Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm​. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I like plain water but it has to be COLD. With ice.

I have NOT tried this but I have seen a similiar one in my local BJ's and have almost bought it a few times. This might be the kind of thing you're looking for -a fruit infusion pitcher.

Flavored water by the pitcher -

Healthy Life / Zero calorie apple-cinnamon drink. I don't know about weight loss/metabolism boosting, but it would probably help me drink more water!

Healthy Life / To boost weight loss (and it's just yummy) - 2L water, 1 medium cucumber, 1 lemon, 10-12 mint leaves. steep overnight in fridge and drink every day. Also great for general detox--including clear skin!

i LOVE mio! the stuff is so good. i really like some of the flavors that come in the store-brand versions of it. meijer has grape which i love.

I can understand your dilemma. I would suggest you to try some healthy fruit juice for yourself. This can help you cut down your water intake and will also keep you healthy.

I use a soda stream machine to fizz my water. Sometimes adding some fruit juice to it.

Doesn't anyone toss a wedge of lime in their water rather than the more commonplace lemon? I like it better.

A hint to those who've never used stevia as a no-cal sweetener: You may find as I have that some brands taste better to you than others. I've found I like Stevia in the Raw far more than Truvia. It's cheaper, too.

I just recently gave up Diet Coke after a recent blood test showed my kidney levels were too high. I googled it and found article upon article about the dangers of aspartame (diet drinks) on your kidneys. I never could drink just one soda. I've been known to drink five or more in a day. Really bad habit. Had tried giving it up before but always went back. *sigh* Gave up soda cold turkey once I realized it was messing with my health.

I like adding cucumbers to my water. Really good flavor. I tried apples, but the flavor wasn't favorable enough. I've tried frozen berries in the past. I'd just experiment with veggies and fruits until you find something you like.

I also started drinking green tea with Stevia. Not a fan of tea, but that's life. I don't want to end up on kidney dialysis over Diet Coke. Right now, I'm trying to find the right Stevia product. I bring my own Stevia packets to add to unsweetened tea when we go to Arby's, or I just get water.

Another vote for the Twinings Cold Brew tea. I found it in my local grocery store in VA. People have been making sun tea without any special bags for years (cold water+tea bags+sun+time=tea) but the new blends made for cold brewing are a bit faster and don't require sun. The Twininings certainly is quicker: 3-5 minutes in the cold water to make it. This would be easy to take to WDW, add one to a water bottle, then sweeten as you like or not.

Yikes... I used to drink a TON of diet coke on a daily basis and never worry about side effects - until recently. Then after a bit of research, what I read about artificial sweeteners made me decide to quit drinking diet soda altogether. Now if I really want soda, I'll have a regular one.

Nowadays, I usually drink two things:
1. sparkling water mixed with some apple juice
2. apple or rose hip tea

And I've started to drink a bit of plain water every day, too - even though I still don't much care for it.

Another Seltzer fan here! I buy flavored seltzers, my favorites are lime, lemon and mandarin orange but there is also a mint mojito flavor by Polar that is really good. Still get a fizziness from the carbonation but no sugar of any kind!

I like those new "baby" soda cans that range from around six to eight ounces each for my occasional indulgence in a Coke.

An 8-pack of those will last me for a month or more, which indicates how much soda I drink. I've honestly gotten to the point after years of no soda to speak of that 8 ounces of the stuff is all I care to have.

I cut up thin orange or lemon slices and put them in my water bottles. I can't stand plain water...it makes me nauseaus.

I like plain water, but during the summer I like a sweeter ice laden beverage so I added Mio and like it a lot.

I just found a brand called "hint". It has zero sweetners, zero calories, zero preservatives. I like the watermelon flavour. So yummy and no sweeteners.
