hi and she misses her. She remembered Liz! How cool!
Then we slowly made our way out to the busses and back to the airport.
Thank you for coming along with us as we relive our trip.
