Wow! Is he really 10 years old? Let's go to Disney! - The TR - COMPLETE!! 5/28 - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Since our DS is now 10 and able to handle things a bit more we have decided to try some new attractions with him.
Here is what we are going to go on:
Dumbo (never been on it with him, I honestly don't remember if I ever went on it)
Barnstormer(very nervous about this one)
Buzz Lightyear( I think he will like this, though probably will just take pictures and not acutally play, lol) - we have never been on this at all
Toy Story Midway Mania - we have never been on this either
Tea Cups - maybe, don't know about this one
Magic Carpets of Aladdin - depends on how he handles Dumbo
Monsters Laugh Floor - never been on this
Muppet Vision 3D - never been on this
Hoping he does not totally freak out on some these because he is very strong so my DH is probably going to have to ride with him and we will see how it goes.
So we have been making a list of things that we really want to see in each park.
Magic Kingdom: Never been to:
The New Fantasyland (no brainer)
Buzz Lightyear
Monsters Laugh Floor
Stitch(maybe)
Must do's:
Pirates
Haunted Mansion
People Mover
It's a Small World ( DS's favorite)
Enchanted Tiki Room (original version-yay!)
Carousel of Progress
Under the Sea
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Carousel(if we can do it on our first 2 days because it is closed for refurb after that)
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom( we have to check this out)
Country Bear Jamboree
We really want to take our time and see all the little touches in the Magic Kingdom and really explore it.
Never been on:
The New Test Track ( we have to at least go on it)
Agent P's World Showcase Adventure
Must Do's:
Spaceship Earth
Journey into Imagination with Figment
Living with the Land
Impressions De France
Voices of Liberty
Captain EO ( for my 80's flashback, lol)
Ellen's Energy Adventure (been years and if anything we can nap in it )
Gran Fiesta Tour
We want to try out some of the FAB's around the world showcase and of course shopping is a must.
Never been on:
Kali River Rapids ( will have to do this seperately though, DS will not like it)
It's Tough to be a Bug ( if I can make myself do this I will, we will see and another one without DS)
The Boneyard (we have to let DS check this out)
Must Do's:
Kilimanjaro Safari's
Finding Nemo the Musical
Rafiki's Planet Watch
All the trails, etc
This park is one we won't spend a long time at when we go as it is a very WARM park. So will kind of squeeze things in here and there.

i am thinking jonathan will do just fine on barnstormer. i have taken autism spectrum kids from canada on it many times (as part of dreams take flight). i have never had a problem with any of them. they usually are running up to it. course i don't know if it is a safety-in-numbers lots of kids in the group kind of thing that gives them courage or what. good luck...it is one of my most favorite rides at MK! the other is the carpets....ha ha ha.
This is not our favorite park but there are some plans for it.
Never Been to:
Star Tours - the new version (a one done without DS)
Toy Story Midway Mania
Walt Disney: One Man's Dream ( so looking forward to this one, it was closed the last time we were there)
Muppet Vision 3D
The legend of Captain Jack Sparrow
Fantasmic! (yes we have never been to this, shocking isn't it)
Lights, Motor, Action ( if we can work it in and without DS)
STAR WARS WEEKEND - looking forward to this
Must Do's:
The Great Movie Ride( hoping to see the cowboy version)
Beauty and the Beast live on stage
Hoping to see some of the entertainment around. I understand the parade will be gone though by the time we get there. Never saw this parade and I guess we never will. We mainly want to check out the whole Star Wars weekend thing but still work in some other stuff here.
That is our plans. I am a bit anxious about our first two days since the crowd levels are at a 10 but it is what it is.
Your plans look great! I would love to spend 2 weeks at WDW!
I'm sure you have this figured out, but you mentioned you are getting 10-day parkhoppers, and it looks like you have 11 park days planned.
Darn! You are correct. I thought I had calculated it out right. Our original plan was to get annual passes but we could not swing that. I will have to adjust it somewhere. Thank you for seeing that.

Thank you Sheri! That makes me feel so much better about taking him on it. I am worried about Dumbo too but then I have a thing about heights so I may be more scared than he will be. LOL
I had to adjust our plans a little since I did not count our park days correctly. So Tuesday May 28 is now an off day. It is fine. Perhaps we can work in a DVC tour on this day or something.
I also adjusted Sunday June 2 with us going to the Animal Kingdom in the morning and then heading over to MK later in the day. So really it all worked out and I don't have to change any ADR's. Yay!

The planner in me just had to make sure everything added up right. I was hoping there was an explanation like an old non-expiring ticket or something, but I'm glad you were able to make everything work with just some minor adjustments.
Since you are eating at AKL on the now non-park day, definitely go early and check out the lodge and the savannas.
I would also suggest visiting AoA since you are staying at Pop. Maybe head over for lunch on one of your non-park days. It is such a cute resort. I bet Jonathon would enjoy it!

We were already planning on that anyway and also wanted to go to POFQ to get some Beignets and see that resort which we have not been too.
Thanks again for seeing that. Whew! I would hate to have realized it half way through the trip. lol
I wouldn't worry too much about Dumbo unless your DS is one to change his mind midway on a ride and decide he has to get out - now. The one I'd be worried about is Buzz Lightyear. I know that sounds weird, but consider the dark/ black lighting and some of the flashing lighting effects. You won't find very good videos of it on youtube, but that's at least something to start with. I'd recommend checking out some of them before you decide to take your DS on the Buzz Lightyear ride.
